Maybe you were just running out of energy, seems like there is a limit to staying out od body. I had an experience the other night that made me wonder if once we start projecting we no longer just hover over our bodies while asleep but wander around the house-I found myself in front of my door to the outside-cannot remember what went before, just seem to materialize out of a fog, must have realizes i was obe cause i just stuck my foot thru the door to test it.Unfortunately I was unable to turn it into a decent obe. Anyone else just become aware like that?

I will sometimes become of aware in a dream then lose it a second later (losing lucidity).  One time I wanted to climb a building like spiderman.  Realising I was dreaming I tried it out.  It didn't work so I flew as I was rising I was sidetracked by something and thrust into the fold of the dream.

according to carrington and muldoon when you dream of flying it is often you exiting your body. Could be!

Next time I become lucid I will try to ask if there is a way to extend awareness,or build energy  to make projection/lucid dreams last longer. The "awareness now!" thing works, but maybe there is something else to do as well.I have often wondered if it is possible to build and modify our energetic makup while we are projecting,in order to accomplish various tasks (extention of projection time, building psychic energy for use in the physical, removing negative energy that manifests in the physical as illness,etc.).I intend to find out if this is possible.I have always found that if you need to know ANYTHING, the best time and  place to ask is during a lucid dream.

Nice experience jason.

Too much awareness also seems to bring me back quickly. I found it helpful to be discrete, keep my lucidity secret, and don't think too much.

I don't know for sure why your request didn't work in the real time zone, what I think is that it could be that your conscious mind was playing the greater role than when you were on the astral plane, and the conscious mind has some limitations compared to the subconscious.

If you want to meet people then call out their names 3 times and they will appear to you. I'm still trying to figure out how to go to places. Requesting sometimes will do it. Flying is not always a good way to get somewhere specially because distance is just a 'convenient perspective' of the astral, it's like looking at a painting, you can see the depth of the structures but it's actually all in front of you. I noticed that when I stretched out my arm and grabbed a leaf from a tree that was about 20 meters away from me. Really puzzling.

Yah, it happened a few times. Once I found myself floating over my wardrobe and I thought what the hell was I doing there,  I was afraid I was going to fall and then when I did I was back. Once I was aware of being on the outside of my bedroom's window sill, and one other time I was standing on the neighbour's roof. I thought there was really something important to the experiences I was having when I found myself coming back from somewhere, maybe outside the planet, I was floating on my back, to my house, and I could see the full Moon. When I woke up I went outside and saw the Moon, in the same place that I had seen it , the same way, the same sky.

Hi Andrewthesinger.Your idea of the concious mind limitations in the RTZ seems to make a lot of sense.A good idea would be to strengthen the connection to the subconcious mind through more meditation,in order to access it more readily in the RTZ.Maybe the requests for clarity and attention would be answered easier that way.I'll have to try that calling of the name 3 times thing. There are several beings I have encountered that I would like to learn more about.Maybe they can teach me something. One was a guide named Etukai. She(how is that possible?) was very friendly, and obviously of a higher order, but she seemed to have a hard time understanding our connection between spelling and pronouncing  the english language.I think she used the letters symbolically different somehow ,so the spelling isn't the same as the pronunciation(She said it was spelled Tannn). She gave me a box that said "in constant harmony".Very interesting...

Jason- take the shortcut!

There was no need to travel down the road and turn northwest- all you had to do was think of your mother and picture being with her! It's the astral, just think of a place and you'll be there.

It works, I've done it. I had a man I loved I wanted to go see. Once I got out of body I simply thought of him and projected directly into his house.

I didn't need to walk out the front door, and go down the street making left and right turns like driving a car. Just remember that all the rules of time and space no longer apply.

Leyla-That's true.I forgot about that! ,however I do enjoy seeing the landscape go by.I also find that it decreases the risk of reality fluctuations.Although I guess I'd have to do the instantanious travel technique if I had to travel a very long distance.Even at the astonishing speeds that the astral body is capable of travelling at,there are many places in the universe that are just too far away.

I believe I had my frst OBE last night, it lasted only maybe 15 seconds and I was not able to really see anything but the sensations were overwhelming.  I am wondering why this would be?  If anyone has the time to check out my story I would really appreciate your honest feedback.  Thank you!

Hellohttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>and congrats on your first OBE! I wouldn't worry about not being able to see at first, you just have to give your energy body used to the experience. It will improve with use.You could also request better vision during the experience ,maybe that will help? Your desciption of feeling like you were "plugged into something, radiating energy,so strong I could barely handle it" sounds very familiar.I'll never forget the first time I experienced the vibrations. It was about 11 years ago.I felt like I had massive amounts of voltage running through mehttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_shock.gif" border=0>the experience was terrifyingly beautiful.Over time they became much less violent, eventually increasing in frequency or pulse. Now they are a pleasant feeling of warmth.A side effect to astral projection I would like to warn everyone about, that I have noticed over the years is less of a tolerance for mundane,"normal" life. After feeling like you are plugged into the entire universe, exploring other realitys,or firing yourself into space at thousands of miles an hour, how can you possibly feel like you "belong" in a mundane society of money, stupidity, and short sightedness. It's all so small...All I can think about or search for now is freedom.

when you returned to your body after saying awareness now even if you couldn't say it just thinking of it is good enough you should of immediately rolled out when you saw yourself on your bed sometimes you maybe in your bed with closed eye-lids I did that one time just looking at objects and being aware it was a lucid dream then shutting the dream down paying attention to the humming sound in my ear made me go back to my body but I immediately rolled out when that happened also when I got out I couldn't see all you do is say I can see now and was stuck to my body and say loosen now, much easier than doing the rope technique even that works as well.  I remember one time in my life a demon tried to enter my lucid dream and scare me/brainwash me and I told it get lost and it waved its head no, I said to myself oh ya, and I started to say the creed as soon as I said I believe in J before I said Jesus just said the J word I woke up from my lucid dream my body numb too (usually happens when I astral project) its always good to believe in God once you put your focus on him those things flee, they don't stick around to get clobbered by angels/good spirits or God etc..

This is my latest attempt at astral projection using lucid dreaming.I suddenly became lucid in a dream after getting back into meditation for the past few days.I  was in a huge hallway, with big arched windows and stone walls, overlooking a landscape.I knew the importance of keeping focus so I stated loudly "awareness now!".I repeated it a few times.Things got clearer, more colorfull, and I became more aware.I had to really focus for a few seconds to remember what I wanted to do. I then said "I want to go to the real time zone".I left the dreamscape behind and descended in the "sky" of the astral realm.I descended to earth thru the skyhttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_shock.gif" border=0>http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_big.gif" border=0>(that was cool!).My intention was to visit my mother in guelph, ontario.I ended up near niagara falls in the light of the morning.Compared to the dreamscape, things  were much more solid looking.I  was floating several hundred feet in the air, trying to remember which direction to go in to reach guelph.I remembered I had to go northwest,so I flew over lake ontario. My attention was starting to fade,so I tried to say loudly "awareness now!",but my voice didn't work! I lost my awareness and returned to my body.I strongly reccomend trying lucid dreaming as a gateway to astral projection. If you have enough concious power, ask questions, and state where you would like to go,it seems that you can find any information,or travel anywhere in the universe. The key is to extend the time you are aware. The technique I stated earlier worked in the dreamscape, but not in the real time zone.Does anyone have any ideas why?, or experiences they would like to share? It would be nice to explore the universe all night, while my body gets the rest it needshttp://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>
