Hi Timeless

I've noticed the same with our cats, especially the young one (less than a year old.)
Sometimes during the day I try to meditate and raise energy.  I used to leave the door open, but the kitten would come in and start walking around the bed and on my chest.  So now I close the door, but I can still hear it outside the door trying to get in.  I think it knows when I'm trying to meditate and raise energy and wants to be around me when I'm doing it. P.S. I think it was the Egyptians that regarded cats as highly spiritual beings and used them to protect themselves from evil.  I do think there is something about cats that is different than other pets.  Maybe the Egyptians were on to something?  Could it be possible that cats' souls vibrate at slightly higher levels than other pets and that's why they're attracted to meditation/energy raising?

Greetings Timeless,

Yes indeed! I have two cats - Persians who are 17 years old now and still as well and active as ever. And I have noticed the same thing now you mention it - whenever I need some extended solitude the cats do have a habit of making a very loud noise. I have always assumed that they can sense something is going on, and they want a part of it [:)] The only other time they are so loud is at their breakfast time!

Finding solitude can also be challenging with children in the house. I am a single parent of three sons ages 12, 11 and 9, and if you think cats are noisy and demanding, then they are nothing compared to three boys of that age [:)]

It does not often snow here - maybe once per year at most and it never stays for very long except for on what passes as a mountian here [:)] The Island is in the gulf stream, and the warmer tha average sea keeps the snow away. We also have schools of Killer Whales and the worlds largest shark - the Basking shark just offshore. The Isle of Man is a very beautiful and Mystical place though, and I am fortunate to live here. The locals are famous for their faith in the Faeries (for which the Island is famous) and there is even a bridge on the main road called the "Faery Bridge" where everyone has to greet the Faery Folk for fear of bad luck. We have alot of stone circles here as well as Viking relics and lost of stones with equilateral crosses. We have the oldest system of government in the world, founded over 1000 years ago, and still continuing in that form. For any pagans among us, it is also the land of Gerald Gardner of Wicca fame, and the main place of entertainment where the children go to have fun is called the "Summerland". The Island is named after the Celtic Sea God Manannan McLir. The Island is now thought to be the true Isle of Avalon - the Arthurian legends speaks of an Island in the Western Seas called "Emain Ablach", and which is the ancient name for the Isle of Man - and yes - we have the castle as well [:)]

Goodness me - how did I go from cats to the history of the Isle of Man [:)]

With best regards,

Adrian.

Dear Timeless
I have a special love for animals & have two brothers we picked up at the humane society 6yrs ago.  Prior to these two, whenever I would meditate their predecessor(my old cat guardian :) ) would come from out of no where & position herself. This was particularly sweet because I'd be sitting on the floor in a half-lotus position.  ;) It was like she wasn't going to let me go anywhere without her!
One of the cats we have now I'm sure is a little psychic. He sees things &  at times it makes him a little skiddish. He jumps at the slightest sound. When I'm doing energy things he is particularly interested & comes around enquiring rather loudly. I usually will tell him it's ok & he quiets down. Sometimes when I've been meditating quite deeply I will try to telepathicly give him a firm "NO" which he knows means--not now!
 best regards, Celeste
