***MEDICATION*** (I am tired)

Hey folks.

Just a quick question here...

I am currently seeing a naturopathic doctor for extremely bad anxiety, ADD, Tourettes, and some other health issues I have to deal with. I have had my fair share of medications in the past but will only take them if they are natural. Some of the medications I were on in the past were extremely potent. (Side effects etc.) I soon decided to stay away from all that and go the natural route. It has been a long tough road for me and it is very hard to make new friends from all of this. I am never giving though. I haven't experienced an OBE yet, but just reading about them makes me feel better. I am trying to learn meditation as well. My question here is... currently I am on a natural med called Kavinace. I take Kavinace and Melatonin most nights. Will these supplements interfere with being able to astral project? Or make it more difficult? A few years ago when I took a melatonin it would put me in a sleep paralysis state usually when I woke up. I was severely depressed and slept all day though. It would also give me nightmares. Now a days it just seems to put me to sleep a little quicker. It don't want it interfering with being able to astral project though. Can anyone fill me in on this? I would really appreciate it. I hope everyone has been well!

They will only interfere if you think they will!

Hmm, not wanting to sound negative but I am not sure this is the case with medication.  If you look at all forms of medication as drugs, you have to then put them into the same bracket as alcohol and other recreational drugs too.  Many people have trouble projecting whilst under the influence of certain drugs.

I am not familiar with either of the medications the OP is taking but I know from past experience that drugs (namely alcohol) which affect the mind, depending on quantities, most certainly had an affect on my ability to project.  Yes, projection is essentially disassociation from the body, but in order to disassociate the (physical) mind and body must be in a certain state.  Some drugs aid this, some hinder it.

Hopefully someone with experience with these particular substances can provide a better answer :)

Well, honestly... why do you think the placebo effect is getting harder and harder for the pharmacy business to beat?  :)
Because, when it comes right down to it, I believe our medication is "more" of the mind than of what's in the pill.

I understand that, but the fact remains certain drugs do indeed affect our body.  Imagine trying to project on cocaine!  It would not work!

Like I said, I dont know about the drugs mentioned but I dont think you can make a blanket statement saying that medication only affects you if you think it will.

From what you say it sounds like you would not to take the drugs if they would have an adverse effect on projection attempts.

That means you're able to get by without the drugs. As a general rule I would say going without drugs is always better if you dont need them.

That is not necessarily true. If you learned to control Cocaine to project than you would succeed. There are scientists of the past that used LSD as a method as well. I remember when I was younger I took Acid a couple of times. I did the unthinkable on it, I went to sleep 1 hour after taking it. Everyone said it would be impossible, but i did. Mind over matter!

Hey folks.

Thank you for all your replies!

I thought I would just go ahead and say again that these medications that I am on are indeed natural. They do not have any side effects either. I believe she told me it is alot of stuff that Indians used. I know Kava Kava...(Hope I spelled that right) is in fact in this pill that I take. Lots of good minerals and such.

I appreciate the replies!

LSD is VERY different to cocaine!  LSD in my opinion, HELPS achieve altered states of consciousness.

In the end I think that every case is different.  Certain drugs in certain quantities taken by different people will almost certainly affect them differently.  There are always debates on here about whether weed or booze helps or hinders projection and there are always people on both sides of the fence.  All I was trying to get across is that I dont think its correct to say that drugs only affect you if you think they will.  Drugs have varied effects on everyone.

hehe  All my point was that what AB just mentioned... that drugs have varied effects on everyone.  :)
