I've never had a problem of falling asleep while meditating. MAybe it's the matter of having a clear intent. If I just flop onmy back and relax I will blink out in no time.

As for angles, what feels comfortable is what I'd say.
Then again I'm still strictly speaking a wannabe http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile_wink.gif" border=0> so others may disagree. But based on what I've experienced comfort is almost a necessity for maintaining your concentration long enough for results.

also another thing i'd like to bring up is something i read on another site the other day. it says to lie down in bed how you would normally get into trance but tilt your head to one side, it says it may be slightly uncomfortable and ur body may try and straighten itself up, you should ignore this and try and induce a trance state like this because as your projected double is generated it will also follow the alignment of ur body. when it is generated inside ur physical it will also try to straighten, however u cant stop this... which is a good thing. because ur projected double will move its head into alignment but ur physical head wont be... voila... head seperation, this should induce the major vibrations and u can work from there.

i havent even tried this but this is from an article i read on another site... might be worth a try... but i dont really wanna wake up with neck cramp ;)

Whoa, that's an interesting idea. When I try and separate, my head always imperceptibly tilts in the direction I'm trying to roll out. I wonder if my head was tilted one way, and I was trying to roll out the other way...

Anyway, here's a fun, non-obvious meditation posture:

Lie on your back, with the soles of your feet touching together. (Your knees will be bent, and your legs spread open. Then, put the palms of your hands ttogether, or rest your hands on your stomach. Then breath abdominally, inhaling and exhaling into the sub-navel storage center.

This is great for storing energy/charging up. Energy can't escape through your hands and feet.

hey kifyre that sounds pretty good, i prefer to have my legs a little bent when i relax cause it is uncomfortable to have ur legs dead straight... does this method work well? i might give it a try :)

Well when I just want to meditate I just go into the Lotus posture. It does take some flexiblity though. Basically you sit cross legged except that each foot is ontop of the other leg. (http://www.santosha.com/asanas/padma.html) It´s good for meditation.

When I try to obe (havn´t done it yet, I don´t think atleast) I just lie down. I think the trick is to lie down as if you´re dead. Most times when I try to obe I normally become too conscious of my breath and it fluctuates because of that. *Shrugs*

Gotta keep working on it.

I would just like to make a comment here.  As far as positions go for projections.....I was able to project for the first time by laying on my side in bed as I went to sleep.  This is the most comfortable and relaxing position for me so I think that whatever position you naturally use to be the most relaxed is what you should use.  Its more important to raise energy through your body, focus on your third eye and concentrating on being out of your body somewhere in the room then it is to be in a specific position.

As far as meditation position, I always sit cross legged on a pillow on the floor. I tend to have my legs off the front of the pillow a little with it more to the rear to support my back. I position my hands according to what I learned in Buddhist meditation. My hands are positioned over my folded legs in the center, palms up.  The right hand is over the top of the left hand and I touch the tips of my thumbs together.  This creates an opening where it is said that energy is drawn through and up into you.

I hope this help.  Cheers!

Like, you know? What position do you take when you're meditating or trying to go obe?

I'm just wondering what sort of positions are comfortable and easy to relax it, so I can try some and see if any work for me.

I need a signature that isn't stupid. :/
