Thanks for your two cents, Linda.  I guess maybe I should take advantage of the times when my wife is traveling and lock the dogs out of the room when I want to practice having a OBE.

Hey!  I noticed that you live in Saskatchewan.  My wife and I ran out of gas in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan when we were driving back to Maine from Alaska.  The people there were friendly.  I thought that the name sounded like something from Loony Toons.  Like someplace that Daffy Duck would refer too. []

Thanks for the extra info, TS.  Every bit helps.  I can definitely relate to the part about getting fed up or tired of trying and then rolling over and going to sleep.  It's encouraging to know that pushing through this may be the key to success.

I have used the Awakened Minds CD a few times.  If I listen closely, I can hear the tones.  They are in the background, behind the rain, but they are definitely audible.  

So far I have only really had time to listen to track one.  It helps me to reach a deep meditative state fairly quickly.  I suppose it could be just a placebo effect.  I don't think it is, though.  Either way, it works.

My opinion, and it is only that, is that God is like a lightbulb with a lampshade.  The lampshade has many cutout designs.  We only see the design that faces us.  Christianity is one design. Islam is another. Hinduism is another.  And on it goes.  Now that we have knowledge of the entire lampshade because of worldwide communication, we must consider that God reveals himself in more than one way.  If Jesus was the only path, then many good, enlightened people would be damned for no reason.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the light.
Buddha is another way.  A valid way.  And I think Jesus would agree.
It is man who has limited God with his limited understanding.

I ordered a program called Kepler last week which is supposed to create very good reports on your chart.  I should be receiving it any day now.  If you post the city/state/country of your birth, I'll run the numbers through the program when I get it and e-mail a report to you.

I heard an interesting interview on NPR this week with Elaine Pagels (sp?).  She wrote the book, "The Gnostic Gospels", and she has a new one out.  I'm not sure of the name of the new one.  

According to her research, she believes that The Gospel of John was written as a reaction to The Gospel of Thomas.  The Gospel of John is the only gospel that states that you must accept Jesus as savior to go to heaven.  The other three Gospels say nothing about this.

The Gospel of Thomas, which predates John and was not included in the bible, has Jesus saying that God is everywhere and in everyone.  

Pagels seems to think that John was written to get people away from focusing on personal, mystical, experiences of the divine, and to focus them instead on viewing Jesus and the church as the only door to heaven.

If this is true, then it is too bad, because I think the main reason some people reject Christianity out of hand is because of the "My way or the highway" dogma.  Ironically, this may never have been Jesus' intention.

Thanks for your review.
I just received my CD yesterday, and played track one before heading out to work.

First a little background.  I've never experienced a conscious OBE that I can remember.  20 years ago, I tried to have one while reading the Monroe books.  I experienced powerful vibrations and a certain "looseness" within my body, but that was the extent of it.

Recently, I've been reading Astral Dynamics and this bb, but I have not yet seriously tried to project.

Yesterday morning I listened to Track One on the Awakened Minds CD just for a meditation session.
After a few minutes of rain and gurgling drips, I definitely felt my mind go to a place of deep meditation.  I decided that I will definitely try using it daily for a while.

The weird thing happened when I went to bed last night.
I was lying on my side with my wife spooning me, and every time I started to drift off to sleep I got that "looseness" feeling again, like my astral body was slowly moving within my physical body.  Everytime I would recognize this it would stop.  Every time I would start to drift off again it would return.  

This was all spontaneous, so I'm wondering if it was related to my use of the cd.

Anyway, I'll post any new developments.

Today I spoke with my mother and she told me that this week she had a dream.

In the dream, she was searching for me as a small child with my younger sister helping her.  She says that a bird attacked her and attached herself to her lower back and that it was very painful.  Someone told her that a policeman could remove it, so she was then searching for a policeman as well as for me.

She says that when she woke up she felt exhausted.

Thanks for the link.  I found the posts very interesting.

As for OBE.  Back around the same time that I had the mosquito incident, I was reading the books of Robert Monroe.  During that period, I tried working on astral projection.  I have no memories of successfully getting out.  Although, I did definitely have powerful buzzing vibrations, and changes in heartrate.  I think I might have gotten close.  But then I would tend to panic and 'will' it not to happen.  

I had not really tried it for about 20 years now.  But, I recently became curious again.  And Robert Bruce's book makes so much logical and intuitive sense to me.  I may try again, but now I'm kind of paranoid about the negs I've heard about.  Hopefully, I won't run back into a fear wall if I try again.
