Sometimes I do not have to do anything and I ap.    Other times I have to make it happen otherwise it does not happen.    My body and mind feels very relaxed but it does not happen.   When that happens I do an ap technique and it works.

Trying to ap in bed is the worst place.   We are programmed to go to sleep in bed.    Also being in bed is too comfortable.    You are more likely to fall asleep.    You can ap in bed but for some people or a lot of people it is a lot harder to do.

People say you have to have intent to go to other locations.    If you do not have intent it is a lot harder to do.    One way to get intent is to go through a wall and have a strong intent that you are going to a different place when you go through the wall.    You can think of other ways to get intent.    I have gone to other places by going through walls.
You say, lets see if this works.    That could be part of your problem.   You are putting a doubt in your mind.    Try to think positive all the time, not just some of the time.

I love this idea.   I got it from someone a while ago on another forum.    It is a great idea.    When you are in the astral you put love in your heart.   You say I want to see that person.    It works.   I treasure that idea.

Last year I was pregnant and my daughters father was working in Singapore.
When he came home he told me that he met 2 men who told him this folk law tale about a demon who lies over pregnant women when they sleep and sucks their baby right out of them, apparently the women wakes up to this demon all in black with red eyes sitting on or laying on her...he said both men had it happen to their wives and one had gone to scans and everything then went to the doctor after the attack who told her there was no trace of her ever being pregnant.
The night he told me this story I experienced sleep paralysis and saw the entity he was talking about. but when I woke up I still had my baby...how strong is the subconscious mind? obviously I only had that experience because he put it in my head otherwise I never would have.

Not saying I don't believe your story because I am not in your situation but just be aware of the power of suggestion, especially with these stories that go from person to person and suddenly everyone is experiencing the same thing. Next time you go out of body, try fill yourself with happiness and love not fear....I have had many negative energy's attach to me while out of body, they have never hurt me though just annoyed me.
You sound sensible.    I wish the other forum that I go on think like you.    They refuse to change their way of thinking so I gave up trying.    They keep seeing demons and awful things and then other people see the same thing.   A lot of it I do not read anymore.

What makes you think you were pulled out by a separate entity.   You could have just got out by yourself.   It occasionally happens to me.   I do not try to make it happen or encourage it to happen.    It just happens by itself.     I would not worry about it.   Just enjoy the experience.   It is fun.

I keep having reoccurring dreams of scenarios. Never any calls that I ran on... Stuff that never happened. The captain yelling at me saying I am doing a terrible job... HUGGGGE fires breaking out threatening towns and I would always mess up some how and be responsible for things... Firetrucks randomly appearing in good dreams and then turning bad. Not all of them are bad... I just would like to stop having those dreams in particular. Perhaps it's because I still miss it sometimes? Obviously if I still miss it it's going to keep showing up to me. Got t make peace with this and I think all will be good.
I used to have bad dreams.   It was about school and being a failure.    I am 54 years old now and I still have an occasional dream about it.    I do not think about it or talk about it.    I think it is deep down in my system and that is why I still dream about it.    What I suggest is to try and forget about your dreams and try not to pay any attention to it.   That should help and the bad dreams will get less and less.

But for example, I had a neighbor that is a registered sex offender. His crime was committed against a seven year old child. I took it upon myself to become his friend or as least I made a great effort to do so.
I think you are terrific.   It would not be easy for you to do what you did.    I think we could all learn from you.    I can see that there would be a lot of angry people.

Lionheart said it spot on, forgiveness.   Also do not think about it.   The more you think about it, you are likely to get angry and hurt.  I know from experience.    I never want to go there again so I choose not to.    I forgive and I do not think about it.    When it comes to my mind, I put it out of my mind straight away.   Just forget what happened and forgive.

That is a good way of looking at it Lionheart.    I have learnt not to get frustrated if I do not ap.   I realise I may not ap every time I want to.    I have to accept it.    It is a waste of time worrying or getting upset every time I do not ap.    I try and do my best.   If I do not succeed there is always next time.

Thank you Lionheart.   I have learnt recently that meditating is still good practice even if I do not ap.    I know meditating is very good for stress and other things.

A lot of times when I meditate it works.   There are times when it does not work.    Last night I did not ap.   I was meditating for about three hours.   Then I went to bed.     I am not disappointed as I learnt something.    Next time when ap does not happen I will imagine something so I will ap to that place.   Usually I know I am about to ap is when my forehead gets more relaxed than normal.   This morning my forehead did not get more relaxed.    I was meditating for a while but nothing happened.    I decided to imagine that I was at the beach and it worked.    I feel happy about my achievement as I am learning more about what works for me.   For now on I am going to meditate for a while and if I ap that is great.    If I do not ap I will imagine I am at the beach or somewhere else.

This is a very easy technique.   Tell me what you think of it.   Perhaps you think it is awful or good.   The only hard part about it is not to go to bed.   This is what you do.

