Opening chakras before going to sleep?

Where did you read about that chakra closing? In everything I've read by Robert Bruce, he states that you can't close a chakra by any closing action (since every kind of stimulation rather opens them), and the best way to cause energy movements to cease is just to stop any stimulation.
We all float down here ... and if you're down here with me ... YOU'LL FLOAT TOO!!!

Nagual

This is from "NEW ENERGY WAYS":
quote:
Myself, plus many other volunteers, have noticed a peculiar phenomenon that boosts the NEW system and consequentially the healing ability of the physical body.  This only seems to happen when you fall asleep while strongly raising energy.  In the morning, more often than not, the physical pain you went to sleep with will either be gone or significantly healed.

I believe falling asleep while raising energy causes the energy raising action to carry over into the sleep state.  And as the sleep state itself causes a naturally increased energy flow, it is reasonable to suggest this combination may promote stronger natural healing of the physical body during sleep than would otherwise be possible.  Some of these cases may seem like miracle cures, and this does not always happen, but cases like this are not that unusual.

This is from Treatrise:
quote:
After any type of energy work it is, traditionally, believed to be important to close all energy centers that have been stimulated or opened. While this idea appears to have some merit on the surface, I have come to the conclusion it is a completely illogical practice. No localized awareness action or visualized action can cause an energy center (chakra) to deactivate or close. This applies to any type of energy center, secondary or primary. Experience tells me that no matter how an awareness action is performed at the site of an energy center it will 'always' cause stimulation. It is a mistake to think that any awareness or visualized action can succeed at closing or deactivating an energy center.

This is a little like fanning a spark (inactive energy center) into a flame with an stimulation action (making the spark an 'active' energy center) and then trying to make that same flame go out by blowing up on it from a different direction. However it is done, it will continue to fan the flame.

. . .

Reversing the energy 'raising' action and taking energy down through the legs (not through primary centers) however does help reduce activity in primary energy centers.  This reversed energy raising action does not involved any type of direct chakra stimulation and will reduces the amount of energy flowing into the energy body, especially through the legs. This reduces the amount of energy available to primary energy centers, thereby reducing activity in them to some extent. This does not, however, involve any focused awareness actions at the sites of primary centers.
Energy centers, primary and secondary, naturally reduce their level of activity once relaxation discipline is broken, as well as when they cease to be stimulated or used.

The best way to deactivate energy centers is to stop stimulating and using them. Energy centers will also cease activity when they become energetically exhausted. This will happen when the supporting energy body circuitry shuts down, becomes exhausted, or for some other reason becomes incapable of providing the required energy flow necessary to maintain primary energy centers in their active state.

i agree with what RB has to say about the closing of chakras. Its more like the chakras have some kind of resting potential or resting charge that people automatically call it being closed, when in fact it is in this normal unbothered resting state. They never really seem to close or stop their functioning, but the intensity that they will work at can be less or more.

Oh... it seems I'm having an old version of RB's "treatrise on astral projection"...   where he talks about the importance of closing chakras after any energy work, or you will risk "bleeding energy" throughout the day. He uses those words.

I went to read the treatrise on the web just now because my printed verison is packed down in the bottom of a box (I'm in the middle of a moving process) and I couldn't find the same information in it.

However I found a section added in chapter 8 called "closing energy centres?" :

quote:
*Author's Note* This section contradicts, corrects and replaces an earlier section in the original Treatise - on closing primary energy centres after using them. The reason for this contradiction is simply that my continuing research has led to an increased understanding of the energy body and how it works - with experience teaching me otherwise in this case:)

and then the stuff you pasted.

now that certainly clears up a number of things!

Thanks a lot for replies.

ooohhh and old copy. can you send it to me via Private message or maybe in a new post on this thread. It would be interesting to see how it has changed over time.

I'm sorry I only have it printed and it would be too much to type in!

Yes, I was just going to mention that.  The old version does tell you to close your chakras.  I had downloaded the treatise a long time ago and was fortunate enough to find the addendum online, otherwise I would be just as confused!

I'm still wondering though; is there a chance of experiencing this "energy bleeding" ?

Or is it perfectly OK to say, "open" all chakras when sitting on the bus or something and then just walk around afterwards.

The book still says some stuff about reversing the energy raising actions, like Nagual pasted, to reduce activity in the primary chakras. What is actually the point of doing this?

There is no problem leaving chakras "open" at all. Unless you have done too much stimulation on them in uneven ways, there is no problem. I for one feel very calm and thoughtful, most of all "connected" when I have all of them stimulated using RB's method. Nothing wrong with that. I think of it as a kind of astral, mental, psychic, or meditational calm. Very relaxing.

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

I've been practicing robert bruce's chakra opening methods where you pull energy into the chakras and imagine opening them like tearing a piece of bread apart.

Robert states in his book that chakras will close naturally during sleep.

Does this mean that it is okey to do this chakra opening exercise every night before going to sleep and then just not bother about doing the chakra closing routines ?  Or will I risk "bleeding energy" the next day?

Because he also states that it is absolutely important to go through the closing procedure.

Thanks for any advice.
