i think i understand what you are saying and i got some suggestions for u.  When astral projection scared you when you were young it seemed to affect your subconsious somehow if at all so your mind thinks AP is bad.  well you can try affirmations at night saying something like "Astral Projection is safe and it cannot harm me to do it" (kinda bad i know lol) or u can take an affirmation from Robert Bruce's 90 day oobe (correct me if its not by robert bruce i forget) which says "I am a spirit inside a body, capable of perceiving dimensions beyond the physical existence.  I have the ability to leave my body, return safely and remember it."  or just make up your own like it.  now as far as meditation goes, it is good to get in the habit of meditating even if you dont intend on doin an AP at that time, for it can really help, i know its helped me.  When you are attempting to Astral Project, it is also good to keep with your goal and not get sidetracked.  let everything come natural.  if you get vibration sensations, rapid beating, etc.  note it then forget it and continue with your goal.  hope this post will help you.  good luck

Hi,
I have a question,
I have been trying to get back into astral projection because when I was younger it scared me a bit. I didnt know where to get any information about it etc.
But now I seem to have a block. Its like my mind wont let me go back.
I think that meditation should be my first step in going back to that state of obe threshold.
I even know some techniques like counting your breathing and visualisation but my mind just wont let go.
It feels like something wont let me.
I feel it too when I write about stuff to do with my other self on this site, I make more mistakes typing, its wierd and I find it hard to explain and my heart even beats faster!

Does anyone know what I'm saying?
Maybe someone could tell me about a good technique they know to help meditate better........
