Quote from: TheDarkApprenticeThe human race and the earth is dying a slow death. It is too late save our planet now, especially with new uprising technology.

How optimistic of you(!)

LOL, it's never too late to save our planet, not if we do something about it now. And, no, the human race isn't dying. Where did you get that idea from?

Maybe the Mayans just ran out of room on their big, rock, circular calendar...

The earth is always changing..and yes, our modern world is abusing it an polluting it.  However, it does have remarkable self-cleansing processes.

Actually, the air from the coal burning factories and trains of the 1850's-1950's was much worse than it is today.  And the waters were filthier.  In the 60's everyone said Lake Erie was a dying lake.  It has been cleaned up and is making a comeback.

The more serious problem is the soil eroding and spreading desert areas along with the tropical rain forests being burned and/or cut down.  The irony is that the soil under those rain forests isn't even all that good for growing food or grazing food animals.   And once the forest is gone, the soil soon follows.

Real problem is just too many of us in too many places.  If we, collectively, don't control our growth rates, and even reduce the population of humanity,  then Nature may find a way to do it for us.....the natural world always moves from extremes to balances.   The only things that outnumber us are the insects, bacteria and viruses.  So where does that leave us?  We are their food, and sometimes they make us sick and die.

So which would you prefer?  The comet striking the planet scenario, nuclear winter from a nuclear war, or pandemics spread by insects?  I think all 3 have been made into popular movies so we could scare ourselves to death.

Somehow, we Americans have gotten fixated on the end of the world and I just say:  Cheer Up!  It may never happen.  And if it does it will be our chance to finally get away from it all and see if we like the afterlife.

Maybe. But that doesn't mean it can't or won't happen in real-life. I think that part of the problem is that a lot of people just bury their heads in the sand, thinking that if they don't think about it, then maybe it won't happen.

i was wondering will the world really end in 2008? I don't want it to. please tell me.
Do we really think our own thoughts, or the are the thoughts that we have others thoughts sliped to us?

and if it is going to happen, just what can any of us do to stop it?  Nothing.

Tomorrow is just an anticipation - none of us have a guarantee on it, anyway.

So live live today, and do not fret over when the world will end or change or when humans become extinct or almost extinct.....there will probably be no rhyme or reason why one person survives and 100 do not.  At least not any reason that we are likely to understand.

But our fascination with disaster scenarios is becoming extreme.  Maybe we, collectively, think we deserve it.  Maybe we look around at all the suffering elsewhere in the world, and feel guilty because we are not living lives of abject poverty and semi-starvation.

Change is the order of the universe and certainly of our world.  Things will change in thousands of ways.  Yet, oddly, I think that until most of  humankind truly evolves, it will stay the same as generation after generation experiences the same events - just the details will change.

I also think that the more people that focus on some terrible thing happening to humanity and our planet, the more likely it will become manifest in this reality.

In essence, terrible things happen in every time.  Also some wonderful things.  Change, even serious ones or dramatic ones, do not mean the end of all life, only a change in the lives we live and how we live them.

Enjoy the peace of the day.

The Mayans were not nearly as primitive as you suggest they are.  On the contrary they were extremely advanced and recognize patterns in the cosmos we have only began to recognize.

I have had a feeling the world would end on christmas, as you see we are still here, but I thought of somthing else.  In the bible it says we will have seven years of hell before or during the end (im not totally sure).  On christmas day the tsunami happened, then an earth quake in china.  Thats it so far but its only jan 20.  Even though this happened in 2004 it happened on the birth of jesus.  7 years from 2005 is 2012.  The year the mayans predicted to be the end.  Im sure this is crap but i dont know, maybe theres somthing to it. so im thinking christmas day 2011 the world will end. :?

I read from official homepage of Edgar Cayce and from few other sites, that Edgar Cayce did not gave out precise years, and precise predictions about future events. In official website it's even said that many yellow papers are faking Edgar Cayce's messages to attract readers.

Does anyone has the genuine collection of Edgar Cayce's readings, and can he/she confirm this message in opening post?

Quote from: Wronski FeintIn the bible it says we will have seven years of hell before or during the end (im not totally sure).

Many numbers in the Bible should be taken symbolically. Although it's possible that some of them should be taken literally.

There has been worser catastrophes than those in history. And people always like to say: the end is near!! as soon as they happen. While one day they might be right on that, then until then we should be very critical about such predictions.

P.S. The birth of Jesus most probably did not happened during Christmas. It was LABELLED as birth of Jesus by official Christianity that hate anything what had pagan origin.

EDITED: The Mayas predicted something will happen in the end of 2012, not 2011.

