Welcome to Dreams! / Video Game Lucid Dream?
July 08, 2004, 22:58:50
I never really had a particular video game dream but I lot of times I will realize I am dreaming and the dream kinda takes on a video game feel to it.  You know I get the store all equipment bag that's got every thing and then some in it.  I tend to have a lot of fun in those dreams because of the whole "being in the game" feeling it creates.

Welcome to Dreams! / Greyish/Dark dreams. Why?
July 08, 2004, 22:53:45
I know with me I do get that some times, usually if I am in places thta are really big and open.  The sky still registers as being blue when I look up but if I try ot look out in the distance it is usually really hazzy or grey.  I also just look at it as the "I don't know what's over there yet fog."  Kinda like "Fog of War" if you are a gamer at all.

Welcome to Dreams! / Pain anyone?
July 04, 2004, 10:54:59
I could go on for some time about the intensity of dream pain for me.  But I won't and I will just say that, yes, it can be really bad some times.  So bad that you should have a good idea of what it actually feels like to have whatever it is happen to you in real life.

That kinda makes a little sence actually.  I have always been a logical person despite everything I have experienced.  And even to date I tend to second guess certain feelings and hunches until they prove themselves to be correct.  So for me at least there could be that type of a block.

But the question would then be if that is the case why does it seem to be the very distinct, three quick knocks for many people?  Or were they talking about there being various forms the distraction could take?
#330
I have often contemplated the possability of it being an entity or perhaps a guide trying to get my attention.  But one would think, more so if it was a guide, that the knocking would be more subdued as to not actually break consentration.

Here is another question for ya Naiad780....Does it seem like its always 3 quick knocks?

I have only ever answered the door twice.  Now-a-days I just call out to see if any one is there.  I actually told my room mate that if he knocks on my door to stand there for a couple of minutes before walking away.  That way I don't confuse his knocking with the other knocking.

A lot of times though I do get a voice that goes along with the knock.  But it still sounds like it's coming from out side my body, not form inside my head.  But I get the BANG! BANG! BANG DAVID!  And then dead silence.  There has never anything else said other than my name.  And it's never enough for me to place whose voice it is, so it's not like I can say it was my dad, bother, friend, room mate, mom, sister, brother knocking on the door.  I can't tell.
#331
Every one I have talked to tells me that it is just pre-projection noise...However...I don't think so.  I know what you are experiencing because I have myself.  But to date I don't know exactly what it is or what is going on.

But to compair yours to mine I will use this as a base line.  The knock at times has been so loud that I woke up and answered the door to my room while still half asleep.  I did this only to find no one there and to have the realization that it was infact 2 am and I was the only person awake in the house.

Is it that bad for you too?

Welcome to Dreams! / A dream about my kids
June 26, 2004, 01:33:33
Well I had previously written a rather long post about this but it got lost.  So I will sum up.

Some times a dream is just a dream.  A hope, fear, or any other emotion being played out by the mind.

Basically treat dreams like information.  Some is good, some is bad, and some you just don't know about.

Don't let one piece of information change your life in such a negative way.  Unless you have follow up information I wouldn't allow one dream to alter your life.

Just store that information the same as any other info just incase it becomes important.

Welcome to Dreams! / Very Annoying dream
May 12, 2004, 23:57:17
Well since you think that you were aware, just not able to do any thing about it, I would have to say you were dreaming.  I thought maybe you had a false awakening.

There are a couple of things that can cause the "work" dream.  You mostly have to look at how you feel about work to figure it out.  Work, as stated about, can be a very stressful enviroment for most people.  That being you don't like going because of the job itself, or perhaps some one you don't like is there.  This can cause the brain to try and deal with the stress in different ways.  The main one being dreaming.  So it works like this, you hate work and end up having dreams of having really bad days at work.

Now one of the big reasons I say you have to look at how you feel about work is because your dreams about work could have nothing to do with work at all.  Instead they have to do with feelings being generated else were that are closly related to the way you feel about work.  An example would be that you work with this person, and they do some thing that kinda bothers you, but you blow it off because your at work.  Now later on you're walking down the street and you run into this other person who does almost the same exact thing as the person from work.  But this time it bothers you more because you're not at work and feel that you should not have to deal with it.  So what happens is later that night you have a work dream involving the guy from work you don't like instead of the dude on the street that really ticked you off, because the guy at work is more familiar to you, and generates similiar feelings.

Does that make sence?

So basically you have to look at how work makes you feel, look to see if you have run into anything similar else ware, look at how the dream made you feel, and compare them.  This will help you get a better picture of what is going on.

Welcome to Dreams! / Very Annoying dream

Did you know that you were dreaming at the time?
Or Did you actually think that you were awake and getting ready for work like a "normal" day?
Did this happen just before you actually woke up?

People have dreams about various body parts all the time.  It can be because there is some thing wrong there, or it could simply be some thing that you are self consious about.

Me personally I have lots of dreams were my teeth are falling out.  Mostly I think its because I have bad teeth and worry about them falling out.

Welcome to Dreams! / never dreaming :(

Well its proven fact that is if you are even entering the dream state.  If you aren't than you don't.

The big way to detirmine if you are reaching the proper state of sleep for the night is judging how you feel in the morning when you wake up.

What are your emotions, how do you feel physically, do you have problems moving, did you wake up in the same spot/position you went to bed in.  THings like that.

I know what you are going through I had the same problem for many years.
#339
Of course you could have just had a messed up dream, woke up, fell out of bed, and hit your head.

