a lot of their songs are about time and they, like many others, discovered that there wasnt any. only infinite now

I agree there are many references to what COULD be AP, but it's not definitive that Roger Waters ever really did.  It's probably interpreted different depending on the listener.  But there are many verses in a lot of their songs that could apply...

"When I was a child I had a fever, my hands felt just like two balloons..."

"Tongue tied and twisted, just an earthbound mystic eye..."

etc, etc, etc.

Anyways I'm sure there are many more.  Keep in mind they were huge in the 70's and did countless drugs.  A lot of the things they sang about could have been references to acid or heroine trips.  In any case, they're still at the top of my best bands list!

it is simply genius. the outer shells of their songs are about things like drugs...etc...for example..
everyone thinks 'comfortably numb' is about heroin. it may be in a sense, but the song was not written for that reason. i was at a pink floyd laser light show and off a whim i started a complex thought process. it built up to the floyd APing and now when i hear a song by pf, everything makes total sense. another good example of this is 'high hopes' off of the division bell. whenever they speak of when they were a "child" it refers to when they were not aware of what was out there. i believe they had maybe stumbled upon ap while taking lysergic acid diethylimide, and started to master it. perhaps they broke the time barrier. "ill see you on the dark side of the moon". ps...has anyone ever APed to the dark side of the moon? i bet you there are some interesting things there...[]

I wonder how many people still use LSD to Project. I was at an OBE lecture earlier this month, attended by 40-50 people and there were four who talked about their current use and their OBEs.

ive never tried but im sure it would be tough, the mind is very alive and usually doesnt stop thinking or concentrate on one thing while on lsd.

I used many years ago. Had incredible, even cathartic OBEs, but had some horrible experiences with the drug also. One of the things I relish with Projection is the wonderful sense of freedom. It's not that I'm a control freak or anything close, but I love my sense of freedom that continues to grow and I don't like my experiences being controlled by a drug or a person or a group of persons etc. I think that a lot of musicians who projected either with or without drugs, wrote a lot about freedom and sooner or later learned that you have to be free even from the medium, the technique, that once served your purpose,whether it be a drug, a philosophy, a religion, a particular OBE technique etc., if one wants to continue to grow and expand. You might enjoy the Moody Blues also.

I don't know about them being screwed up any more than now. I think a lot of people back then began to exhibit behaviour that wasn't the norm and they may have appeared screwed up. A lot of them actually became pioneers for many many things. Coming out of the closet with other than "norm" behavior, has been beneficial to the individual as well as the society in the long run. Many segments of society today would consider those who seek OBE to be "screwed up", so "screwed up" could be a good thing. As a former therapist, I guess the bottom line for me, was the question, is the behavior harmful to the individual or others? With regards to LSD, the answer is yes, it can be harmful, and I don't encourage it either. But I also don't use scare tactics. I believe in honesty and have to admit that lots of people have had good experiences also. But because of the duality of possible outcomes, one has to seriously ask, is it worth the risk?

I have 31 Pink Floyd Albums, plus 2 Roger Waters albums, I think 3 of which are different versions of the wall; live in Berlin, tribute by somebody, this one had a different cover from the other. I have three other general tributes with a mix of music. I have what looks like an unoffical record of the radio versions. I also have one vinal, given to me by a guy I worked for who knew I loved Floyd.
I have two or three more rare albums to go. Anyone have a few thousand dollars they could give me?

LOL anyway, my point is, all of that music, listened to countless times each, and I never once considered it to resemble discriptions of projecting. You learn somthing new everyday.

I think comfortably numb was written by roger waters in response to his record company wanting him to medicate himself to take the edge off of his anger and intensity.
They are probably the only band to make it big off the mental illness of an ex-member. Dark Side, the Wall, Wish You Were Here are all based on Syd Barret.
The best albums for tripping are the ones before Dark Side, DSOM drug of choice would be Qualuddes.
I bet one could put together an obe cd with their music, the way some of the music progresses could initiate an obe.

I do not have the particular song by ZZ top, or I would put in the rest of the lyrics.  Does anyone else have it?  I remember when the song came out I thought "I bet they are talking about astral projection".

That is all I can remember of it.  If anyone else has the song, there are other references in it to AP.  Would like to hear from others what they were.[]

Now that it has been written, it does seem that many of Floyd's songs were about AP.  I wonder if they did it consciously with purpose, or just a drug trip.

I have heard that if you start playing Dark Side of the Moon at the exact same second that Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz takes her first step down the yellow brick road, that the music corresponds with the movie.

The Floyd  - fantastic... any one make Earl's court in 84 (memories indeed). But what of Hawkwind one says. Not as ethereal in the way the Pinks were but still the auld Astral Space trippers seem be just flying along.

to synch up dark side of the moon and the wizard of oz, you start the album at the end of the lion's third roar, ive done this before and it is truly amazing how exact the lyrics/mood of the song/movie go. coincidence? i think not. well lets see what is the significance of the wizard of oz??? hmmm. it was the first color movie ever. have you seen the front of dark side of the moon? very interesting huh. a beam of white light going through a prism and making a full spectrum of color. coincidence? I THINK NOT. the floyd made dark side of the moon so carefully that nothing about it can be a coincidence. now all i need to do is put all of the clues together and i might find something secret in the music....like ive done so many times before.......
