Question about Guides

I'm not sure what duality is but I have encountered one of my guides (I'm assuming I may have more than one). It appears as a mountain lion, and she's never very friendly but appears when I have matters of serious concern at hand and am choosing the wrong path or just doing something extremly hazardous and stupid.
We have never had a conversion together or even a casual walk. The experiences are not pleasant. If I see her I get the same feeling I would as a child when I had been cuaght doing something bad. She never speaks, no matter what I ask her. However I understand her "point" more often than not. Thankfully, I haven't seen her lately...

I have had similar experiences, Manix. My guide has never spoken a word, not "friendly" by any means, but the experiences are powerful, and her "point" is well communicated, just by her appearance.

Through my experiences I've come to understand that guides ideally keep interaction or interference with your life to a minimum, because you learn far greater things on your own and mustn't be robbed of growth to independence, self-reliance, and love.

My guide or guides have appeared as animals as well. Black bird and an owl.

They have never spoke in the normal fashion but they do communicate on another more subdue level. Next time you meet your guide perhaps you should stop trying to hear with your ears and pay more attention to the ideas and feelings that you are receiving. They might be communicating with you and you're just too busy to hear what they are saying.

Ok, first thing you need to look at as that psychics are there for you to give YOUR MONEY TO.[}:)]  So of course they would NOT want you to talk to your guides.  It would put them out of business!!!!

So forget about her.  A true psychic that truly wanted to help you would not go there.  Consider that.

I have met my guides.  All six of them.  Back twenty years ago when I first started getting into this stuff for the first time seriously.  I went into a deep meditation with the intent on meeting my guides.  Intent here is most important.  The second most important thing is your belief and attitude about it.  If you believe they wont talk to you than that is what will happen.  I believe that they would and that is what happened.

But the experience will be different for everybody!

In my meditation this is what happened.  I use a combination breathing, walking down stairs to get there.  When I got to the bottom I was standing in a lush green valley with a spring and natural pool.  I bathed in the pool and when I came out I was wearing the clothes of my spirit.  Next I saw a beautiful rose.  When I looked into it I saw many different swirling colors just like the "Universe" in the movie "Men in black".  Keep in mind this happened before the movie came out.

I went into this rose thing and found myself at the opening of a large oak forest.  I went through the forest and found a grassy hill with a house on top.  I instinctively felt this is where my Guides lived.  I climbed the hill and went to knock on the door, but they knew I was coaming, and came out.  We all introduced ourselves and hugged.  We talked about a great many different things (all personal stuff).  It was as if I were talking to real people in the real world.  In fact it was so real that I almost forgot where I was, and that it was not real.  I speculate that it was on a different plane or dimension.  Be if astral or not, I am not sure.

We all talked, and laughed, and shared for what seemed like an hour or more.  Then it came time for me to leave.  We all hugged and said I love you.  The feeling of Unconditional Love was amazing.  Over the next couple of years, I returned many times when I had a problem that I did not know how to fix.  Only then there was usually only one or two of them there.  When I asked about that they said that the others were not important for my question so the did not have to come.  Every time I went there only the Guide or Guides that I needed to talk to were their.

It was always awesome, always beautiful, and always filled with love.

That was my experience because that is what I expected to have.  Others see animals, or signs.  But, they always get the message they need to have.  Acting on these messages are a completely different thing all together.  Sometimes we do, and sometimes we do not.  But that is part of our freedom of choice.  And why they are called Guides.

I have had not dissimilar to some of the ones already shared. I would agree the important thing here is not the apparant form guides appear to come in at times however glorious, but the sensations of unconditional love that's expressed... It can be a very wonderful blessing indeed!

I think I might have met another one of my guides last night! I have this habit of opening in-dream portals, as I call them. Basically I just force a round portal to appear so when I'm stuck somewhere or need to go a great distance I can just walk through without any hassle. The in-dream poartals look like crystal clear water swirling around, while the out-dream portals are silver (I used these when I was visiting a friends dream a few times).
Anyway, I called one up last night and instead of going where I wanted to I ended up in a room. It had a very old unused look to it. There were stair cases everywhere. Many were upside or sideways. I saw a man there. He was transparent except for this electric blue outline around him. He look like he was made of lightning. I felt like I had been here before and that I knew who he was. I had so many questions to ask this guy but all I had time for was a staircase. He opened a latch in the floor to reveal a new one. I got the impression that this was a new challenge. The corridor was incredibly steap and impossable to descend becuase it was so small. To top that off it was cluttered debris. I woke up shortly after I turned to stare at the lightning man in disbelief.

Think this fella could have been a guide?

I think I may have met some of my guides in my dreams when I was a child, but cannot remember what they looked like or what was said. However, I sometimes have the experience (as an adult) of being guided (literally!) in my dreams, as if invisible hands gently grasp me from behind and steer me to a given destination. When this happens, nothing is ever said. It's as if something or someone  is watching in the background waiting to assist.

BTW I heard this guy (Von Braschler) on Coast To Coast last year and he spoke extensively about how to contact your guides. His book looks interesting...

Honestly I don't know, the dream focused on the stairways. This was the first I've seen of the lightning guy, least that I can recall. Maybe if I see him a again I'll ask him =).

Here are two different common examples of guides affecting our everyday waking lives.  Both of these have happened to me, and many others that I have spoken to.

1.  Your driving down the road going from point A to point B.  Something tells you to turn here, and that would completely alter your course.  You can still figure out how to get to point B, but it is not the direction you were going to go.  Later you find out that there was a car accident and you were going to be at that exact point at the time the accident happened.  You get a creepy hair on the neck raising feeling, and know that something helped you, and you would have been in that accident.

2.  The same basic thing as above, but there was no car accident.  While the first one is easy to say that you were guided away from danger.  This second one you say there was no accident, so I was guided and nothing happened.  It was a waste of my time.

But was it really?  Just because there was no accident does not mean anything.  Remember you were not there.  If you were there might have been an accident.

Both of these scenarios can show "proof" of being guided, but only one has physical evidence that something happened.

Have any of you ever experienced these things?

After seeing a psychic, I feel discouraged about guides. I am confused on this whole idea of duality. I am told that my perspective and understanding is limited and that my guides would never approach me (for example, if I were to AP I could walk somewhere with them in casual discussion).

Who here has met their guides via duality? I am interested to know. Maybe I can one day meet individualized forms of my guides in the Astral.
