If you where to ask the average person about spirituality, astral projection and humans as spiritual beings most people would not have a clue what you were talking about. So why are are only a small minority of people aware of this?

Xanth

Because most people refuse to see the truth of this "reality".  They're stuck focused entirely on the material world and don't want to know what more there is.

What you "see" is only a tiny fraction of what there is.  When you begin to scratch the surface, it starts chipping away in large chunks rather fast... some people like remaining spiritually ignorant.

That's not a bad thing though... we *ALL* started off that way at one time or another.  :)

We are what we are.  People move along at the pace they move.  It's all good.

AAAAAAAA

There is more of us than you know :)

Most of us actually just have no use for being on "spiritual forums" other than to simply pass time and/or to learn more about another person's or group of people's point of view. Xanth also made a good point saying that what you "see" is only a tiny fraction of what there is. Modern science and mathematics can even demonstrate that it is at least mathematically possible and therefore theoretically possible even in this world. Some people choose to be ignorant, and others just like to think they are right and nobody else is (because it's human nature to be that way). Some people are simply never exposed to that way of life. Regardless, I assure you that this "small minority" you speak of is bigger than you think.

So if we all started off that way does that mean we are further along in terms of spiritual understanding?

We are, otherwise, there would be no one to teach.

Xanth

That's one way to look at it...

Another is that nobody is any "further" than anyone else at any of this.
We're all just doing the best we can with the tools we have available "for ourselves".  :)

There's a reason why someone who isn't "ready" for this stuff, will ignore anything taught to them.  It'll literally go in one ear and out the other... but that's 100% fine, for the person has to WANT to learn.

The DESIRE to learn has to come... that's the first step.

Szaxx

There's a few of us who have had experiences from our earliest memories. There was no choice in this at all. We learned how to get about in the NP before we started nursery school.
As far as being awake goes, perhaps aware would be a better word.
I'd add that anyone on the Pulse must be aware or they'd most likely be on a steam engine site lol
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

People all have their choices to make, sometimes it only takes a little event to understand that you have to change yourself, some people never open their mind. They are close minded all their life and are fine that way, other times you have that event take place that makes you want something more and you start exploring.
Sometimes people just barely open their mind, they open their mind to different things then when people tell them to open even more they refuse it and stay that way. It's all good because we don't like to go places where we're not used to, people are scared of changes... Until you go all in and never turn back.
Everyone has a different path and a different "learning curve". Some people never cease to learn, they learn all their life because that's what they crave.
Some will never ask themselves any Life Changing questions.
Eventually, we'll all be at the same place somewhere.
I don't think much about it anymore, if I see someone close minded or who is completely shut to spiritually, I won't go on trying to explain to him because he/she simply isn't ready for it. I'll carry on and hope the best for that person on it's progress toward learning about life etc.

A lot of people will search for answers, some people stop eventually because they think it's a waste of time and that they will not ever find a good answer.
Others keep going and discover the astral or anything that looks like the most logical truth out there to them. Then they keep going.
Not everyone makes it up here. Interest in LD, AP, or anything spiritual can lead you here and well it's one of the best place to learn and ask questions really.

And some have incredible experiences at a very young age like Szaxx said...
Very powerful memories that can trigger that interest at early stages.
Maybe those dreams trigger that need for more information, I don't know... I've had many weird dreams when I was young. Powerful monsters that I could never had imagined by myself.
Situations where I couldn't control my dreams and that's pretty much what lead me to LD then AP...
I guess it's all about life experiences and your way of thinking about that stuff that leads you to be open minded.
Most people who are open minded always welcome new thoughts which make them progress and change.

I find it boring when someone has no interest in a spiritual or philosophical discussion tho.
Most will see it taboo and never talk to you anymore, others will change subject and talk about repetitive media news and video games. Eventually these subjects run out quick and then well you leave and nothing new has been learned. Close minded people have a very small subject selection. Science? well yeah it always progress but when you talk about science 5 times a week it gets boring quick and there's nothing more to talk about.
When you have a discussion with someone spiritual, they'll always have new stories for you and knowledge, wisdom to help you better yourself.

I had a paranormal experience a long time ago that led me to study the subject over the years and now it led me here, maybe that experience was planned and was ment to happen in order to kick start my quest for spiritual information?

We are all meant to end up some place where we can eventually further our spirituality and understanding of life and the cosmos, if not in this life then the next one, if not on this forum then on another or another communication way to develop it.

Life is pointless if you can't understand it eventually, you'd just come back forever without a clue of how to get out. Nothing is impossible.
It so, in a way, it's possible that it's like what I've just stated, but it's also possible that there's a way out and a place where nothing ever gets boring and there's always something more to learn.

We'll find out eventually.

I agree with this. Two years ago, I caught a terrible sickness that made me rest from work for a month which led me to encounter websites and good reads about spirituality. Since then I never stopped learning about magick, the astral and anything spiritual. I always thought the sickness I caught 2 years ago was a possible pathway that led me here.
