God vs the big bang theory

its possible that other 'big bangs' have occurred in the physical dimension that are so far away, there's no way for us to tell if they even exist without using metaphysical sources. there is definetely something out there, beyond our known universe, that is pulling us outward at an ever-increasing speed.

you would be hard pressed to either prove or disprove an all-powerful god, but, according to leading scientific theories, it is possible to disprove many of the things the church has in the past and still says in the present. ie: evolution.

however, evolution accounts for every single life form upon earth *except* humans, and these problems arise when we approach modern times. there are huge gaps in human evolution, where our ancestors jumped from one species to another in virtually no time at all, in terms of evolution anyways. you can argue with trouble that this was god, constantly improving upon man, without any sources other than skeletal remains, but the evolutionary theory simply falls apart in the face of this. zecharia sitchin, though, provides an answer that accounts for this theoretical imperfection (see my topic in the book review section).

god and the big bang theory can co-exist, because the big bang theory only states that once, all matter in our dimensions that was so tight and compact, hot and yet detectable due to its immense gravity, that it exploded outward in all directions. this explains why everything is moving outward in all directions.. it doesn't explain where matter came from. i guess monotheism can come in there, or any other religion you can apply to that problem..

God, the Big Bang, and evolution. They all have one big thing in common - they're theories. Theories are not the truth, but there are people who believe in them so much as if it were the truth. You can't really prove these theories because they supposedly happened billions of years ago. And you'd be hard pressed to disprove them because each one of them has holes in them.

I mean, one theory even says that this reality is all a dream of the collective consciousness. Perhaps we're living in a computer matrix? Maybe everything here doesn't even "exist" at all - it was all created by our minds...so why not break the rules we created in the first place?

And yes No_Leaf_Clover, those theories you've told us about the Annunaki are incredibly believable, and I'm pretty convinced.

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

just curious, ft.. but what holes are in the big bang theory[?]

These are the holes I can think of:

1 - How do they know that everything is moving "outward?"

2 - What the hell was there before?

3 - What made all those elements and compounds...fusion???

Yeah I know those are pretty weak "holes" I found... Oh well. The big bang theory is a well thought out one. The major hole in it is that you can't really go back in time and prove it.

In a way this is the Answer

If God doesn't exist, then we are up a creek.  The reason for this is because there is no way we can go back to the beginning and see how everything really happened, and even if we could we probably still would not be able to interpret it all because of probably the forces behing it, because of the limitations of our finite mind.

The only person who could know all the answers and who did see it from the beginning was someone who was there from the beginning.  It would also help if this someone had a larger mind than ours, say an infinite mind.

God was there from the beginning and knows all the answers, and hopefully one day he will reveal to us which of our theories is correct, and also reveal to us other informtion we could not have possibly known without him telling us about it.

In other words we better hope that God exists, because he is our only chance of one day knowing everything for sure.  If he doesn't exist then we are up a creek and will only have different theories for the rest of eternity.

no_leaf_clover

thats not necessarily true, neg. you can have the idea that our souls existed before these physical embodiments of them, so that when we die and ascend, a lot may come back to us from the beginning. then there is the akashic records, where everything that has ever happened in the physical is recorded in a huge sort of vault of energies..

Do the records say who created the records?

no_leaf_clover

dunno. ask somebody who's been there [:)]

Anybody have any theories on who created the records?

If God created our cosmos, how many of you think it is possible that he could create other cosmos separate from our cosmos, and we could never know about it in a billion years unless God told us about those other Cosmos?

If the big bang theory is correct, could these big bangs take place in all kinds of different realities.  In other words could the big bang theory create other cosmos that are separate from our cosmos, and we would never know anything about it?  In other words why would any other big bangs somewhere out there have to be in some way connected or close to our Cosmso?  It seems that the answer is that they wouldn't need to be?

Also what are some of the proofs in the world that tend to lean toward the belief that their is a Creator, God?

What are some of the things in the world that someone could try to use to disprove the existence of God?
