Hello, the Astral Pulse. Today I think I managed to get closest I've been to AP! What happened is that it started with the small "ringing" in my ears, then after maybe 5 min. I started to feel some very strange vibrations in my legs, but here's what I think went wrong. Is it normal that your heartbeat suddenly raise/gets stronger? When I started to feel the heartbeats raise/getting stronger I tried to calm it down, but then I became so concentrated on calming down my heart that I felt like I went out of this trance state where you feel you will disappear or go backwards into yourself or be able to "ascend" (Something like that feeling). I also think I felt one time that it felt like something (almost like something liquid) was pushing my left hand. I think I also felt a twitch too.

I decided I had to wait a little more, after I "snapped out" of it, I now suddenly feel a little cold and my adrenaline is high and a little stiff/slow too (maybe it's the cold). My hands (especially the bottom section of the fingertips) feels really sensitive.

IS THIS NORMAL?

Edit:  It could be that my heart chakra was opening or that I was about to project through my heart chakra, because it felt like it happen instantaneously or something of that sort and my mind felt kind of ready, maybe I got a little surprised, but I don't think I've ever experienced such heartbeats from being "surprised". After I "snapped out" of it, I seem to remember that my heartbeats got back to normal pretty fast and I didn't feel any pain as I remember

I have that happen sometimes my physical heart reacts to the energy being raised especially if it's a strong surge.  In this there is no normal it depends on whats happening and it's all subjective in nature. The continued deeping focus needs to continue unwavering.

Thanks for answers, I don't have any of those luxuries such as a heart monitor or someone that can check my pulse while I'm APing to check if it's my physical heart or not. I guess I have to just continue and not stop doing it, because I think I was close to actually doing it...

And as always try not to have fears.

I've researched a little by myself on the rapid heart beats, and it seem to be quite a common symptom, because one is opening the heart chakra so say.

People define this energy/exit sensation in different ways. I am not entirely certain, but it does feel like rapid heartbeat and heart chakra energization, at least for me. This sensation will begin to diminish pretty quickly over time, so don't become too concerned with it.

When you notice it, just tell yourself to remain calm and continue with the experience. It's just another sensation to notice, register and file away as you move through the experience.

Energy sensation can be very intense at times and it's very hard not to get spooked by them.  You have to understand that there is no danger from it.  If you have a concern and you want it addressed a physician can do some tests and possibly have a holter monitor for a diagnostic. So it's possible to have it checked out. If your concerned talk to the doc.   docs can be amazingly open minded about this sort of thing.

I can attest... the first time I felt "heart chakra" sensations many years ago, it felt like a second heart beat that was 4 times the speed of my normal heart. Even knowing that is what it was, I was still concerned that there might be physical exertion that might be dangerous; but there never turned out to be as far as I can see.

As for the doctors part... it is all in how you phrase it, and what language you use. I don't think I would tell a doctor that, "I want to find out if I am feeling heart chakra sensations, or if I am having heart problems", but rather something more like, "I have been having strange sensations around my chest region- could you help check them out for me?".

First way, you turn off most doctors and trip the crazy switch. Second way, you phrase the exact same concern in a language they can relate to. Most good doctors will have a respect for their patients' beliefs, and understand that those beliefs can affect their bodies, and will not attack them for them; even so, it helps to use the right language just in case.

Doctors here are taught and expected to respect spiritual work and it's relationship to the physical. I work with physicians and have for years. I find most actually are interested in parapsychology and would LOVE to have an opportunity to work with a patient on something more interesting  and a bit out there. Few make it through residency without witnessing something along the paranormal lines. Hospitals are notorius on night shift for spiritual activity. Nothing like personal experience. I had an OBE when I had surgery and the anesthesiologist came in  and we had quite a talk about it. So don't discount them off the bat. I personally know a couple clinical psyc's who wanted to go into parapsychology but couldnt make a living at it. THey had to go into another field but are always itching for a chance to work with someone along those lines.

We have a significant aboriginal population in Canada with traditional healing. We're maybe a bit more used to complimentary practices. The only problem is the doctors are sometimes just too busy to indulge their interests. It's too bad we could use their knowledge and support in helping people learn to project. They're human too.

To an extent this is true. In fact, neuro-physicians-- a group that one would expect to be among the most closed-minded, strict materialists due to the hard-science aspect of their work, and the modern tendency to translate every emotion, mood, feeling, or human experience into just so many neurotransmitters firing or misfiring-- turn out to be some of the most very open to this metaphysical stuff; this is partially because they do end up having a catalogue of life experiences where they come in direct contact with it as you point out, and also because many of them are extremely interested in mind-body philosophy, and any good philosopher is never fully certain of their own positions to the extent they dismiss other view points. Doctors are also some of the most empathetic people around, and will engage their patient's beliefs even if they don't connect with them many times.

