I only get 3 things really.

My web site.
www.geocities.com/metaphysicalmonthly/home.html

The Astral Pulse because of the few topics I have posted in.

And  www.holisticempowerment.org/
A good web site to test remote viewing.  They have a on going study that I have participated in a few times.

To help facilitate this a little better I am going to be on line at a regular time for this starting Sunday's and Monday's at 700pm ARizona/USA time (which is -700hrs GMT).  Since most of the time I am on late at night, or early in the morning depending your spin on life, (3am) I have decided to set aside time to actually do this.  This is something I am really interested in but then later figured that the frequency that I am on-line could make it difficult for people to get a hold of me so now I have a regular time.

Yes.  But the term "mind reader" suggests that there is no communication going only that a person is reading a targets mind usually with out thier knowing it, or allowing it.
#354
Oh....You mean that's wrong.....

I would have to agree with you fully Mustardseed.  That is why I am Agnostic and not an Athiest.  I simply lack the knowladge either way on the subject.  I also agree that it is most likely possible that any god would be on such a different level than the rest of us that we could not possibly know what he or she thinks, that being unless god itself was present and explained things.  And I find any one who starts a sentance with, "Well (insert diety) wants us to do such and such, or say such and such" is arogant to think that they know beyond a shadow of a doubt what thier chosen god wants everyone else to do.  It is just insane to think that you are so special that your diety picked you over every one else.  That is just what I believe.

I know that answer.  From the great scholars Chech and Chong.  Its the magic dust...you know a little for the raindear, little for santa, a little more for santa.

First off there is no specific how to guide for empathy or telepathy.  Only a lot of guesses and experienced based logic as is the rest of this post.

This is only my thoughts on how it works given my own abilities or inabilities.  I see a few factors on how these things effect you and the people around you.  People in general want others to know what they are feeling and thinking.  That is why most often it is easier to read people in a social enviroment.  That is also, IMO, why it is easier to pick up on negative emotions.  This being that they are either A. negativly re-inforced, ie. thier intent is to due harm, or B. in extream need of some form of help.

Now when dealing with specific individuals the rules only change a little.  You need to look at a few different things, like how much do they know aout these kinds of things, how well do you know them, personality and such.  Typically the more a person knows about telepathy the easier it is for them to control thier owns thoughts enough to at the very least block themselves from trasmitting anything unitentionally.  With people that you know well you can usually form stronger bonds with but they can also often block specific information from you because it is likely that you would not do the kind of probing that could cause problems to get the information you are looking for.  An individuals personality plays a big part as well.  Extroverts are easier to read than introverts, things like that.  The direction a persons mind is focused matters as well.  A well focused mind tends to block out a lot of things even if that is not the goal.  Be it meditation or a hardcore game of Tetris, the effect is the same.

Welcome to Dreams! / death in dreams
December 20, 2003, 01:28:50
Usually when a person is affraid of some thing they experience it a lot in dreams as a way of dealing with thier fears.  It is often the same with people who "know" that they do not have much longer.  I used to work in a hospital with primarily elderly patients.  They often report having dreams were they die.  Also a lot of times when a person becomes very ill they have a lot of dreams dealing with the various regrets in thier life.

It is a common thing.  I look at it as a way the mind tries to put every thing at ease before death.  Sorta giving a person the chance to deal with these things and clean the slate up a bit.

Welcome to Dreams! / Common Dream Themes.
December 20, 2003, 01:18:51
I am one of those "and now some thing completely different" kind of people.  I just never know what I am going to get when I lay down.  It changes so much I really can't say that there is any one theme.  I mean I might have a weeks worth of one type of dream but for the most part thats it.

Like this week.  Last night I don't remember, but the day before I was trying to get away from some thing because I ended up wrapped up in my sheets like a mummy, the day before that was a sexual dream, the day before that was recalling a whole bunch of people from my past, and the five days prior to that were fighting evil dead things because I have been playing too much "Eternal Darkness" on the game cube.

Usually and stretch of the same theme in dreams is a direct result of some thing I am doing durring the day.  Like playing video games or watching movies.

I would agree with Kozzi.  I don't say it was a lucid dream unless I am aware of what is going on.  The realization that I am dreaming has to occure for me say it was lucid.  I go on this because I have had some cartoony, black and white, and full blown realistic lucid dreams.  But I have also had the same kinds of regular dreams.  The only difference is that in lucid dreams I am activly thinking about the situation and such and the others are often recalled as memories.

Welcome to Integral Philosophy! / What is happyness?
December 20, 2003, 01:02:23
Happiness is bliss or the total lack of concern over all things considered negative by ones mind.

However happiness could also be defined as ignorance.  As someone above stated that yes bringing happiness to those that don't have it can bring you happiness, but you kid yourself if you think that you are solving any problems by giving a homeless guy 2 bucks to buy some food.  It is but a temporary solution, and sure in the end you feel good about doing it, but your happiness will last longer than the homeless guys.

People often think that you can make other people happy by doing things like that.  But really you can't, you are only making yourself happy, and fooling yourself into too.  So really the only way to be happy is to wash away the problems of the world from your mind and just assume that every thing is okay.