Through looking at my own dreams and such I have found that people tend to read too much into the dreams that they have and don't accept them at face value.

Yes the injurey itself was rather similar from dream to reality, hence the memory flash.  The passing out part could have been two things.

1, Fear, or rather the fear that you dreamed of dieing in that manner and then hitting your head.  The brain freaks out because your belief system says its not possible so it turns every thing off.  You fall over.

2, The injury.  You could have just smacked your head hard enough cause you to black out.  Head injuries will do that easily.  It doesn't take much to knock a person out.  The dream being so fresh in your mind came to the surface at the last second.

All in all, me personally, I would not worry about it too much and chalk it up to happenstance.

Welcome to Dreams! / DEMON?
April 04, 2004, 03:05:22
It could also be as simple as you trying to face your own "inner demons" through dreams.  Trying to deal with your own various fears or qualities about yourself that you don't like and want to change.

Or it could be as simple as reading too much of this stuff about demons.  Same as watching a really scary movie and then having a dream wiht similar elements in it.

Welcome to Dreams! / Recurring themes

On average a car or some kind of vehicle is often how you view yourself of your life.  The condition of the vehicle is kind of a "how you feel about it" kind of thing.  I.E. if its a piece of junk then you may not like your current situation(s), and if it is a flashy sports car your probably fairly happy with your situation.

There are several things you could be doing with your vehicle and they all mean different things.

1. Getting it fixed.  Could be showing that there is some thing about yourself or your life that you want to change or need to look at.  It is an indication of a problem that needs attention.

2. Accident.  Another indication of a problem, but some thing that could be a little further out but comming to a head soon.  On the plus side its some thing that can be avoided.

3. Travelling.  Kind of shows the direction you feel you are heading.  Just driving is just that...cruising through life, checking things out, nothing is really wrong.  Getting lost however could indicate just that, you could feel like you have no direction, or your not doing what you want and can't figure out how to get there.  Trying to get back to where you were is could be showing that you want to return to "how things used to be", or the typical "mid-life crisis" depending on your age.

4. Ariving at a destination.  Good or bad depending on the place and how you feel about it.  Current situations or habits are bringing you to this point.  The opportunity to change your destination is always available.

That's about all I can think of right now.

But keep in mind one thing.  Some times a car is just a car, or vehicle, and shows up in our dreams because that is how most of us do 90% of our travelling.  Also our vehicle is also a very large and important part of our life, any happiness or unhappiness about our real vehicle can very easily be transfered to the vehicles we use in our dreams.

Welcome to Dreams! / Lucid to Astral

Realization inside a dream is a big step.  That is when most people loss the control or the dream all together.  I have found that things tend to get a little clearer when I start to test the dream out.  It's the whole "okay I'm dream so now what" mentallity I have aquired.  I have found out that the more thought and awareness of thought durring dreams leads to a much clearer dream.  This has lead me to much more realistic dreams, and further on into projecting from them.

Most people will agree that it is seems easier for a spirite to reach you in your dreams rather than through a physical experience.

Welcome to Dreams! / This dream concerns me.

The not recognising your surroundings when you woke up for real is rather common.  It has a lot to do with the kind of dream you were having and the speed at which you woke up.  It can take a few seconds for the brain to fully realize where you are when you jump from one situation to the next.  The frame of mind you were in near the end of your dream is another big reason for this.

You were in "warrior mode", also called "fight of flight".  When an individual is in that mode of thinking they are usually insanely focused on every thing that is going on around them.  Durring that the brain is activly processing every thing on an instinctual level deciding what, if anything, is a threat, and what to do about it.  This in combination with the sudden change of locations is confusing.  When you woke up you basically had to figure out all the who, what, where, and how's all over again.  Then process all that informaiton again to figure out if you were safe.

Welcome to Dreams! / This dream concerns me.

One of the things that I would ask would be how you were feeling before you would sleep in your dream.  Did you feel a need to sleep at that time?  Were you aware that you were already dreaming at the time?  Did you have another dream inside your dream as a result of sleeping?  Can you remember the content?

On the other side many of the people I have talked to about "work dreams" are often having some kind of difficulty at work.  Is that the case with you?  Do you like your job?

Often it is helpful to look at the various real life situations that dreams may referance.

For me the feeling of sleep inside a dream is  often a sign that I am going to project and often do when I get tired in the dream I am having.  This usually starts to happen shortly after I lay down in said dream.

I was baptised as baby and there for never given the choice.  However when it came time for my first communion (sp?) which is what usually when you are 6-8 years old I was aware enough to make the choice of not following any religion.  So I kinda consider my baptism null and void.

In all actuallity many drugs are tested against placebos as a way of testing actual affectiveness.  Basically they take a group of people and tell them all about what the drug is sappose to help them with and then only half of the people actaully get the drug being tested while the other half gets a placebo.  The most common use of this kind of testing is with headach and allergy medicines.

This thread is making me feel dumb.

I have a certain degree of desire to go back to school but I lack the motivation to do so.  Just call me lazy.

Part of the problem is what do I go back to school for?  There are a few things that I would not mind studying but honestly I don't see a practicle aplication for them in my life.  But I sappose that could change as I still don't really see myself doing any one thing for the remainder of my life.

I guess my biggest problem to over come would be first making that choice as what to do.

Oh yeah, I don't hold any degrees in anything what so ever.  But I did finish high school.
