Growing the quality of your consciousness

I understand that meditation is one of the most important tools for growing the quality of your consciousness, so I meditate 1-2 times per day for about 15-45 minutes.
Also, as I have free will, I try to make the right decisions in every situation all day long - the decisions that I think is right and that is not focused on my own needs, but rather others/shared needs and whats good for the whole.
But one thing is to make the right decision, because you know it's right and you feel you have to. Another thing is to do it because you really want to (with heart and soul).
I guess the first one dosen't get you closer to love and to grow the quality of your consciousness, so how do you practice to make the right decisions because you really want? - I would like to hear some opinions because I think this is the hard part (especially if you're tired)

Is there other things besides meditation and everyday decisions, that you can do in order to grow the quality of your consciousness?

Yep, one thing quite common that's prevalent.
Don't assume.
If you think you know, its a misconception in belief. Nobody can know everything on a subject let alone those counselling.
A simple example, what's one add one?
Your standard answer is two.
This is incorrect. The best answer is,  in any number system excluding binary it will be two. In binary its ten. In absolute value systems it's still one.

If you are aware of the possibilities on such a simple question think about the number of possibilities on a complex question. Add emotion to the mix and then the answer is swamped.
Thoughts...
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

It seems to me the impulse to do something because you believe it's the 'right' thing to do is 'right' itself, whether it is or not.
So it seems to me that the question "Another thing is to do it because you really want to (with heart and soul)." answers itself.  If you didn't want to "increase your consciousness" with your heart and soul you wouldn't be asking in the first place.
Why?

IMO, consciousness is a state of being, not doing. Of course trying to make the right decisions is a good thing to practice, but growing consciousness is really beyond that. Consciousness is not an action, but a state of being outside the physical reality of actions. It needs to be experienced, practiced, exercised in order to grow. Not necessarily something you do, but something you are.

That's my take on it at this point. Hope that makes sense.

OK, but how do you experience, practice, exercise your consciousness? - I think one tool for that is meditation.
Also, as I can understand from Tom Campbell, one of the best ways to grow your consciousness is to do "right" things here in the physical.

Tom calls it "Lowering your Entropy". Here is a great "Fireside Chat" in which he answers questions on how to lower your entropy, named "The Evolution of Humanity"!

I agree that meditation is one tool for facilitating the growth of our consciousness. One of the main things for me is getting beyond the physical plane of our human earth life and connecting with the higher level of consciousness which IMO is all connected with some kind of source. That's what I mean by experiencing or practicing consciousness. Meditation can help with that, but also experiencing reality outside of our physical bodies has been very consciousness expanding for me. Just spending time there, being there, observing, evaluating, trying new things. There you can experience pure consciousness.

What I've been learning is that because our nature is to be conscious a big part of what we have do is just get of our own way, and allow our consciousness to naturally grow. A lot of is just working through the things that block us from experiencing our conscious state like fear for example. It amazing how much we block ourselves.

You are a very good guy, keep doing it. The best way to do is to be GOOD and RIGHT guy.

being GOOD guy is that you are nice, humble, love without expectation etc, but being RIGHT is just important. RIGHT is what you belive it is right. Suppose you are a good guy, but you give all your money, your house, your clothes to the poor while you have almost nothing to have, that is NOT RIGHT.

GOOD and RIGHT guy is important, and its automatically improve your chakra.

While doing meditation is very important tool of spiritual practice.

keep doing this until you die.

There is one general guideline...

BE nice, don't simply ACT nice.
There is a significant difference between the two.
