Knocks

Last night some odd things were going on.  While holding the in between sleep/awake state (I do this as part of my meditation path) I kept getting "knocks".  They were kind of like the jerk that happens when you start to fall asleep but catch yourself.  But whereas the jerk is more like something I do to myself, this was more like an impact and it had an audible "knock" to it.  There would be one, two or three knocks, in quick succession. They continued for awhile after falling asleep, and would wake me up.
Then once there was a kind of voom-voom-voom sensation. Auditory and vibratory sensation.  That only happened once.
I've meditated for many years and have had occasional OBE through my life, but there seems be an increase in things happening over the last several months, since increasing my number of meditation retreats.
I'd appreciate any feed back.

Thanks, Rudy

Hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations. Nothing to worry about. They can be frightening sometimes but either way just ignore them. Shows your getting closer to AP though. Good work!! Anyways these sensations are telling you that your getting in touch with your energy. Which means your making progress, spiritually.

Yes, I'm familiar with hypnogogic images and sounds. There has been a recent step up in the intensity of them. Last night was like being in a storm of sound, images and body sensations. Like they were all being blow and tossed everywhere.

Sounds like your just getting very close to leaving your body. You must be in a very deep trance for this eh?? Next time it happens try and leave your body.

HI Glacius,

I'm able to do the trance state fine because of my mediation experience.  But I don't know much about leaving my body.  Should I try the rope tech. as described by Bruce?

Thanks, Rudy

Well, rope didn't work well for me but it might for you. Try as many as you can until you find one that feels like its working. Read up on the stuff. The best you can get for free is Robert Bruce's online tutorial. Its at www.astraldynamics.com Focus on chapter 4,5,6. Even if rope doesn't work for ya, this will give you a much needed understanding of exit sensations and the like. You can get his book astral dynamics. They're many other good exit techs floating around the web. www.astralsociety.com is a good place to look at exit techs. Anyways find a good one and make sure you can relax your body 100%. Relaxation is the hardest thing to do but if you can already relax good enough getting out should not be a problem.

In one of his books, Whitley Strieber described hearing a series of knocks; Three groups of three, followed by a group of two, like so:

      ...  ...  ...  ..

He seemed to think there was some significance to it.
