Lucid dream where I couldn't wake up.

I've had one other Lucid dream before, but I can't quite remember it. The dream I am about to share was quite an experience. It might seem frightening to some and it was little at the time, but I am quite thrilled to have even had one.

The time it happened was in the morning. A couple of years ago I woke up and thought about how much life kind of sucked. My family wasn't  the happiest and it was my first year of middle school so that kind of stunk too. So I don't get out of bed right away. I just kind of think there ungratefully thinking about how another life would be better. Well I ended up falling back asleep.

In my dream I was in my body when it was two years old. There was a family that had decided to adopt me. I knew I was dreaming. I told them no, but who would listen to a two year old. I started to realize that I might be stuck there after countless attempts to awaken myself. I tried screaming "Wake up!" at the top of my lungs and throwing things at walls hoping they would shatter or something and I would wake up but I just couldn't wake up. I tried talking with my 'mother' and 'father' and told them I was in a dream and I couldn't wake up. They just kind of chuckled but then we all (including some 'brothers' and 'sisters') had to go to a court and there was a place where the judge sat. There might have been a jury but they all started discussing on what they were to do with me. The family wanted to keep custody of me. I wasn't allowed to talk. Points were argued back and forth and the judge seemed indecisive. Then finally the juge leaned over his podium and looked at me and asked me if I wanted to remain there. I answered "No" he replied "Very well" and I instantly woke up.

After waking up I realized how bratty some of my thoughts were and was grateful for the life I was living.

This Lucid dream was uncontrollable as far as I could tell. Anyone else had any dreams like this? Where they couldn't wake up? I wasn't really scared. Especially after waking up. I was kind of excited.

I always have very vivd dreams.  I dont know if they are Lucid or not because I never take full control.  But I always feel the environment around me.  The smells, the lights, the tempature, and other senses.  I have never been able to take full control, because right when I realize I am dreaming I wake up.  But sometimes when I wake up I keep the dream going, but it is not as vivid. <----does that make sense?

Like you wake up, decide you like the dream, and try to continue to have it? Yeah I've done that before too and I understand how it isn't vivid.

But what I experienced here was in opposition to everything I've read. I've read that lucid dreams can be very easy to wake up from because the realization of dreaming is such a shock. I couldn't wake up. I tried as hard as I could to and couldn't until the judge let me go.

I have never had anything like that before and most LDs that I have had end when I find out it is a dream and decide to take control.

This sounds like your higher self, God, or someone thought you needed to learn a lesson of gratefulness. From your post it sounds like you did. Good job.
