When i went to theyr site, i felt that i was on a scientology or another crap like that, you know, with all the little pics of people and interviews like "yes, how my life changed, blahblah". It really look like a commercial operation

The term 'The Occult' has been advertised to the general public as a dark thing (mainly by the church). It is really supposed to mean all types of magics and rituals, both good and bad.

i would take a guess that the claim being made by mysticweb.org is a defamation of character one. If this is the case and according to the high court of austrailia where i believe both myticweb and astralpulse work out of,  the moderator or administrator of the forum can be sued for allowing the defamation of character to be viewed publically. If you do a search on a topic in the forums at astralpulse in google you will find that the forums are public.

Currently free speech isnt exactally freespeech but involves a legal balance between information that is exchanged for or against an individual's interest in protecting his/her reputation against slander. Slander is a report about someone that is not true and causes some kind of harm or damage to the person's reputation. I can see how mystiweb would be able to conjure up a prosecution showing damage to reputation based on what was said in the forums, but i do not see how they can prove that what was said is false. It takes more than just damage to reputation to win a defamation of character lawsuit, you have to be able to prove that the slander is not true otherwise it is not slander, and you end up getting a washed out case. This proving the truth of the slander part of the equation would be VERY hard for the prosecution(mysticweb) to take advantage of and VERY easy for the defence(astralpulse) to benefit from. On the flip side of the coin it would aslo be hard for astralpulse to prove that the slander is true.
So in the end we have a case in which the prosecutors cant prove the slander is false, and a defence that cant prove the slander is true.

Freedoms as they were granted in the Bill of Rights have faded... We can even see it in the headlines of today.  The judge that put up the 10 commandments is being fined 5,000 dollars a day until it is removed.  That covered 2 freedoms, and the system shut him down.  He has freedom of speech to put the statue in front of his courtroom, and he has freedom of religion to put any relgious object anywhere.

Try using your freedom of speech outside the white house shouting that Bush is a joke and he sucks and all, and lets see what happens.

Freedoms are dead. America has too many rules. Thanks alot society!  :p

I think that 5,000 dollar a day fine has more to do with preserving the separation of church and state.

I can't comment on any of this situation for obvious reasons, but as the operator and adminstrator of the Astral Pulse you can be sure it is my intention for this resource to be around for a very long time as place where people can freely learn from and help each other, and generally discuss these topics which cannot openly be discussed elsewhere.

I respect Adrian's decision. I am sure he has done what he thinks is best for all of us. It is better to just drop it then to take the issue to court and waste resources that would be better used on the site and forums. These forums are not about slandering others, reguardless of how true it might be. So lets get back to sharing, learning, and having fun.

We should be able to see the correspondence between the two parties since we are all a part of this.

Hello Allanon,

Occult means hidden.  If you believe in "our Father who is in secret" then you're believing in something occult, that is to say, hidden.  Generally, it is used like that, whether it refers to something good or evil.  "Practice magic arts" most likely refers to those who practice black magic, and remember what has been said about the Bible.  It doesn't matter how inspired by God it may have been because inside I highly doubt that the people who wrote it were totally free of all negativity, even if they were awakened.

You should learn to understand not with the mind but with the heart.  The Bible is written for the heart.  It's been interpreted with the mind.

The meaning of the Bible may as well still be "occult."

PmOnline, after visiting your google thread, i realised that i really hope that the rose cross brotherhood refuse you entry, those esoteric organisations are allready murky from to many ignorant zealots. Im not here to re-start any argument, in fact, im not even going to look in this thread after this. But, i will say, if you are going to attempt to revive a dead topic on google, at least get your facts straight. I mean, c'mon, there WERE 20 pages on that topic...
By the way, personally i love astral pulse, so i hope we can all forget this mess. I have recenty been re-evaluating my path, and have decided its no ones business but mine [] But apart from that, i will continue to post and learn here at Astral Pulse.
