Hey, I'm a frequent weed smoker, multiple times a day usually, and I usually blaze before I meditate. When I do this I am much more aware of the energy in the world and in myself and I am much more relaxed, sort of a thing I picture to help me with my meditation. I am just wondering, and if your going to be a biased anti drug type of person please don't reply, does toking up before help with meditation more then it prevents it? Does it even prevent? I haven't noticed anything bad and alot of good during my stoned meditation but I still haven't projected yet so I don't really know. Please don't reply unless you have actually tried projecting whilst stoned.

Hitoshura

and, just off topic, is it better to meditate in light or dark?

Envix

whatever works for you, man. It's different for everyone.
As for me, cannabis works great with meditation, but not so much projecting. I need a clear mind and complete concentration to project. but like I said, it's different for everyone.

as for the second question, same response. though brain chemistry seems to work more interestingly in the dark.

Stookie

Pot might be able to get you into some sort of a trance state, but I wouldn't expect to have the focus and concentration needed for a proper projection.

The drug induced experience will be quite different from a sober one. Drugs can help you have experiences, but is it the kind of experiences you want? If so, then hey, go for it.

When you blaze (or whatever the slang might be) you give up control and focus to the drug, or else the drug will not be working its magic obviously.

Control and focus is important in having the clear, lucid experiences which I personally want to have. I have not used drugs, but I know people who do and we have shared notes about our experiences after wards. Almost always the drug induced ones were harder to remember properly and featured less control over what was actually happening.

Light or dark really does not matter.

If I do energy work when I'm faded it works great. But when If I'm faded and try to get into a trance state i just fall asleep. Actually i would recommend hash or energy work. It gives a better "body high". The herb these days is to strong for me to completely control the energy work, but I guess you can just smoke less.

Steele

i think it works better in the dark especially with darkness being all calm. light for me is more sporadic if thats how one spells that word. i can concentrate more in the dark.

Celest

I was a frequent smoker as well..probably more then most stoners. I put it to the side because other things required more awareness and focus. It was just a stage, but i learned much from it..and plan to use it in moderation and occasion, i love her to much to abuse mary jane.

as for projection..it has increased dramaticly becuase of my keen focus and determination.

"Smoking marijuana - Though there is controversy as to whether or not smoking marijuana is good or bad, I personally don't consider marijuana or any other illegal substance to be healthy. Smoking marijuana does increase alpha brainwaves, which is why smoking marijuana makes people feel relaxed. Marijuana will not give you the aware, synchronized, peak-performance alpha brainwave that most people are striving for."

Astral projection occurs more within the Theta-state I believe.  But who knows, I will have to experiment myself once I become more adept at OBE.

I am pretty addicted to weed, smoking multiple times a day, and it's been having no noticable effect on my progress. In fact my best OBE experience out of the few I've had (since childhood) would be one where I smoked pot before it. Not to say it helps, but I don't think it hinders like many non-pot smokers claim. You won't be visited by demons for having made it to OBE prematurely. It isn't a shortcut anymore than it is an assistant. If it works for you, great. Just don't rely on it, nor dwell on whether it is or isn't helping. If you're .001% focused on what the weed is doing, you're not 100% focused on what you need to do to project.

Sorry for in advance for OT comment.

You write very well, I assume you have a job, use a computer and have enough tech savey to  keep it running. Great advice on being focused.
And you're stoned all the time? That seems amazing to me. Do you think that if you could quit weed you would realize the potential of genius?

I'm a college student with a job, and eat very healthy/ work out regularly as a way to offset most negative effects. I'm probably in the best physical shape in my life, though I get a ton of anxiety just knowing I'm running low on the stuff. It's not something I plan to do forever, just have to get my life on track first. Thanks for the compliment, though.

You're welcome! Best wishes on your journey.

I once had quite a shocking experience during my experimentation with Marijuana, I smoked quite a lot this particular session and felt i had to lay down or basically fall down. I went to my bedroom, experimented with energies and then started to fall asleep.

It wasn't soon after I realized i was looking down at my resting body. I don't know how long i was observing myself.. it felt as if i'd been doing it for a while but couldn't consciously make that connection. It was like snapping out of a day dream.

Pot expands certain levels of our being. Mainly , from my experience the mental body. which is a way of "letting go" to those unconcious beliefs that can hinder us astral travelling or meditating. however, it hinders us on other levels which limit us...
