The sad thing is that all of that is true[V]. Good post james btw[:D]

Squeek

Bwahahahahaha, awesome joke.

But just what is this... "Australia" you speak of?  Is it a continent? Country? BOTH?!

Logic

We are not truly lost, until we lose ourselves.

Squeek

I know he didn't mention Australia...  but since he's from there and I "faked knowing nothing about it", .... get it now?  Us CRAZY Americans are supposed to not know anything about the outside world... get it now?

I can't simplify it anymore than that.

It's still a funny joke, even without an Aussie reference (Sorry big J)

Nice one Squeek.[:D]
Bush knows who we are coz our PM spends lots of time sucking up to him [;)]

Australia probably wouldn't factor into it because food shortages aren't something we're really bothered about.

Now if it were a BEER shortage, that would be catastrophic!

James S,[8)]
do you... well what exactly do you do as a computer engineer if you don't mind me asking?

James S

Sure,

Used to be a field engineer doing on-site repairs to anything from high-end servers to little laser printers, and now I bolt together and configure/customise low to mid-range (up to 150 user) Unix servers and special purpose Windows web servers.

Do you find your job satisfying I mean is comfortable at work? I am sortha of a harware/software viz so am thinking either software game developer, animator or a harware expert,I can dedicate myself for each one of them, which one you think pays off in the long term?[:)]

James S

Garbage truck operator!
They make more money and the job is far less stressfull![:)]

Really though, depends on where your interests lie.

Get a decent ammount of hardware knowledge behind you and you'll always be of value, but from what I've seen in recent times, I'd be going into animation if I could. Pick up work for someone connected to the movie industry. End up with someone like Pixar and you'll be set!

[8)]I am skilful in art/drawing/sketching, they are and have been my hobbies since I can remember so I'll get involved in that area a little more[;)].
Thanks for your advice.[:)]

Great joke, one flaw though.
Since when did the UN get around to conducting surveys?
Sad part of the joke is... it's true[xx(]

James S

Last month, a world-wide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question asked was...

"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was a huge failure because...

In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.

In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.

In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.

In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant.

In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant.

In South America they didn't know what "please" meant.

In the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.
