Hey

Just a quick question about Hypnogogic images.
Are these images full blown images full of detail or are they just blobs of colour forming images?
Or can they be both?

The reason why I ask this is that I mostly see full blown images while in an awake state, and while I'm falling asleep I always see the 'blobs of colour' forming images?

These are not necessarily meant to be Hypnogogia, since Hypnogogia is based mainly on sensations. These could quite possibly be your abstract thoughts and when it becomes blurry is when you are losing consciousness because you are on the verge of falling asleep.

I have found the Hypnogogia to be mostly impressions.  Like sensing a color coming from your side vision into view, or abstract images forming.  Whereas once you are viewing a fully detailed scene, perhaps you are already seeing into the Astral Plane.  Just my opinion....

My opinion on them is that consciousness seeps into the etheric slowly as we fall asleep. Our thoughts become tangible, dream-like, vivid. External stimuli can trigger a chain reaction of thoughts and hypnogogic imagery will come as a response.

Essentially, when they become very vivid, they're not hypnogogic imagery anymore, they're dreams.

I have had absolutely stunning imagery. The really clear stuff flashes on for about a second or two. Something quite memorable was a picture of a tired man getting off a throne. It just pops before your eyes.