Mayas did not predicted that the world is ending in 2012, but that some major change will happen. At least it's what i have read. If someone thinks that they predicted the end of the world, then please, give a quote here and the source

Cheer up people. There are so MANY false predictions in near history, and far history (you can do your search on Religioustolerance website about them), that it almost discredits the whole idea of world end. Although IMO it's highly possible that this world where we live does come to end one day, i suggest everyone to be more sceptical about predictions and use their sound mind and read history  :D

Cheers  :D

I know what you mean by many disasters happining and every one freaking out.  When 9/11 happend here in america people kept saying that it was in the bible and many ancient text said this would happen and all that bull, the world would end within the year, blah blah.  But i think if the world ends it will be on jesus' birth weather it is chritmas or another day.

To continue the discussion: Why do you think that it will happen in Jesus' birth day? It's just interesting for me. And how do you know when Jesus really was born as we don't have historical facts about the date?

I don't want to sound like moron, but it's still interesting idea what you brought up  :D

Wronski Feint

I really dont know.  Somthing just tells me thats the way itll be.  And I dont trust history, mainly because people recorded it and they can be missinformed, secondly becasue I have a theory on about the present changing the past.

Quote from: G3MM4I've been spending hours reading an ebook that is about NDEs, and there were some predictions in it about world events that will happen. Here is an extract from page 156:

From 1992 to 2012, great natural distasters will happen such as earthquakes, floods, tidal waves, and weather changes. Earthquakes will strike the eastern coast of the U.S. Japan will slip into the ocean. There will be three days of darkness from the explosion of volcanoes. Ultimately, these natural distasters will stop. Humanity will always have the light. - Cassandra Musgrave

There are more predictions on pages 154 - 157. The ebook can be downloaded free here.

Many of these predictions are about the weather, natural disasters, and other things. Well worth reading if you're interested in that sort of thing.

By the way, I was reading a psychic column in a magazine last month (yes I know psychic columns are "uncool" lol) and the psychic (Ruth Urquhart) was saying more or less the same as what I've mentioned above, she was saying something about massive earthquakes in the US, and in Japan. Nothing new there. But what struck me as interesting was what she said about worldwide economy and the stock market. Apparently the stock market will end up similar to what happened in the Wall Street thing last century, and worldwide economy will suffer as a result. I don't know if that will happen or not, but we'll see.

On another note, I was reading one of Bruce Moen's books where he was shown that the number of humans on Earth will be drastically reduced.

QuoteFor the first time in 38 years, American Indians on Oregon's Columbia River have harvested a surplus of summer chinook salmon. 120,000 salmon are making the summer run upriver, compared to only 15,000 in the mid-1990's, the second-highest rate since 1960. The return of unusually abundant chinook, each weighing 20-30 pounds and fetching $2 per pound, is due to several factors, including improved habitat, the nutrient level of the water, hatchery operations, and harvest management.

That stuff on Bush apparently is true according to how many sources carry the information if you do a Google search on Bush and anti-depressants. I also found a site about the guy who made the claims and what exactly he diagnosed Bush with.

QuoteThe most concise and frank, yet compassionate account of George W. Bush's multiple mental disorders can be found in the 2004 book-length study by  Bush on the Couch : Inside the Mind of the President - [Link has 54 customer reviews] Dr. Justin Frank, (New York: HarperCollins, 2004). Dr. Frank is a leading psychoanalyst who teaches at George Washington University Medical Center. His professional credentials are impressive, and his in-depth study of the President, based on massive amounts of public documentation—autobiographical and biographical accounts, countless hours of video footage of the President, statements by close associates and relatives, spanning nearly the entirety of George W. Bush's lifetime—presents a compelling case that Mr. Bush is in need of medical assistance.

QuoteMr. Bush suffers from a range of serious, albeit curable conditions. These include: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); untreated and uncured alcoholism (what is frequently referred to in lay terms as "dry drunk"); an omnipotence complex; paranoia; an Oedipal Complex; sadism; a mild form of Tourette's Syndrome; and a diminished capacity to distinguish between reality and fantasy.

Now someone come along and say something clever like... If you support Bush, then you better support the end of the world.  For such a hated man, he is one smart cookie and really gets around.

Lots of family connections, that's what it looks like from outside the USA anyway. Lots of family help :-). Among other things...but what am I on about. I wouldn't want to lead any country no matter what so there is some respect due at least a little for someone who will attempt the job.
I'm still not a supporter though! :-)...only reacting to the above post

Lots of connections in general when you're wealthy, your dad's Bush Sr., and you're a member of Skull and Bones, and the Republican Party, and in the oil business. Look up a biography of Cheney or Rumsfeld, though. Those guys have been around, and for no single person or no group with much of a reputation for any good purpose, unless you think Nixon was a good president, or Halliburton is an honest, trustworthy company.

I'm sure he has similar connections, but then again he's not the president of our country, is he? Don't think I wouldn't be putting him down if he was. Bush is no less of a fascist nut job either way.