Lie down on the floor on a very thin mattress so it is not comfortable.   If you are too comfortable you are likely to fall asleep.
Lie on your back and meditate.   If ap has not happened for a while, change to another position that is not comfortable.    Keep changing positions until you ap.   I am not able to lie down in the one position for a long time.    Forcing yourself to lie down in the same position will not work.
It will work but you have to concentrate.   If you loose concentration you are likely to fall asleep.   You must be patient.    Sometimes it does not take long to ap and other times it can take longer.

You are indeed very lucky. I hadn't had  sufficient experience so I did fall for it. And it stopped me from attempting AP for a few years. I wonder how much would have been different, had I only found this site on top of the google search. I did find it eventually couple of months ago but it was because of my inner voice telling me I really should try to learn to AP and to overcome my fear by doing more research. And this forum was the key factor in it. but then, I can imagine many people stopped trying AP for the rest of their lives, not only couple of years, because of these fear-mongers.
You made me realise how lucky I am that I had lots of ap experiences.   I would not like to be put off aping.  Reading your thread reminded me some years ago I belonged to a group called Beezlebuub's teachings or something like that.   I did not like the name but I went.   I am glad I went because I had a lot of fun.   There were other people to talk about ap and we had lunch together.   The people were nice and friendly.   I was doing a course, so I bought a book from them.    Some parts of the book was evil.  We were taught to imagine that we had a rope around our neck so we would be hung or something like that.   It was supposed to make us go up another level or dimension.   It was a long time ago that I read it so my mind is a bit rusty.   The book also talked about demons.   I could not understand how anyone could believe in this.   I did not go back again.   I wanted to throw the book into the bin.   My children burnt the book.

You probably will not like my answer.    I think your husband should get out by himself.    He knows he has to control his excitement.   With practice he will get there.    I think it would be difficult for you to try and pull your husband out as it would be easy for something to go wrong.
When you try to pull your husband out, your husband could already be out somewhere.    You could be imagining your husband's arm or leg.   If it does not work, you are likely to get frustrated and that will return you back into your body again.   I am only guessing.   Your husband may be in his body and other problems can happen.   As I said, it would be a lot easier for him to get out by himself.

Think of good thoughts.    Forgot the negs.   The more you think and worry about it, the more likely it will happen.    Think what you want to see and do and how wonderful it will be.  The more you fill your mind with good thoughts, the more likely the negs will disappear.   It may not happen overnight.   You will have to persevere with it.

My creation is, I just say, I can see.

Someone told me a technique which I figure could work as it worked for him but you need to be able to have a mildly lucid dream for it to happen.

Basically you go throughout your day repeating in your mind "clarity now". You don't see it every second but every few minutes or something so its drummed into your brain and are used to saying it frequently.

That night when your asleep if you have any flicker of mild consciousness in a dream you'll have the "clarity now" thing engrained in your mind and will be saying it still but of course the meaning of it will cause the dream to very slowly and gradually get clearer and more lucid until you have it clear as an OBE where you can go out further.

I know people use the "clarity now" comment a lot when they are in lucid dreams but by using this method you can potentially train your mind to get clearer a lot more frequently in a dream which leads to a fully conscious OBE.

Any views on this method? maybe someones tried it.
I like what you say.   I have just started on saying during the day, I can see.   I am hoping that when I am dreaming I will know that I am dreaming.   It will take time for it to work.   I will let you know how it goes.    I also say, during the day, I am aware and I can think very clearly.   It is just as important to get that awareness as well as being able to see.

Problem with this is that she and others like her should it make more clear often that it is "their" belief. But they don't. They state these things as "FACT" to their clientele instead of stating that it is only what they derived from their own experience (if at all). Unfortunately there are many gullible people out there who are beginners maybe and are exposed to her 'information' only before they ever go somewhere else to get a different viewpoint. Hence the fear porn keeps sticking with them or even prevents them from going on.
You do have a good point.   I was lucky that I had a number of aps so I had some knowledge.   I was able to separate what was sensible and the ridiculous things.   If I knew nothing then that might have been different.   I could have fallen for it.  I was very lucky.

As you know Pavlina has not done anything wrong.   It is what she believes is to be true.    It is important not to believe everything you read, particularly with ap.   When I read about ap, I think that sounds good.   I like that.   When I see something that I think is rubbish I ignore it.    I learn from what I think is sensible and I ignore the rest.

If you are lucky to have involuntary experiences where you do not have to do anything then that is great.   I used to have experiences and ap just happened by itself.   Now I have to work at it for ap to happen.   I have to encourage it to happen and make an effort.   If you just wish it to happen without trying to make an effort, ap  usually does not happen.   When ap happens, it is easy.   When ap does not happen ap is hard.    I do not like using the word hard.   If you get it in your mind that ap is hard, ap usually is a lot harder to do.

Thanks for reminding me Lionheart.   I will do that.

I did not ap last night.   I fell asleep.   I have to plaster in my mind to concentrate.
#324
I agree with Lionheart.   I have noticed when people find it hard to ap, they think of other things that they think can prevent them from aping.   The main reasons not being able to ap is:
Lack of concentration
Mind and body not relaxed

You need to get out of your body quickly.   The quicker you get out, the easier it is to get out.   You have to believe you can get out of your body.   Any doubts will make it harder to get out.
