Dreams about astral projection

Hello all. This happened to me a few weeks ago, and I've been meaning to post it.

I've been exploring OBE's for a few months now, but I've never had an OBE [I never really focus too much lol]. On this one particular night, after browsing AstralPulse, I had a dream in which I was floating around my room. There wasn't much to see visually, and I had zero control over my movements for most of it, just haphazardly drifting to and from one wall to the other. at one point, I thought "go through the ceiling", and my body started rising in the middle of my room, but I got caught on the cieling and just kind of bounced like a helium balloon.

That's pretty much it. This was, to me, clearly a dream. It felt just like any other dream; the only difference was subject matter. I, unfortunately, never thought to remind myself that it was a dream. It all panned out subconsciously like a normal dream, but it was "a dream about astral projection". Huh.

I feel like I need to get better at communicating with myself while sleeping / almost asleep. If I was, the whole thing might have ended up being lucid.

So, people: Thoughts, explanations, similar events, etc. Thank you!

You have to start somewhere. It looks like yours is in Lucid Dreams. Congratulations! Now you have to learn how to make this a consistent thing. This will come with practice and intent. Talk to yourself before you go to sleep, tell yourself your intent, your goal and ask for help. It really does work. I say "By my act of will I release my physical control over my body. Take me to your desired destination. Show me what I need to see, teach me what I need to learn. Help me to realize when I am in a dream so I can become conscious and enjoy it". This has worked wonders for me in awaking in Lucid Dreams. I had to make a separate journal, one for my Phase Sessions and one for my dreams.
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Lionheart said it well. :-D Intent is the main thing I believe. I was 100% focused on astral travel for a good 3 weeks. I would get symptoms like the rapid heartbeat etc, and these would scare me. I would remind myself I am a healthy person, this is natural... Follow through this and you will be fine... and within 3 weeks I had my first OBE. I too had a dream where I was having an OBE so I can understand what you are saying. It definitely is not even anywhere near the same experience. Keep at it though, and you will do fine. Intent intent...  :-D

A good way to be more lucid while dreaming is to be more lucid while awake. One hand washes the other.

I very often mix up dreams with AP. You get so excited to do it you start dreaming. However, the astral is extremely similar in feeling to lucid dreams or dreams in general.  You can turn a regular dream into an astral experience. If you're lucid and can't control your movements or get out of the walls, it sounds alot like AP. I do that about half of my experiences. I typically just relax and let different scenery come to me. Your mind is still confined to actual space. With actual projection you're likely to get this helium feeling alot. I've found myself trapped behind walls. Just bring it to you

The thing I find the hardest about having a AP from a Lucid Dream is that it startles me. Just last night I came out of a dream and there were 2 entities sitting on my bed just looking at me. I like Phasing because you are in control and more importantly prepared for the encounter. At first i was spooked until my mind kicked in and told me it was a AP. But it was strange, one minute I was dreaming, the next minute I see a bright light and there on my bed are the 2 figures. Needless to say, it knocked me right back into my physical body.  :-(

The thing I noticed is that as I began going OBE more frequently I began having more false awakenings. Last night my arthritis was hurting really bad and I had a very vivid and realistic dream of going down to the kitchen and mixing up a batch of glucosamine/condroitin fizzy drink.

I only felt sure it was a dream when I came down to make coffee and saw there was no glass or powder mix package on the counter.
