Sex 99.99999999% of the time is a lower desire and part of the animalistic desires in the astral (read: red, orange, yellow planes). I would be very wary of sexual desires in the astral. I believe Astral Dynamics even states that some creatures may appear as attractive members of the opposite sex as a trick or test. In that light, it's not surprising that such an encounter would turn ugly.

This just gets better and better - people are constantly telling members of this board that things are safe and that getting back to body is easy etc and yet then theres mention of 'oh yeh i forgot to tell ya, sometimes u get locked out'. WTF

As for the topic at hand a while ago I had a sort of dream, in it there was this female entity in my room (I dont think she was all that attractive to be honest) but at some point im getting off with her, thats the only bits I remember of it.

I wouldn't say it's entirely unsafe. I was laying in my bed and gained astral sight just when a beautiful woman appeared on top of me. I knew she wasn't my imagination when she spoke to me. She said, "Just relax", so I did. Anyway this went on for about ten minutes and it was quite a catharsis from my daily trials and tribunes. She thought I was a frisky astral sex buddy..lol.. I haven't seen her again yet but i'd definitely do it again.
p.s. just be careful if you're gonna do it and try always to be ready for the negs. you can find a few just about everywhere.

Its never happened to me, but if you get locked out temporarily, so what? If you're afraid of astral, you can let it degenerate to a dream. If you're afraid of dreams, you have bigger problems than astral projection.

Yes but what if I desperately need the toilet! [;)]

Did you try to feel your body? What I mean is, did you try to feel like you were in your physical body, try moving your fingers or toes? How was your consciousness? This may have been the astral and not the RTZ, in which case it was not your body that you saw, since you were in your body for the astral, and instead a body you created yourself because you expected to see your "body" there. If you want to go back to your physical body, try thinking about what it feels like to be in your physical body and try moving your fingers and toes.

If you need the toilet, your body will probably come out of deep sleep, and you will be pulled back.

Hi,

I have never been locked out yet.  However from what I read and understand, it only happens because your body falls into too deep a sleep to re-integrate temporarily.  And it is always temporary.  So there is no "danger" that anybody has discovered relating to this.  It's no more dangerous than having to wait in line somewhere when you didn't expect that.

Sex, extended time on the astral, yeah you guys have real problems. (note the sarcasm [:)] and we need a little smiley face rolling its eyes because sometimes you just need to roll your eyes)

Hi all,

Thanks for all your responses.

Firstly, I have a copy of Astral Dynamics.  And I have read that the body may fall into a deep sleep, thus temporarily locking the astral body outside.  However, I had only just fallen asleep... I had literally been asleep for two seconds.  I do not think it is possible to fall into such a level of deep sleep in such a short period of time.

I did not try to feel my body.  I will try that method if it happens again.  Thank you for that!

I suppose the creature, whatever it was, just fancied to play around with my mind.  The sheer fear of that encounter freaked me out so much I waked up immediately.

I forgot to mention that on waking, I had a cold, tingling sensation around my brow, and crown chakra?  Anyone care to explain?

re: being "locked out", its an unpleasant experience which has happened to me once.

As beavis said, its only temporary, so there's nothing to worry about. At the time though, its very frustrating.

Instead of floating back towards my body, or being pulled into it by a strong "force", this time I freely approached my body on the bed. I climbed on, and tried to "merge" with it....but no joy. I found that I was pushing my astral head against my physical, but both were bone-solid. So I stood up, quite worried for a few seconds, but then realised that there was no danger in the situation. At this point, I blacked out, then awoke in my room, fully merged (!) a few seconds later.

As for the saucy side to astral travel, I'm not too "experienced" in that yet, hee hee....but here is a point worth noting :

As such, I wouldn't say it was either "good" or "bad"...though people will probably disagree. But it is an emotional desire that is based on form; so it follows that it is part of the denser, lower astral regions.

I strongly think that in order to advance in astral travel one must become passive and not judgemental. You should learn to discard judgements on good, evil, bad, etc. Reason number 1, the astral is quite different than the physical with its own laws. One of the most obvious, atleast to some, is that form is not as permanent as it is on the physical. The astral is easily changed and shaped. This leads to reason number 2. The astral is very thought and emotion responsive, which calls for you to be very passive in order to not influence the experience. Being as such, your personality (all of it, being that which you like and dislike) is now on the exterior. Meaning that it is likely to the unexperienced traveler that what you experience is yourself. This is important because you must know yourself and work through issues inorder to advance. Some people experience the "Dweller at the Threshold" the first time they leave their body while others experience it later or never. The Dweller is a reflection of yourself of the something or things that you need to work through inorder to became a solid traveler. This is why ultimately I feel that looking at experiences you find unpleasant as bad or evil is unproductive and mislead. They are just unpleasant but they are reflections of yourself and things that you need to learn so you can grow. Those that fight learning will continue to experience unpleasant things until they deal with the issues and learn. You should view each experience as a chance to learn and grow, reguardless of how pleasant or unpleasant it may be. This is true on all planes of existence.

I had a memorable episode of astral travel last night...

I shall recount, and I would appreciate your thoughts:

At first, I was outside of my body... I exited through my bedroom window... exhilirating... then I returned and tried to re-enter my body, remembering that a 'long' episode of astral travel can affect memory recall... but I just couldn't get in.  At one point I was actually in bed with myself trying to get in.  Anyway... next thing, I think I am in... but I am not... I get up... and pass through the door...

Here is where it gets wierd...

To the left is a man... i'm not sure who he is... but he was EXTREMELY attractive... anyway... he has suitcases outside of another bedroom in the house... almost as though he is moving in...

Anyway... we ended up close up together... and things got pretty well 'hot'...

But then the face changed to this hideous creature... it was awful...

Any thoughts on what happened?

Also, why the hell did I have trouble with my sight in this experience.  Some of the time, it was very dark... almost misted over.
