Simulacrum

I'm not sure how Robert Bruce defines a void, but if it's that state in which you cease to exist except for an awareness of one's self, I've experienced that.
I would describe it as floating in space, but in this state there was no body existing as a reference point, or any sense of locality.

Anyhow, I think the 'void' I am referring to is mentioned in several yogi texts and doctrine. I have also heard of Chaotes releasing sigils in this state, but I can't see how one could consciously enter this state, or hold a conventional order of thoughts within it.
Since in this state perception seems to become reality, in that there seems to be no semblance of perception involved (just you and the void),perhaps this is why people claim to utilise this state for imprinting conception upon reality- perhaps perception *does* become reality. (unfounded conjecture)

Whatever state this was, I got there accidentally and it remains a significant event.

Hi Gemma,

Personally I can't say for sure that I have experienced void like areas.

Although on occasion I have awareness of similar in deep meditation, and had still felt aas if in body, but this is more likened to feeling as if one is inside a very expansive shell or cocoon like structure. On the other hand I have classic tunnel type experiences in the past (although it has been a long time), but would have to trawl through memory to be able to rekindle in words what they were like.

One I can recollect (although fuzzy at best, but thanks for kick starting my old brain cells) was following a candle or point of light type mediation. This was something I had been practicing in my teens back in the mid/late 70's, and I had been pleased to be able to maintain the visualisation exercise without aid in my minds eye for a number of minutes at any given time.

I remember retiring one evening after meditation and noticed that the point of light had returned in my minds eye. A decided to focus on this and noticed with intrigue that it had begun to expand and form into a cone structure. As my attention focused on this I felt as if I was putting my head through a ships porthole, or perhaps imagine one of those daft cones people use to stop their dogs scratching themselves. I can't recollect if there were vibrations before this or not and there were again classic rushing wind sensations as I transitioned almost seamlessly through into a wide undulating endless tunnel. Although the point of light still appeared tantalisingly ahead! The colours as far as I remember were everything from areas of silvery grey to myriad sparkling shapes and lights. I do remember stopping at one point and looking as if to my right – as I did so another area appeared to open up onto a view of the Earth, and immediately after that I was suddenly sucked into a maelstrom which felt quite orientating... although on reflection this may have been an astral wind event as described in Astral Dynamics!

I am sorry to say that I can't remember much after that, and I have to trust that my memory is correct (at least in part), and that I am not fantasising this based on what I have subsequently read.

Sorry I diverged from the subject of voids [;)]

Cheers,

Interesting you should mention voids.

Only a few days ago, I found myself twice in a "grey nothingness".  The impression I got was "emptiness".  I didn't know where I was or what to do.  These grey areas weren't frightening, just...empty.  It's the only word I can use to describe them.  I was only in them for a few seconds, before I found myself in the physical.

Once I'd fully roused, I realised that I had probably been in a void.

Insert This void area seems quite interesting... [^] I can't say I have experienced it before, but... What do you think causes it? Is it something to do with the neurons in your brain? I'm not quite sure...

G3MM4

No, I don't think it's caused by neurons etc. The impression I'm under, from reading Astral Dynamics was that they are areas between astral planes, and they are basically nothing. Pitch black nothingness. Although I can't be definite about it because I've never been in one as far as I know (there is one experience which I am not sure if I was in a void or not but that's another matter).

Hi,
My first few OBE"S as a teenager where I was awake and fully aware, I found myself in the Void.  From there I waited to see what I was going to find and eventually see a light and go to it. I had some awesome experiences at what I call the city and park, where the library is... focus 27 I think they call it now.

Over the years I have been in the Void many times, I travel through it to my destinations now.  It is a bit like floating in space, except without all the dots of light from stars, totally black.

The Void is the space that exists in-between all things.  It is the space between atoms and the huge space between stars.  So there aren't lots of different ones, just the same Void all throughout the Universe.

Many things live in the Void, manifesting in really unusual ways, some like weird B movie creatures, only huge, etc.  All sorts of things lie in there.  I like going into the void because it is so diverse, so full even though it is a Void... not a vacuum.

That's my bit. [:P]

G3MM4

Well that sort of fits my little theory! I wouldn't like to find myself in a void if there are things in there...

I might have been in a void. It was on the night that my Gran died, I "dreamt" that I was in some place, completely black, nothing was solid, but I heard a voice... maybe that was a void, I don't know, but I can still recall it to this day. Bloody horrible it was.

I have been reading RB's astral Dynamics and came across something about voids. Has anyone ever been in one, and if so, please share the experience with us. Or if you have thoughts on the subject, feel free to share them.
