Talk to gaurdian angel?

I only believe in a higher astral being, or higher self, potentially as a combonation of the rest. For me I think it has to do more with communicating with the subconscious than anything else.

Yes, with the right preparation you can do just as you ask. I have met my higher self (didn't recognise "me" at first), and I'm in regular contact with my spirit guide, whom three other people have seen or spoken with.

A good starting point if your looking for reading material here is a book by the Author Ted Andrews - "How to Meet and Work With Spirit Guides".
It goes into details about spirit guides, animal guides, ghosts, angels, and what we need to do to communicate with them.
For the particular subject of guardian angels, it's not uncommon for someone able to work with the spirits to never meet their guardian angel. It is believed that once you start upon a spiritual path and start to develop in this way, you are assigned a guardian angel on a permanent basis to look out for you.

This may sound too simple but it works for me.  I just get very quiet and ask my guides certain questions.  I usually ask yes or no questions (I'm not sur why so don't ask) and I get answers.  When I ask the question, there's almost a certain volume (loudness) to the mental question, then before I can finish asking the question, I will get a somewhat quieter "yes" or "no" from a different part of my mind.  My guides answer me the moment the question has been fully formulated in my mind, before I can actually put the thoughts into words.  

If I need clarification, my guides will then answer in word clusters.  Here's an example:

about 7 years ago, I was finally kicked out of my parents' house after moving back i with them for 3 years.  During this time of "homelessness" (I lived with a friend and house sat for another) I did a lot of meditation and talking with my guides.  

Over Christmas time, my brother suggested that I move to Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota where he lived because he thought I'd like the Twin Cities na dthere was a good job market out there.  During the same time, my sister lived in Raleigh, North Carolina.  I had always been closer to my sister so I thought, well, if I'm going to take a leap of faith, why don't I just leap to North Carolina to be closer to my sister?  

Every time I asked the question to myself, a little voice inside my head would say, "You have to move to Minnesota because the man you're going to marry is there."  Then I started using the pendulum to see if the voices I was hearing were in correspondence with what the pendulum was answering... they corresponded.  A few times, I asked why couldn't I marry a guy in North CArolina and the answer I received was, "He would not live in the South."  

I eventually moved to Minnesota and the second day I was there, my brother took me to his office to meet his friends.  That day, I met the man who would later become my husband.  I later asked him if he would ever live in the south and he said, "No, there's too much racism in the south." (my husband is of Hindu Indian heritage and looks hispanic or arab, he is extremely intelligent acutely aware of negative feelings towards these groups, He has been called evil because of his looks starting in 1980 with the hostage crisis in Iran... when he was 8 years old)

Anyway, what I'm trying to tell you is that for me, it works just to be quiet and simply ask the questions.  Using a pendulum works if you doubt whether you are answering your own questions.

Im not sure if you want to hear this, but Ive only seen my guide once. And that was after a catastrophic event which I wont go into detail about.

To be honest you dont need to really see them. Turn inward and open you heart and mind and listen closely. There wont be words but the messages will be clear.

If you act on those impuses and your intuition you will feel your bond begining to grow.

Ive given up on seeing my guide again. As much as it was awestruck by it, it kinda scared me in a strange sense. Seeing all eternity in the eyes of your guide its a little much to take in one instance.

I personally feel that true guides do not show themselves for your protection, simply because your mind and mine too cannot take that kind of information .... that level of knowledge and understanding without going insane or it killing you

A suggestion - don't try looking on the internet for something like this. I've spent years trawling the web for god information on topics like this, and it is very, very rare! 90% of what you'll find is people trying to sell you something, either a book, a course, or worse, their own personal beliefs. another 8%  of what you might find is useless, leaving about 2% good information, but not necessarily what you want.

I don't know what public libraries are like your way, but all of my local libraries have quite good sections on metaphysical and esoteric subjects. You'll get so much more out of an average book from the library than you will from a good web site.

This is really excellent advice!!
The heart is...well...the heart of the matter. You don't need to see your guide to know their presence. Your heart will tell you long before your eyes will.

I would also like to add one very important word of caution to Lighhouse's suggestion about the pendulum - The Pendulum articles written by Mayatnik on the subject are flawed in one major area. Pendulums have no inherent protection whatsoever against lower entities using them to misdirect or mislead you, and the level of "protection" he details is totally insufficient. This I have found to be true through personal experience.

Cleansing / blessing / concecrating a pendulum for only positive communication is absolutely essential, and even then they should be used only in a "sacred" place - somewhere that has been cleansed of all negative energies, and has had some form of protection set up.
If you have never used a pendulum before, it is highly reccomended that you get real world guidance from someone who has, such as a medium, who can verify your findings.

I'd suggest that the pendulum is not a good way to find your guide, but with proper use, and proper cleansing and protection, it can be a good way of furthering the relationship and gaining deeper levels of insight and information.

bmw, just to add this. You really dont need to read books. Psionics can be trained by intuition alone. Abeit it somewhat frustrating, it does work. I am only now begining to read books on this subject.

EDIT <guide speaking again / summary>: The most pure messages / words of god etc. will be found through other people. The angelic prefer to use others to help you see the bigger picture. I have very seldom had them speak to me directally. If you listen to the world around you, you will hear the words you want screaming at you. When you learn from others, you learn / gain experience and arent force feed the information you desire.You must search for your own anwsers, they will *not* come to you. This is both the upside and downside of free will. It is your path, and no other's, choose wisely.

From what Ive seen / felt. Your guide has your best interests in mind. All will be revealed in due time, when it is right for you.

Ive met a high level guide once. It was almost frightening. These spirits hold a vast amount of information. Sharing all eternity in a blink of an eye <which they attempt / try to do> is quite painful, and possibly dangerous. Not to mention you wont understand one word of it

The real / best guides keep themselves hidden for your protection, until you are prepared / ready to meet them face to face

I read somewhere that anyone can "speak" to their own gaurdian angel, spirit guide, or higher astral being.  Have any of you read about this?  If so, what have you read?  Just give me your thoughts and knowledge on the subject.  Thanks.
