i try at least once a week.
I havent even once experienced the vibrational stage and i dont hear anything in my ears while attempting it.
I have watched every video on youtube. I have browsed the forums continuously but cant find success.
I have tried focusing on breathing but it becomes manual and i start forgetting to breathe lol.
Also i usually sleep on my stomach because its more comfortable for me, but i tried to AP that way once and fell asleep way to fast. It was a little too comfortable.
You probably will not like my advice.  Trying to ap once a week is not enough.   The more you practice the more chances you are likely to succeed.
Watching youtube and forums is a waste of time.   I like to read forums for fun but you are better off practicing.   You would be better off spending the time meditating and getting used to relaxing.   The others are correct.   It usually takes longer than one hour to ap.   You can ap as little as ten minutes.   I did once but that is unusual.
If you did not notice you were breathing it could mean that you are able to ap.   Do an ap technique.
You have a very high chance of falling asleep when you are too comfortable.
You do not have to get vibrations to ap.   Sometimes I get vibrations and other times I do not.

I never realised it could be very bad.    I will make sure I take the magnesium tablets sensibly and not over take them so I will not have any problems.   We get magnesium in some food but I need more magnesium.

Thanks for that.   That is what my husband says.   He reminds to take the amount of tablets what it says on the bottle.   The bottle I am on says take one tablet a day.   I take it before I go to bed.   Other bottles I have used says take three tablets a day if required.   There was one bottle I took it said take three tablets three times a day if required.  A shop keeper in a health shop told me to take six tablets twice a day.    My husband and doctor was not impressed.   The doctor said that is excessive.   I will not be going back to that health shop again.

To be able to ap you have to fix the problem of wrestles leg syndrome.    I get wrestles leg syndrome so I take magnesium tablets so I do not have that problem anymore.

Keep practicing you are doing extremely well.    It will not take you long to ap.   I mediate a lot and I ap but it can take a while to achieve ap so you have to be patient, dedicated and persevere with it.    I mediate for a while, then I take a deep breath and I let by body relax more.    I am so relaxed that I separate from my body.  Other times I might do an ap technique and if it does not work it means I am not relaxed enough so I mediate longer.

Thanks Xanth, I never thought about it in detail exactly what I do.

Well, actually... ultimately, when you boil ALL 'techniques' down to their basic parts... whatever you choose to label it (OBE, Phasing, etc...), they're all the same.

They all require you to shift your awareness to somewhere that isn't "here".  That's it.
The "sensations" you experience are all that differ... and even those are meaningless.  Projection is a shift of awareness.
The only fact that is important at all is that you attain that shift.  Nothing else, like what you feel, how you feel it, or when you feel it, really matters.
That's another thing, you can't really "do nothing".  Show me someone who claims they "do nothing" and I will find out what it is they do.
You can't do nothing and expect something to happen.

Also, "thinking of things" won't make necessarily make an experience end either.  That's the exact opposite of saying "do nothing" to project.  :)
Do you see what I mean?
I do nothing a number of times and I ap.   Well sort of, I breathe in and out until my mind and breathing feels relaxed.   There are times when I thought of things and it ended.   There is no wrong or right.   We do whatever works.   We are all different and what works for one person may not work for another person.
#183
You can do nothing and it will still work.   In order for it to work your mind has to stay very relaxed.  You just look at what you are seeing without thinking anything.   If you think of things it will end.   What will happen is you will spiritually rise out of your body and land in some place.

I thought that the point of phasing method is to do nothing until you phase out (beside noticing but i dont consider it as doing something), do you mean i shod do some exit technique ? like rope

Stan
I really think I should not be on this forum as everyone phases or learns to phase.   I do not phase.   My technique is different.   If the phasing technique is not working then try something else to make it work.   I have not experimented much to find out all the different ways.   I just spiritually get out of my body.   You could try the rope method.   Do what Xanth says, and that is to use intent.   If you use intent the rope method should work.

during noticing i start to see shapes and i watch them and watch and they slowly disappear i know about eye problem but i didnt notice that i change my focus, the shapes just fade
Any one know other reasons why shapes could stop ?
When you are starting to see things that is the time to get out of your body.   If you just lie there and do nothing the shapes will stop so the experience is likely to end.

