If you listen to the last few minutes of this, she explains the difference between an OBE and a lucid dream. Makes sense to me (they are basically the same, a lucid dream is just a precursor to an OBE which is has been my experience).

The difference, and she is saying this yet she just doesn't seem to have made this connection yet, is that it's all about your AWARENESS.
All experiences are based entirely around not WHAT you experience, but HOW you experience it; how AWARE you are while you experience it.

Dreaming isn't something you do... it's a state of consciousness that you are.  You ARE completely unaware that you're experiencing the non-physical.  Yet you ARE experiencing the non-physical... it's every bit as much of a projection as anything else.  This physical reality is a projection of consciousness.

Lucid Dreaming isn't something you do... it's a state of consciousness that you are.  You ARE aware that you're non-physical, yet you aren't fully awake... meaning you might not really understand or know who you are or have any of your waking memories.
Astral Projection isn't something you do... it's a state of consciousness that you are.  You ARE fully awake and aware that you're non-physical.

The question of "OBE vs Lucid Dream" stems from a misunderstanding of WHAT dreams are.  Humanity hasn't even begun to figure it out yet, because most people are stuck in this physical-mode of thinking.  Most people are unable to allow themselves to open to a possibility beyond that yet.  They simply can't allow themselves to do so, because to do so would destroy a lot of our concepts of what it means to be "us".

Yes, it's all a continuum of consciousness and how we personally translate that as we reach higher states (which for me has changed over time - now there are shortcuts to what used to be a more laborious 'process' of reaching the same point).

For some reason, when I have the sensation of an OBE I feel more aware/intelligent/bringing all my usual waking facilities and memories with me than when in a lucid dream but I realize they are pretty much the same thing.

What I liked best about this clip is the idea that while in this state we are consciously aware (and therefore can recall upon waking) our merging with and seeing through the eyes of our higher self/broader perspective. This explains why I feel so mind-blowingly joyous and hope this is the experience we feel upon death: unburdened, blissful, free, invincible.

Xanth, I believe she is saying this also, just in different words, because it naturally follows- like saying the sky is blue without defining blue.
Why?

Yes, I definitely agree.  :)
