I use meditation & trance to get a good night's sleep and enhance my dreams.
Just be sure to have a clean distinciton between doing the work to fall asleep and doing it to achieve OBE. Otherwise you run the risk of conditioning your mind to fall asleep when meditatingor trying for OBE.

Oh, the way I do it is to get into a trance and calm the surface then after  while I break the trance stretch a bit in my bed, get comfy and fall asleep. Works like a charm.

hey I too had alot of trouble falling asleep.Too many dam thoughts, they would never stop. What really helped me was alot of meditation. You dont have to actually lay down and meditate. You can meditate while doing daily activities.

It takes alot of practice and a ton of patience.Sounds like you dont have a prob with thoughts though. So this may work for you.

I like too create a  falling sensation.Kind of like slowly drifting off into sleep, you can even add a gentle rocking. After doing it alot your body will do it on its own.Atleast thats what happened with me.

.Color breathing will help calm your mind too.Just imagine you are breathing in sparkling white positive energy through your nose. And breathing out grey dirty energy out of your mouth.Do it as many times as you have too.

This may trigger an obe.But it doesnt matter you will still get the rest you need.I think I actually feel more refreshed when I wake up after having one.

Hi again,

Thanks for the advice - I'll give it a go...!

That reminds me - I have difficulty imagining bright white energy coming in through my nose, because all I can see is solid black! If I want to imagine it, I have to wait until I get those hypnagogic blobs of colour and imagine them coming in through my nose?

Surely there's a simpler way than that?! Any thoughts greatly appreciated...!

Falling asleep is my biggest obstacle. I can do it sitting in the middle of a room on a concrete floor in the full lotus posture with no back support. I can fall asleep standing up. I have even gone to sleep while walking and had time to start dreaming before hitting the ground. First, I become cold and my eyes start to itch. It feels like my body and mind are slowing down and there is a pressure to keep me from thinking. It is letting go into an absence of thinking which does the job. This is just like the trance state for me, but with no positive qualities like enhanced concentration. The combination which always puts me to sleep is the absence of thoughts, the lowered temperature, and the eye discomfort.

Boomyboomy:  The way I visualize is not by actually attempting to see an image although sometimes I do.
The closest description I can come up with is like a memory of a painting, you can't quite see it but you know exactly what it looks like. Try it out to get a feel for the mental sensation then aply the same thing to the stream of light.

So you don't have to wait tfor the blobs, be in a trance even or close your eyes for that matter (if you can tune out your visual surrounsding a bit)

Hi,

I have great difficulty getting to sleep. However, since getting Astral Dynamics, I have learnt how to get into trance very easily.

One of the problems Robert mentions is falling asleep. However, I would find it very useful to get to sleep from a trance, but I tried - lying in a trance for half an hour, but no sleep...!

Any advice - perhaps from those who fall asleep by accident?! I know this isn't strictly OBE related, but I would appreciate your thoughts...!

Thanks,

AJA
