Fear of whats in the dark... i think is funny, because I'm nocturnal.

Selski

Hi Kazbadan

In my honest opinion, I think it depends entirely on what you believe.  If you even slightly believe that something negative may just possibly happen, it probably will.

From my experiences, what I "think" tends to happen, so if I think about my physical body, I'm back in it before you can say boo to a goose.

And if you see something hovering in the corner of your bedroom, if you interpret it as "menacing" then you will scare yourself half to death.  But if you look at it curiously and wonder what it might be, and even send it some love vibes, you will probably have a very different experience.

An alternative would be to practice projection in the daytime, when it's light.  That way, you start your practice in a positive frame of mind.

Just my opinion.

Some people really truly believe in nasty things in the astral, and some people really truly believe that it's all in the mind.  At the moment, I'm in the latter camp, so in all my experiences, I haven't met anything "bad" so far.  Who knows, I may be proved wrong.  I hope not! [;)]

Good luck!

Hi Kazbadan,

There is a nice thread in the Welcome to Permanent Astral Topics forum entitled: Reasons why OBE's should NOT be feared:

As Selski mentioned, you may want to also think about trying when its light outside, at least until you work through the fear part.

Very best,

Given the way I AP, fear is a bad thing.  I mean I image something, sort of focus intensely and BAM I'm there.  I think the forum refers it to as "sliders"?  My point is if I were to be very afraid when I did it, I could quite easily phase into a very dark place.  I mean if I'm envisioning red-eyed negs as I'm focusing, I'd imagine I'd find some [:(]
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

Try to get a dimmer which let's you regulate the amount of light in your room.
I don't do much, and I do it well.

So, if thinking=happening is that mean that if i think in angels (or better, in a nice naked girl[:P]) does that mean that i am gonna see it, even just being a creation of the mind?

I am thinking in put a dim light in my room, just for obe and nothing more, because during day i have not opportunity to obe and i cannot sleep with normal light on because it produces to much hot (yes believe me, at least here in Portugal and in my room....) and i can get into sleep with the light on.

Do you know any kind of lamp that can be used for this?

I think that the other option it´s to clear my mind and fihgt against fear. Sometimes i have a special way to fight against fear. If i know that something bad is gonna hapen, i will blank my mind (only sometimes) in order to clean it and fight he danger situation without thinking on the consequences. It´s a little bit like "dont think, act". I will try to adapt this kind of behavior to obes.

thanks
I love you!

Thinking alone doesn't do much. You have to expect it, like you expect a scene in a movie which you have seen already.
I don't do much, and I do it well.

You could try turning on all the lights in your room then use a blindfold when you go to project.

I suppose that if fear nothing i will not have the typical hallucinations preciding an obe...

I am correct? Is it true that "nothing bad" it is the most probable (99%?) thing to find ?

Thanks

yea fear can be a tricksy one, it has its way of beating you before you can get some real work started. it ill make you presume and look for obstacles that arnt really there. ilike to start out thinking the way is clear and if it isnt ill make it clear by concentrating on the opposite of fear, keeping courage in mind, encountering and confronting, things just tend to work out better if concentrated on courage and firmly keeping the way clear.

What you want is an LED flashlight.  That's Light Emitting Diode.  Make the whole room nice and bright for about 1 watt of heat.  A candle is good for about 50 watts as a reference.  Change the brightness by shining it through something dark like sunglsses or a colored glass.

Thanks for the idea. I  liked that one about the LED light!

Begob! Are you all ignorant?

LED is of course, and without doubt, Love Embracing Deity.

What will the world become with all this 'science'! Light Emitting Diode!

But to tell the truth an Ode to the Light Emitting Di would be in order. She was quite fetching a woman.

Playing soft music all night could help as well. I think the best type of music for that purpose is baroque chamber music.

i dont have fear of darkness, but during the night, if i am willing to project (trying it) i stopmyself because i have fear of the darkness, while projecting. Due to the fact of my room being in the dark i have fear of what i can find there if i astral proejct.

I start thinking that in dark bad things can happen...

Because of that i lost my first AP today!! AHHHHAAA!
