if you're having OBE's then i think you're all set as far as energy levels go.  by beginners i think he means someone that isn't developed that much energetically.

i can't remember what level three is.
as below, so above

Doing OBE doesn't clear perfectly in itself the energy pathways, unfortunately. So you still have to spend most of your time on your secondary circuit until you feel no more blockages, and even after that to enpower it like energy musculation. I didn't have blockage anymore in my secondary centers after about 2 months, but i still made some big progress in the year after that, so don't give up with the secondary centers. Then, you'll feel it if you gain energy, it'll make a warm feeling in the subnavel at each rasing action. Unless you can feel it, it's that you are spending more energy on the awareness action. It can take some time until you can actually feel this. But continue doing it as it'll develop your nadis.
About the length of the sessions, i didn't knew about Robert's recommendations when doing it and i spent many hours a day on it for many months. And it worked well like this. I think that the danger is more in the very beginning that you lose energy while doing this, but if you don't give up after a month and continue with this "big" training, your body adapts well. I still spend more than 2 or 3h a day in energy raising sometimes, and i feel good :)
What i would suggest though is indeed to do it like 2h a day maximum during the first 4 months and then whatever amount you want.

I feel the heat in my subnavel on some energy strokes, but do you think that I could still be gaining energy?  I was thinking I am, because since I've been doing NEW, I get what is like a heat eruption in my body every now and then throughout the day.  Also, the reason I was thinking that my secondary system has been clear, is because I realized that my sensations that I feel while doing NEW (heat waves with a slight tingling), have always been consistent, even back when I was doing Kong Jing.  While I feel these waves in different parts of my body, and in varying strengths, the sensation is basically the same all the time.  While my sensations are most consistent in my legs, the heats waves that I feel when doing NEW can also be constant, and feel like a flow of energy into my body.

Sounds like a plan.  I also plan to keep working my secondary system.  I do a lot of prestimulation before moving onto raising exercises... sound good?

Thanks

Blakera, psychic energy is similar to muscles. If you get tired, it is useful to rest before doing more excercise. You could continue to lift small weights with your little remaining strength, or you could wait and lift something big later.

I'd like to train whatever amount of time is best but I'm a little confused.  In the NEW training guide on this website Robert Bruce says that there is no limit to how much energy should be swept into the subabdominal... he says the more the better.  But then, at the end of the guide in the "recommended daily routines" section he says that his level four program might be counterproductive for anyone seeking a high level of developement.  He seems to say there that the less time consuming "level three" would be better than four because too much energy would be spent on the awareness actions.  He also says somewhere that it could be a while before begginers gain more energy than what is spent in a session.  I do OBEs and I think my energy pathways are all clear and that I'm gaining energy, but have only been doing NEW for 2 1/2 months, does being new to NEW make it so that I'd be more likely to spend more energy than I gain in any session?  Can anyone help me understand what to do?

Thank you for your time.
