whats a kundalini?

Kundalini is a mostly dormant energy in the base chakra. Hatha yoga uses pranayama (breathing exercises) and bandhas ("locks", methods to keep energy being raised from draining out of the chakras) to activate kundalini. When the prana and apana (two specific currents in the body) reverse direction and meet in the area of the third chakra they collide and heat up. This activates the kundalini. It is an unusually powerful sort of energy. If you want details you should look in books on yoga or wait for Robert Bruce to finish his next book "Kundalini Dynamics" and get it published.

A while back I read that if you want to develop clairvoyance you should develop ways of turning it off as well as on. It would be unpleasant to be distracted from important tasks on the physical place such as driving a car every time some ghost chose to fly by. Also, some things are unpleasant to look at and covering your physical eyes is less effective for censoring clairvoyance.

My guess is that the 3rd eye / 6th chakra was involved.

I have that "problem" but I didn't do anything to get it.  I was born that way I guess.  The only thing I have noticed is that through consentration, practice, and energy raising you can effect the strength of it.  

I believe that any focused mediation towards the goal of being more aware of your enviroment would have that side effect.  But I do not know if there is any thing that could be done to create the ability specifically or only.  I do not think you can activate that alone with energy raising with out getting a slew of other things as well.  But I do think that it is possible to achieve that result but with others going with it also.

Just a side note, I am not the affore mentioned person, but I do see things/people.  It is not as clear as the movie The Sixth Sence but I get shapes, shadows, faded, and half or partial images.  The major problem being it has the potential to drive a person crazy if they don't get control over it.

Tom....I'm really excited about Robert's new book.  Can you tell me a little bit more about kundalini?  If you raise it correctly at the right time does it create enlightenment?  I heard people can become "genius's"  when they raise they're kundalini.....is this true?  I'm sure there's tons of more stuff about kundalini.....would you mind enlightening me?  Thanks

you know there WOULD be the possiblity of searching for 'kundalini' with the forum search function before asking a question ... it's called 'doing your homework', but clicking on "search" and typing "kundalini" is just too damn exhausting, right?

Hey a few years back I read a thread about ghost stories.There was someone on there claiming they could see dead people walking around at all times.Kind of like the Sixth Sense I guess.

This guy said he did something he shouldnt have done.I was guessing maybe he raised the kundalini and was not ready?He didnt want to say so nobody would try to do it themselves.

Have you ever heard of anything like this happening?He sounded pretty sincere about it.
