Hi, I want to know how to read my own aura and chakras so that I can heal and repair them. I see eggshell techniques and don't understand them. I mean if I am to imagine a rip or tear in my aura, I'm not Searching for it but rather I'm just Making it up and imagining it. What does my aura look like? What am I to look for, really? The eggshell thing makes no sense, I can't just imagine a tear where my throat chakra is if there really isn't a tear there you know? Please, break it down.

Which part?  Your Aura has different layers.  If you want to know what it looks like, get some of Barbara Brennan's books.  She has a technical one for healers that have pictures of 'what it really looks like'.
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

There is an incredibly great book called, "Eastern Body, Western Mind" which goes into excellent and very interesting detail about chakra information on a personal level.  To see your own aura is something you can cultivate, start by seeing others.  But the truth is, there are so many more interesting topics.

For auras, try going to your local library to check out the information available, that is a good start.

I learned by first looking for the white light around pictures on my wall, lol.  Then extended it to looking for the white light on others, then go for the colors when you become better at it.  it's so simple really.  Just move your eyes back and forth from the picture frame to about an inch or two above it.  When you find the white light, then try it with people.

I like to do chakra color meditation. Its pretty basic. You just  begin with normal meditation (however you like to start: grounding, breathing, whatever), then focus on each chakra.  Each chakra has a different color designated to it. Red for the base, then on up with the colors of the rainbow. I find that if I focus on each chakra I get a shade of that color. I like to picture myself in an orb of that color, or picture it flowing throughout my body. If I don't like that color, or it somehow doesn't feel right to me, I feed energy to it until I get a shade I like.

I'm not quite sure if this is the right way to go about it, but I find it works for me.  I especially like the finding the color of your chakra, its fun. The other part doesn't work for everyone and its temporary unless you do basic chakra work regularly.

From the books I've read, it isn't recommend to try and unblock your chakras or aura without the help of  someone very experienced.
