hey guys I'm am a new user to this forum so i would like to start off by saying hello. well i am pretty familiar with obe's and such, i feel that i have had multiple successful obe's. but i recently had what i feel was an obe, that felt very very evil. let me start from the beginning. i went to bed at night (of course) and sometime in the middle of the night i started having some pretty lucid dreams, then next thing i know I'm laying in my bed and i feel my body rocking back and fourth like it does when i exit, well i rocked out off the side of my bed and stand there looking into the mirror and see nothing. but this whole time I'm standing there i feel some sort of evil presence around me, something i have never felt before, next thing i know i put my arm out in front of me and see that it is bloody and cut up sort of like my body was drug across asphalt, and keep in mind as i see this i feel this evil entities pulling me (i think) because i became paralyzed and could no longer move. i try and wake myself up yelling to myself MATT WAKE UP!!!!! that felt like it took me at least 5 Min's or so, then i wake in my bed feeling numb and tingly.

has anyone else heard of this? kinda scary, and as a side note a few days later i felt that i talked to a good spirit in a lucid dream telling me some positive advice.

thanks for reading,             -MATT-

Hi,

I'm no expert, but I have read that sleep paralysis is often associated with intense fear. Maybe u also had a nightmare. Usually the fear that is in your mind manifests itself in dreams and, I assume, also during OBE.  OBE itself can be terribly scary, until u condition your mind right.

See if there are any recent events in your life that make u uneasy or scared, even if only in the subconscious.

Good luck,
I.

wow man you sound very educated..... yeah it is possible i may have had some subconscious fears or things in my life that could be causing such episodes. whats weird is all the other obe's i have had where more vivid as far as clarity with more thought control then i had on that nightmarish incident i wrote about.

thanks again for your response.

Educated? He sounds intelligent yeah but other than being educated in english I don't know where you'd find education on things like this other than reading about it. Experienced is probably better, because Major Tom has a unique name on a song that makes me think he has picked something very applicable to astral projection, though I wonder which version of it he likes.

I have had intensely fearful dreams before too. It's different though when you are lucid or OBEing, because then it feels more real, and much more of a threat. In tying your dreams and visions more to reality, you lose the advantage of being able to laugh at it afterwards, while gaining the advantage of being able to experience more of it and being less afraid while in the dream. Perhaps if you can look at it to be as entertaining as you do a fun nightmare, it will be less threatening to you, and if you look at moving as more of an experiment with lucidity than a necessity to avoid dream ghouls, then it might be easier. Much of what we do is about reengineering our brain's reactions to things. It is a slow difficult road to go from the logical decision to feeling it as well. The change must be more than concious...  very subtle... difficult to explain.

I have had sleep paralasis 2 times, and it was hell both times, you cant, move, scream, and you fell an evil prescence.

but worst of all you are concious while it happens, yet you cant even move

the times I've had sleep paralysis, I've never felt a evil presence, just felt like there was something (felt like a cat) walking on my bed, but due to my position i couldn't see what was there (i was facing the wall, and the thing i felt walking was out of my view at the base of the bed)

I also had a sleep paralisis and there is one particular case that I didn't like since I had to fight hard to breath; it seems that something came from the right site of my bed and got into me in my face. I tried to move away from it as a reaction but found out that I couldn't do nothing; even breathing. Only after fighting hard, I could take a big and deep breath of air like if I stayed under water for too long. Hopefully, this do not happen too often!

did it feel like you were out of breathe? i would think that you were still breathing just at a very low level like when our bodies go into a deep sleep?

anyhow thanks for the posts fella's

I go into sleep paralysis almost every day and only 3 times have i ever felt an evil presence. 2 of the times I just laughed in my head and didn't show fear and the sleep paralysis went back to normal. Just a tip if ur on a scary sleep paralysis.

I have also had the breathing problem quite a few times. I just try to stay calm and snap out of the paralysis, but I guess I don't know a good way to stop or prevent this from happening.

I have sleep paralysis often as well, not every day, but a few times a month. Mostly it comes for a day or two and leaves for a bit after.

Ever snapped awake, after not really being asleep, and taking a really big breath in the process? Had this happen to me twice in a row and I was wondering if it's related and I have just somehow had it only happen now.

Quotedid it feel like you were out of breathe?

Yeah, and it wasn't a pleasant feeling at all.

Quotei would think that you were still breathing just at a very low level like when our bodies go into a deep sleep?

This type of event happened so quickly and I experienced it only once so I can not really tell many things about it. Maybe I was still breathing at a very low level; if yes, I will not panic next time (I will try at least!).

Take care,

If your breathing is shutting off completely, it could be a sign of sleep apnea.

Yeah I heard about what is sleep apnea but I did not (to my own knowledge) experience any other similar problem  (once with what I described in a previous post and the other one happened while I was dreaming  that I was swimming under water....). If it was a recurring problem, I would have gone to the doctor to see  what was the problem. Do sleep paralysis is often associated with sleep apnea?

Take care,

You will find that most people that experience sleep paralysis during an OBE experience have it due to some sort of negative/evil entity that near them. I have also experienced this in the past. I. my own opinion is that either these evil entities have a way of paralyzing us, or we are frozen inside our bodies as a protective way to keep from leaving our bodies open to possession. I highly doubt the possession thing. Every time I have ever came across a large amount of negative energy, it seemed to be able to either slow me down or render me unable to move or fly away.