That said, doctors also live in two worlds. In the US, we have allopathic medical schools, and osteopathic; the major difference between them is that allopaths are taught strict medical establishment material about anatomy, pharmacology, and acute care, and make some of the best trauma doctors. Osteopaths are taught all of these areas and in addition receive extensive training on dietary science, psychology, belief systems and their power to affect changes on the adherents, and respecting alternative viewpoints. The sort of doctor one has is partially a result of which of these camps they belong to. It is also a result of professional pressures; doctors are under huge stress by their professional hierarchy to remain strict empiricists, and to use methods recognized by the scientific community to have acceptance. While doctors themselves may sometimes be open to metaphysics and philosophies outside of their comfort zone, they are under great pressure never to acknowledge them at the wrong time. It isn't surprising to me that many doctors have strong and justified interests in parapsychology, but unfortunately in North America parapsychology went out of vogue in the late 70s, and being associated with work like that can unfortunately be professionally damaging. You get labeled the "woo-woo" doctor, and serious peer-review journals (which are extremely political in who they allow to publish, thus controlling what research gets respect and attention) will black-list you from publishing your research.

Doctors are forced to bow to the whims of the scientific and medical establishment in this way if they are serious about their research futures, and for this reason sometimes will not be as open to metaphysics as they would otherwise be. But a general practitioner, rather than a specialist (who is concerned about their research future) will often engage with it comfortably with the patient.

This is nothing against doctors- they are amazing people. It is just recognizing the system they are caught up in.

For me if I'm lying in my bed and trying to AP i get those same feelings. It also feels like I'm suffocating and I can't control it. What I've found is that if I am in my recliner in a semi upright position I get the same intensity vibes but without the suffocating, heart racing etc. also If I'm in a traditional meditation posture or in a awkward position on my couch i.e. one leg up on the head rest the other straight out, one arm dangling the other resting on my stomach I don't get those 'symptoms' either. So I took it as I'm on the verge of a more profiund experience in that one position (in bed flat on my back hands by my side) but I haven't prepared well enough to overcome those sensations so I can get my feet wet so to speak from other positions and work my way into overcoming those intense physical sensory disturbances from lying on my back. I don't know what position or posture you're using, but try that changing positions and postures and see if that helps you. Safe travels!

I use a recliner for positioning comfort.  I cannot lay on my back for any length of time.
Still water I'm putting my physician to the test today.  :-D  we'll see how he does.

Well my very logical and scientific doctor was very open minded. He said he could not explain this and he accepted the fact that we cannot explain everything. It's not the first time he's seen this sort of thing. He's very open to alternative medicine and coordinates with care providers when needed. He did not necessarily think the same about the experience as I do but he was happy about the fact that I did not need any prescriptions and that I was doing fine without them. ... I did get the flu shot :-P  I have to for work.
So I think he did pretty well. He's definitely hard core scientist type but also aware of his limitations and doesn't discount or dismiss what cannot be understood. He was fairly comfortable with the conversation. .... we have the added difficulty that I also have to work with him on occasion and it makes it a little more challenging to discuss personal things.

He also said that if anything started causing trouble again that he would happily make the appropriate referrals ect. So there was no power challenge there either.

I got a bunch of stuff that happened. Heart beat raises. Not a concern, but somtimes it beats so hard that I have to ignore trying to OBE. Once I came to hearing a weird wooshing. Turns out that I had SP and was tuning my hearing to my automatic breathing.

But yeah, about the Doctors part, I hide what I believe in from the medical establishment. I always tell them I am a Christian when the Hospital asks me what religion I am.

It all stemmed from when i was a kid. I was into magic and Witchcraft even back then and the public school I was attending found out. How? Gossip and (true to how it was back in Salem times) people's petty revenge tactics. They took it upon themselves to be a judge of moral right and wrong and tell my parents and everything! They even got the school's psychologist to see to me! No doubt, if I had been "found guilty", they would have forced me to get 'treatment'.

Luckily, I knew how to cover my backside (in legal-ish sense) really well and never got "caught" Quite demeaning that I even had to do this, as I had done nothing wrong in the first place!

But yeah, I learned pretty young never to tell someone in the first place of differing beliefs unless you know them for awhile and you know they are 100 percent okay with you being involved with it.

I am glad you can get by without them too, and even more glad that your physician isn't a pill pusher