Bluefirephoenix said it well, Your conscious mind kills the images.
#187
As soon as you see images that is the time to get out of your body.   That is what I do.   There are times when you do not have to do anything and you automatically ap.   For that to happen you need to stay relaxed not moving your eyes around or thinking of your physical.   Your mind has to stay extremely relaxed or it will not work.

How alert are you when you ap?   When I am very alert it is like I am physically out of my body but I am spiritually out of my body.   When I am very alert I know it is real.   It is obvious.   When I am not that alert it is a bit like a dream.   I am not aware of what is going on.   I just drift along.   When I wake up I think my experience was not that great.   It did not feel real.

I have been pulled out of my body a number of times.   I do not know if this is true or not.   My inner self might have other ideas and come out on its own.    I would do both ways or anyway that will work.   I would not limit myself to one way of doing things.    I exit a number of different ways.   I would not believe everything you read.   The vibration stage is not difficult.   It can be fun.   Accept what ever happens and go with it and you will be fine.

You do not have to be tired to ap.   As you said you were aware.   It is best not to be tired.    You were very close to ap.   You just had to use your mind to get out of your body.    Believe and know you can do it and it will happen.

You say tomato, she says tomoto... right?  :)

See, what's important here is that you're both using the same "Intent" in order to project.
Intent... that's the only thing that matters.  In EVERYTHING you do.  Physical, non-physical, whatever... Intent is the only thing that makes any importance.
Thanks Xanth.   I did not think of it as intent but you are right.    If we had intent we probably would not have as many problems.

I have read of course that some people imagine they roll out bed during the vibrational stage and thus achieve the out of body state this way
I do not imagine I am rolling out, I spiritually roll out.

I have tried astral projecting so many times when I was really tired but always drifted off to sleep. But this time, having skipped my entire sleep, I was insanely sleepy.

when you are this tired it is VERY hard to stay conscious. Even while chanting the above words you will simultaneously go to sleep. But you should hold on really well and intensify the chanting if you are finding it hard to keep yourself awake.

But all this wasn't very clear due to the level of tiredness. It all was just hazy and confusing. But now thinking about them, I feel all these were just hallucinations (I'm pretty confident about that).

You will definetly be prone to hallucinations if you are attempting this.

You may not like my advice.   It is not a good idea to try to ap when you are tired.   If you manage to ap you can easily drift off into a dream as you are too tired.   It is a lot better to get some sleep first then try to ap.

I agree with Soki.   I agree with the others but I do what Soki does.   Occasionally I ap during the day but it is not often.    I have more success in the mornings after I have had a sleep.    I like to meditate during the day even though I mostly do not ap.    It helps me to stay awake at night time.   I do not try to ap when I am tired.   When I am tired I just want to go to sleep.

Thanks everyone.   If you change form such as a bird, reptile or anything else then that is real.   If you see monsters and other awful things, I never have then that is real as well.   Am I correct?
#196
Hi all, just wondered sometimes we ap and it can turn into a dream.    Would you say this came from your mind if you ap and you became a bird or some alien creature?    They are talking about it on another forum.   I will not say anything as I am likely to upset people.
#197
I think this is amazing.   Both of you had the same thing that happened and you were able to talk about it.
#198
Sadly it would not help you to ap.    You have a very high chance of falling asleep.   I am successful with ap when I am not tired.
#199
I am impressed, soarin12 said it well.    I think we can all learn from that.

You could have had the same thing as me.   Occasionally I see landscapes, animals or people.    I know I am in my body.    When it happens I get out of my body and I go into another environment.
