Very strange heartbeat

Hey Tolvor,
I often experience heart sensations, one way or another.  What I mean by this, is sometimes it's the heart chakra, which can make you believe your real heart is beating erratic or and impossible rate.  But this is "normal" despite how abnormal it really feels.

However, I also feel an altered physical heart beat.  Usually, a more steady stronger thud like you described.  I am not sure why so many people run in to this.  Robert Bruce often says it's just the Heart Chakra, but I tend to disagree.. I have personally verified a very real accelerated, stronger heart beat after intense sessions.  I believe this is the result of anxiety and adrenaline being released in to the system.  I also believe this is why Astral Projection can be severely dangerous to somebody with a heart condition.  For somebody with a healthy heart, these elevated heart levels shouldn't do harm, though i'm not a medical doctor.. accelerated heart beats can actually be healthy (occasionally) for healthy folks.  That's why exercise is important!  Keeps the heart muscle strong!

I personally ignore it.  It's actually not that simple.. lol; I am working on ignoring it.  It can be quite distracting at times.  But I have talked with a lot of people who have experienced this and I wouldn't be too concerned unless you have a heart condition.

I hope this helps!

I was practicing an OBE session noe night, and I had my heart chakra pumping lie mad. I already knew from reading 'Astral Dynamics', that it was my heart chakra, and NOT my physical heart beating. I verified this by putting my hand across my chest. I felt two distinct beats inside of me, but only one I could feel with my hand, which was my physical heart. It was very cool to experience this. On top of that, it was close to astral projection I have gotten in some time. The vibes are always my favorite part. :)

Dragen - I agree with you that the physical heart is definitely affected by projection attempts, at least for some people anyway, myself included.

However, as to whether this means it can be dangerous for people with heart conditions, I'm not so sure.  I don't think my heart is as healthy as it should be but I've never suffered any ill effects.  I'm sure that Robert Bruce would have made some mention of any such problems by now, too.  Lastly, in over 25 years of experimentation, Robert Monroe reported that no 'explorers' had ever suffered any ill effects whatsoever.

I could've written the exact same thing yesterday! I had head vibrations and it felt like my heart was out of control I could hear it as well(I can hear it when I exercise hard, it felt like about 180bpm), obviously this caused me to stop and check my heart rate, which was actually about 60 bpm. crazy stuff.[:)]
Cheers

I was working on attaining my first (remembered) OBE, and had gone through the relaxation exercises, quieted the mind, and kept very calm.  I was doing well, lost the sensation of breathing, and felt a very powerful tingle throughout body, especially on forehead, no problem, I have had that several times.  I got a little further and the vibrations that I had felt increased dramatically, like I was in a trunk of a car doing 20 mph down a rocky road.  The vibrations seemed most powerful in the chest area.  This was startling enough that it broke most of my concentration, and I was back to feeling limited sensations from my body.  However the heavy vibrations continued, and while I was thinking about it I determined that my heartbeat (I can usually feel it in my throat when in light trance and laying down) was odd.  Instead of regular THUD-thud THUD-thud, I could only feel *THUD*-*THUD* *THUD*.  That broke me completely out of the light trance to check the heartbeat.  It stayed odd for about three seconds before seeming to drop into the regular rhythm.

I can't figure out if my heart was going slightly erratic from the excitement, or whether it was a symptom of OBE generation.  I felt no odd effects after getting up, no pains, no shortness of breath, no sweating, no arm pains, so whatever it was it wasn't a full fledged heart problem.

Has anyone experienced very strange heart sensations like this?
