:?i am a christian and love to be in relationship with God.......but after hearing some things im starting to wonder how much of the things ive been taught are true and how many are man made. can you please let me know some things that you all know or some links to some info? and to make it clear i dont doubt God i doubt man.

Woah

God is still real to those who believe in Astral Projection.
Christianity is worshiping Jesus.
You can still believe in God if you believe in Astral Projection and out of body experiences, they show us that there is much more to life, which is here because of God.
Jesus was a man who was possibly enlightened in a way, so he had 'powers'. Or, he was normal and the whole Davinci Code thing is true.
But you can still believe in God, for sure. :)

no i still beleive in both God and Jesus i just realise that some and possibly alot of things that i base my faith on could be decicded upon by man for his own gain (certain pagan things adopted, election upon what religious documents will be released to the public, secrets kept from the general public by the church etc.) im a christian i just want to make sure i dont go aournd and ignorant one.

and im no authority on the bible but nothing ive read says there is anything is wrong with esp. it says that basing faith on these people instead of on God is wrong and using powers granted from evil spirits or things that are not of God. esp is a natural thing so it should be treated as such. just because the occult use esp doesnt mean esp is evil....i bet the occult use planes and go to nathans but does that mean we should stop flying and eating hot dogs? (lol had to throw that one in)

Gangta,

Get hold of a copy of New Revalations by Neale Donalde Walsche.
It will really give you something to think about there.

Blessings,
James.

Don't know if anyone saw or read the Gospel of Judas. National Geographical Society has a free copy on their website and they also aired a tv show about it a few months back. I thought it was really thought provoking. One of the many things in the bible that never really made sense to me was that Jesus was supposed to be able to have all of these powers (vision, healing, prophecy, etc), and yet he gets 'deceived' by one of his own hand-picked men. This gospel basically says that the bible got it wrong. Judas was 'more enlightened' than the other disciples and was asked by Jesus to betray him.

If you believe that Jesus was crucified as the bible describes, then only one of two things could have happened to cause this event. One is that Jesus knowing selected Judas because he needed to be betrayed and crucified and he could see far enough in to this man's heart to know he would do it. The second is that he needed someone who truly understood what had to happen and selected Judas because of his ability to grasp what needed to be done and his strength of will and character to 'betray' his master. Keep in mind Judas would not be able to tell anyone of this, so he would need to do this knowing that all of history would condemn him for the act.

I'm not saying that I believe either scenario. However, if Jesus was as powerful as the bible describes him, then I can not believe that he was unwittingly deceived. He had to know what would happen long before it happened, not just during the last supper. So if this was one of those things that the other desciples were simply not ready to grasp or understand, what else does the bible teach that falls in to that category?
Reality is what you perceive it to be.

well as far as judas goes i beleive it could go either way. one.....jesus knew that judas would betray him but feigned ignorance so that the events could play out as they did. or two.....what the book of judas says. what i find disturbing is that God gave us the word...but man chose to praise and discard which ever books they pleased. like im starting to see that councils VOTED on what books would be in the New Testament and VOTED on what would be taught as right and Holy. and alot of this was done with a politcal ambition not with religious piety (like adopting pagan elements to attract more people). I dont doubt God or Jesus.....but i wonder if im REALLY doing what im supposed to.......

Gangta the bible is a man-made book.

A lot of things in there in my opinion are based on facts, but aren't facts itself. People always have the tendency to tell events more colourfull then they are.
Think of water into wine...... now what purpose does it have to do this? Did God intend people to get drunk? I don't think so....
what probably happened was that Jesus threw a good party for his friends where everything was on the house or something. I really have no clue what really happened, but it does not seem very Godlike to turn water into wine.
It could also just have a symbolic meaning. Water is very plain, wine is joyfull. Maybe he gave the people alot of joy on that occasion.

A few things:  First of all I am going to leave out the speculation about historicity vs. mythology- that's for another discussion- just a few thogughts about what's in the Bible now.
Quotejesus knew that judas would betray him but feigned ignorance so that the events could play out as they did.
Remember that in the Bible Jesus tells the apostles in an indirect way that he would be betrayed (Tonight there will be one less of you here).  So he didn't pretend not to know, he knew, and he practically told them what was going to happen.
And the thing about turning wine into blood and bread into body:  This was something that was practiced long before Christianity- it had to do with prechristian mystery cults (specifically Mithraic cult.)  Whether Jesus borrowed it or it was 'written into it' by Mithra worshippers afterwards, you be the judge.

Jesus is not the answer, Jesus holds the key to the answer Jesus holds the "truth" Muhammed holds the truth, Abraham holds the truth, Adam holds the truth along with all the prophets, the answer and the truth is God and ONLY god himself, He who is the worth of all praise the beneficial the merciful!

"And behold Allah will say: "O Jesus the son of Mary Did you say to men, Worship me and my mother as gods besides Allah He will say-"Glory to you I could never say what I had no right (to say')" (Soorah Al-Maa'idah- 5:116)

"For We assuredly sent amongst every people a prophet,(with the command) worship meand avoid false gods " (Soorsh Al-Nahl 16:36)

"Verily those who believe, those who follow the Jewish (Scriptures), the Christians and the Sabians any who believe In Allah and the last day, and work righteousness *hall have their reward with their Lord; They will not be overcome by fear nor grief (Soorah Al-Baqarah 2:62).

If only they had stood by the law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. There Is from among them a party on the right course; but many of them follow a course that Is evil.". (Soorah Al-.Maa'idah 5:66)

Every Religion has some truth to it, they all come from the same essential roots and the same source. Although, I belive the final and clear insightful truth to be the holy Quran:) Muhammed pbuh received the final revelation the final message from God. Muhammed taught the society of Mecca whom at the time were pagan and tehre entire land was engulfed in slavery, protitution, alcohol consumption, idolatry. Muhammed pbuh, brought Islam to the world teaching peace, justice liberty. The slaves were bought by the muslims then freed, in fact 1 of the slaves named Bilal went on top of the city reciting the call to prayer, this was an act to show the world that all men have equal rights. I belive that Man has NO where as near perfection as God himself. God gave us all free will to act accordingly with clear and divine guidance from the Holy quran.
