Hi fun,
I'm not the one that can tell you if it sounds like a projection, because I haven't had one yet.  I think I'm about at the point you are, because for a few seconds the other day I had the definite feeling that I was floating up.  It didn't last, but it encouraged me because I feel that I am getting closer.  I definitely think you are too.

Hi Fun.

I can't really tell you if it was an AP or not but I can recount a similar experience.

When I first started (and it's almost a month now), I had a result I'd never forget too soon.  I was trying to AP but was boardering on waking and sleeping and I was watching passivly whatever was coming into my mind.  All of a sudden I started to vibrate all over.  There was this pulsing sensation and it was absolute ectasy!  I was pretty much slowly sitting upwards but not, if you get my meaning, and I was overjoyed because I was finally doing it!
Of course, I got overexcited and 'snap' I was back.

I'm guessing getting too excited kind of brings you back to waking because when you're dreaming, you never really get that excited about something so your body is no longer fooled and says "hey, what do you think you're doing, get back here!"

The key I think is to focus on your breathing and heart beat though that may be hard in the end because if you succeed, your heart beat will be over-ruled by one chakra or another pulsing and it will confuse you.

I had a spontaneous AP the otehr day but it caught me off guard so I snapped back.

I can give you a suggestion.  Cube, one of the members, always makes great topics and this idea is one of his.

Go to sleep later than usual and wake up earlier than usual.  Take a nape sometime during the day (if you go to school/highschool may I suggest trying this on a Friday night or Saturday night?)

Make sure you take a nap during the day but before you do, read a whole bunch of stuff on AP/OBEs and go to sleep though make yourself kind of uncomfortable.  Not so that you won't fall asleep but leave a radio on some white noise or something.

My spontaneous one wasn't even intended and I didn't evern have the nap so if you want, skip that, it worked for me.  Just go to be at like midnight and wake up at four. Stay awake until five then try to sleep again.

I don't know if it will work but I think you were on the way.  You were about to have one but broke it because you were so excited.

Anyway, I hope that helps.  Some people think it has something to do with age but from what I've read, it doesn't because I'm 17 and one of my friends pretty much did it the other day and she's only 15.  It's all in the intent, not the age.

See ya!

hello, ive been trying to project for a few weeks now and i thing i almost had it. i was lying in my bed and i was focusing on my heartbeat, then my body started to feel really heavy. i know how important it is not to put thought to those sensations, plus i get this far nearly every atempt but then it started to get farther. i started to feel like there was something underneath my skin that tickled where it moved it felt like a lump moving from my left hand down to my left foot and then it stoped. at this point i decided to imagine i was floating upwards then all of the suddon i believe i split my conscuionce into my astral body because i couldnt feel any of my limbs, i couldnt even tell what position they were in. my eyes were closed but it felt like the blackness of my eyelids extended way beyond just the eyelids, i felt like i could get lost in the blackness between them. i could move my limbs with just a though,,, it was a cool feeling, but i was still in my bed and it was probably only 5 seconds but it felt much longer, all of the suddon i got really, really excited and leaped out of my bed but only to find myself back in the physical body, i guess it just goes to show you how delicate of a process it is. does it sound like a projection to you people?
