i believe that all other species see a little different then all others.  it would be logical to assume that dogs could see into parts of other dimensions that we could not.  cat's especially.  this may account for why they appear to be on lsd half of the time w/ chasing things that don't seem to be there.

experience is the best teacher.  no matter what happens you are the only one that can actually help you because you are the only one that knows exactly what's going on.  ad is great and i wouldn't be where i am now, w/ my progress, w/out it but i've solved more problems myself than i have w/ the book.  not to discourage you from posting, but it's ver helpful to scrutinize everything you are doing at the time and find out exactly what is stopping you.  it's nice to have this forum here to help but if it weren't here and the resources we have available to us right now, weren't so available, there would be a different outlook on problems.

what kind of projection tek are you using?  what exactly do you do when you are trying to project?

it may be helpful to stop trying to project and to tell yourself that you are going to try and get to the very last stage before projection instead.  it will take some of the pressure off and will allow you to slowly increase your familiarity w/ the stages.  if you can slowly use whatever tek you are using to get to the right before stage, going a little bit further should be a breeze.

you won't have to be so hard on trying to project and failing, getting frustrated and having it dampen your spirits.

ash, maybe there is a chance that you aren't fully relaxed. you may be pretty familar w/ the trance states, but how deep into trance can you get?  i had some problems that i couldn't figure out for a long time that were similar.  i was so slightly tensed up that it was making projection impossible.  have you tried listening to music while attempting the projection?  something soothing like a rain tape or something that wouldnt' cause memories to flood in and make it easier to lose consciousness may help.

when you say all of a sudden you will regain consciousness and the experience will end, do you mean projections as well?

when you have projected how did it happen?

give me some more details about your situation and i may be able to suggest some more appropriate suggestions.

micron, that tek you describe was in  a  post a while back.   i don't remember the name right now but there are a lot of people here that use that same tek.  the only problem is it's not as consistent or reliable as would be becoming proficient at the conscious exit projection.  ad is geared towards the conscious exit.  it's a good tek though and i have used it myself.  a positive result is that the more you do accomplish oobe, in any fashion, the easier it should become to consciously project.

being 'too active' in the process makes me think that you arne't in deep enough trance.  when you are in an almost to light trance state it's easy to try and help w/ the projection in ways you shouldn't be.  when you hit a good trance state it will actually start to feel uncomfortable if you try and physically move to help or do something else that would hinder the projection.

if you can get out, keep doing it.  if you have any more problems  just post em.

i don't know for sure but i don't believe you would be exhausted from trying every day.  you may be a little more tired, maybe, but i doubt it.  i try every day for at least an hour.  i also do some lengthy energy work too.  if you can practice every day then do it.  there are people on here that im sure feel that they are too busy to do even that.

if you ever feel like you have drained your energy just raise some.  also, raising beforehand should give you enough to use up while attempting the projection.

i'm not really sure about what you are asking.  i've never heard of anyone using psi balls to help w/ projection.  if you're energy work is going that great i would suggest relaxing and then raising as much as you can, quickly.  this usually puts me into a very good trance.  the trick is to not let your mind wander and keep up w/ whatever circuit you are using.  about ten or fifteen minutes of some full body sweeps and you should at least be in a very good trance.  after that if you keep raising you may ever trigger the reflex.

if you reach the paralysis state you will be where you need to be in order to project.  the paralysis feels just like you are in the deepest trance state.

i've found that before you go to sleep if you lay down and immediately try and project for about five minutes, w/out doing any energy or trance work, and then go to sleep that there is a good chance you will wake up to a projection or related symptoms.  this may be because it was the last thing on your mind and it probably helps loosen up your double faily quickly.  don't worry if you don't get out or even close.  the important part is to stay focused and very intent on getting out.  your double will loosen and you may even be pulled into a nice trance state faily quickly.   robert mentions something about this in ad.   i belive he recommends using the rope tek as soon as you lay down and comments on how fast it will actually pull all of your chakras open.

i agree w/ micron.  especially because lsd is what brought me here.  i have only used it a few times but the experiences were the most life altering i've ever had.  my life has changed completely and for the better.  certain drugs, if not all, are tools and handled the right way could greatly benefit you.  obviously i'm not saying all drugs are great, but i have never seen the problem w/ trying everything once.  i'm sure there will be opposing opinions.  expanding your consciousness is proving to be a slow and difficult road.  doing any type of drug gives you a small taste of what you can achieve naturally.  i've tried a few things but that's all.  when i did end up trying things it wasn't until i was about twenty one.  i've found that whatever i have experienced in the past while under the influence of anything, i can now reproduce while meditating.  the trance state has wonderous possibilities.

keeping your mind clear is a difficult task.  unless you are very good at it, there won't be much help in trying to while you are attemping an oobe.  if you still hear the voice while trying to project it would be easier to make use of it and try and hold a conversation w/ yourself.  it would be easier to be purposefully distracted then to try so hard at being focused on not being distracted.  the problem w/ this is you may become too distracted and fall asleep instead of projecting.

i've had some lengthy experience w/ that stage right before and after falling asleep.  i've found that your inner monologue doesn't stop when you fall asleep.  it may seem that way  because you don't remember but i know for sure that mine keeps going.  i've been having some help from either a spirit guide or a dead relative in this particular state.  if i start to fall asleep there will come some noise from the astral that will wake me back up.  it happens alot and i appreciate it tremendously.  unfortunately i have not been able to get out to thank them face to face.  the times i find when i'm woken up suddenly right after falling asleep, i catch my last thought.  usually it's something spoken and completely random and senseless.  i believe the last time it happened i was making reference in my head to how a bmw is just like a submarine.  i woke up and started laughing at myself.

ender, where is your teacher located and what does he teach?  i've been trying to find a teacher or style that incorporates energy in the technique.
#286
of course it's possible to see in the dark.  you see the dark.

the cool thing about reading this w/out any music playing is that if you dislike rap, you can pretend it's a poem instead. :) gj

i would try and project in the past and would into some similar problems.  i found that the restlesness came from some physical tension that i would produce when exit sensations started to show.  they were so slight that i didn't notice them at first.  likewise, the increase in breathing was a result of me just thinking that i should be breathing faster because it felt like my heart was beating faster when it wasn't.  also the excitement tends to make you want to breath shallower.  it may help to be aware that your breathing doesn't have to change at all.   remember that when you are asleep, and projecting is at it's most effortless, that you're breathing is soft and slow.

definetly.  how long has your friend been projecting?   to be able to project consistently like that is awesome.

that's a big post, no pun intended.  it's easy to see how many people are overweight here.  it may go unnoticed because most of us were born here and have never left the country.  it may hit home a lot harder if we were in china or somewhere where mostly everyone is thin.  here it's completely normal for us to be out somewhere and half the people we see to be overweight.  it's so easy to do nothing but sit and eat.  tv doesn't help.  i've never owned a television and i don't believe that i'll ever buy one.  i like educational programs, but a completely different atmosphere is present when you are in a place w/out a tv instead of the tv being off.  the group of friends i have is great.  usually when we hang out we don't turn the tv on.

i thought that when you projected that the mind split automatically occured.  i'll have to check again but i don't see how projection would be possible w/out making the mind-split.

after meditating or being in trance for a while i will see a strobe effect too.  it's still there when i open my eyes.  i always thought it was part of you still getting used to coming back to the physical.  similar to how it's easy to be zoned out during the first few waking hours of the day.  still lost in distraction and maybe thinking about the dream you just had.  i connected the actual visual effect w/ whatever the atmosphere was of wherever i was just at.  maybe i'm misunderstanding and you are talking about an actual light that you see.

anything that isn't physical that you 'see', you are perceiving w/ something other than your eyes.  if your third eye is what you are using it won't make a difference if you open your eyes or not.  sometimes while meditating i can see right though  my eyelids and the room that i'm in.  once i could see it so clearly that i thought i had my eyes open.  i had to blink a few times to see the difference.  this was before i read ad and was the event that took me to the bookstore to find out what just happened.

i thought the technique was just to stare at your hands.  i wasn't aware that you should switch it and come back again.  i'm going to try that.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / syncronicity

that's an interesting story and that sounds like an interesting book.  i don't know what sychronicity is, but from that story i get a good idea.  i've been experiencing moments that may be similar to that recently.  i play them down somewhat by telling myself that moments like that were happening all of the time and i only see them now more because i'm more aware.  sometimes they stop me in my tracks though.
#294
yeah that's it.  i intend on spending some time w/ one eventually but now isn't the right time.  i think it will help to be able to stay focused.  my meditation is coming along, but it's still very difficult to keep my mind in one place.  i figure once i can keep my attention on one spot that i should be able to move that wheel, or at least be on a solid track.  i'm actually somewhat surprised at the amount of people that claim success performing teleknisis.  i assumed that in order to be able to do something like that there should be success in meditations that facilitate focus.  i've noticed that many of the people on here don't necessarily do any type of meditation, yet are still successful w/ tk.  maybe it's easier to stay focused while attempting tk or maybe i'm overcomplicating things again.

blastin away.  is that your real name?
#296
the batmobile.  that's what i drive now.  if i could choose my dream car it would have to be a 91 beretta gtz w/ over two hundred thousand miles on it, rebuilt engine, new paint, no stereo, and it would have to break down on average about once a month.
#297
i've been hearing some voices of my own.  at first they startled me but now i like and look forward to them.  if you can actually communicate w/ the voice it would be a great distraction from your body and would probably help tremendously in getting out.  you may try and feel yourself moving towards wherever the voice is.  you don't have to know where it is, just feel yourself moving there when you hear it.

the vibes are scary at first.  even after reading about it so many times, i don't believe anyone felt ok w/ them the first time they were felt.  they grow on you though, fast.  you're on the right track, keep it up.

keeping your mind calm is a very difficult task.  as soon as you get the least bit excited when you are lucid, you lose it.  meditating to keep your mind calm and clear will help.  i don't know of any other way.  also at www.lucidity.com there are many things you could read about to help maintain lucidity.
#299
i believe that as soon as you are aware you are dreaming then you are lucid.  it is possible to have lucid dreams w/out control over the dream.  there is a great site, www.lucidity.com, that will answer most of your questions.  it's also great to read before going to sleep to get your mind thinking about dreaming.  there are several different techniques in there that will help to maintain lucidity once you are lucid.  i've tried most of them and have had some sucess w/ the dream spinning.  i've also tried to stabilize by looking at my hands or something else solid in the dream but it never works for me.  reality fluctuations come and i end up oobe.

astral dynamics is the book to read if you haven't yet.  most of your questions will be more than answered in it.  most, if not all of what the book covers is also in the treatise that you can access from the main page of this site.  what kind of techinique are you using to get out?

i've read that your eyes don't need to be closed to enter  a trance state, but robert recommends them shut for all oobe's.