So I guess I would redefine happiness like this.  Happiness is more like crack.  It's attainable and great, but the come down is rough.

I used to get this, I hasn't happened in a while now though, at least 6 months.  Since I only ever heard it at certain places or points in various places I concluded that it was the building or location I was at.  Almost every time I have heard it I have figured that there was enough metal and electricity running around that the area could act like a big radio or speaker and that was what I was hearing.

It used to get really annoying at when I was working in this one building.  I would hear the radio ever so faintly and it always sounded like it was in the next room over.  I fixed it by just turning an actual radio on.  I noticed that I never heard it when my radio was on, even if I could not hear my radio.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / BWGen dangerous?
December 10, 2003, 02:33:57
I have had only one problem with the BWGEN but I have no hard proof that it was a result of using the program.  But anyhow.  I noticed that often when using the program I would wake up 2 hours after I started the program which seemed to nock me out with in 5 minutes.  At first this was not a problem.  I started trying to make some adjustments to the presets when I encountered the problem.  After having tweaked one of them a little I used it a few times.  Each time I fell asleep shortly after starting it and woke up 2 hours later.  It became habit that I would then turn off the computer and go to bed.  However after changing the preset I found that it was more difficult to go back to sleep after I woke up and turned off the computer.  It was then that even on the days I was not using it I would go to bed and wake up 2 hours later, sit there for a few minutes and go back to sleep.  This turned into me sleeping for only 2 hours and not being able to go back to sleep.  That's when I stopped using the program.  It took about a month for the 2 hour sleep cycle to go away.

1.  I could be them or it could be you.  You need to look at what you get emotional over and try to figure out the why's from that side.  Break down as many of the times as you can into individual parts to see what exactly it was that was bothering you.  Was it the person, the action, or the result?

2.  It was all the extra emotional baggage.

3. I'm not delusional I'm psychotic...There's a differance.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Two types of telepathy?
November 24, 2003, 16:31:06
I think the whole confusion with telepathy and its possible various levels is simply one of how a person sends, receives, and translates information.  Much the a person understands and translates standard communication, like when we are trying to learn something.

For instance, some people are visual learners.  They learn the best when there is visual stimulus like charts, graphs, maps, hand outs, ects.  Now if a visual learner is also a telepath then they would most likly send pictures and would in turn get greater understanding from pictures being sent to them.

To continue the on, there are also verbal learners.  Those are the kind of people who will draw and do various other things while you are talking to them.  That is because they learn the best through verbal communication and there for can do pretty much anything else as long as they can still hear what you are saying.  These people as telepaths would most likly be better at sending and receiving voice.

Lastly you have your touch learners.  They learn by hands on, by doing.   Now this may sound like a stretch but I think I am right here on this one.  I believe that these kinds of leaners as telepaths would be better at dealing with emotional content.  This is because emotional content triggers a physical responce.  That is why we laugh when we are happy, cry when we are sad, and feel like we weigh a ton when we are depressed.

Granted there are a few possible combinations with the various learning styles but I don't think I need to point them out.  Anyhow, I believe that it is things like this that influence just how you send and receive information telepathicly and as such would influence who or what you can communicate with in that manner.

Welcome to Dreams! / death in dreams
November 24, 2003, 15:53:52
It is difficult to say what a "death dream" means or is pointing to.  There are several possabilities.  A good suggestion was the one made earlier about it maybe being past life deaths you are seeing.  However I have run across another set of interesting possabilities.

The one I liked the most is that it is a symbolic dream about the ending of a phase in your life.  Growing and moving on from one way of life into another.  Or a major change in the way one thinks.  The only way to really know is to seriously look at the various elements of the dream and compair them with the current situation your life is in.  But when doing this you have to try to stick to what you absolutely know.  If you have any doubts about how something relates from dream to reality then you should put it aside until you can confirm it.  This way you don't fool yourself into believing that apples and oranges are the same thing.

Of course that pretty much holds true for any dream work a person does.  I believe that it was Mark Twain that said, "Some times a cigar is just a cigar."

Me personally I can not recall if I have ever actually died in a dream or not.  I know that I have had several intense dreams where I have received massive trauma, stuff that should have killed me.  But I never seem to die, I just keep going.  Some times its really painful while other times its just seems more annoying and there is no feeling to it.   I have noticed a couple of time I will lay there for a minute or two thinking that "whatever" should have killed me so I must be dead.  But then it dawns on me that I am thinking and usually stand back up and the dream continues while in the mean time I am missing a leg, arm, or some such.

I think its fun to be around drunk people.  Thier thoughts flow and they are extreamly easy to read because they don't have thier normal consious guards.  Plus they are usually happy or at least funny.

I would have to agree with TheSeeker.  Once you know what the problem is it is easier to deal with.  It's all a matter of acknowladging that certain emotional content or thoughts are not "yours".  Once you can seperate "you" from the extra information you can start ignoring the things you don't want.

Welcome to Dreams! / Dreaming oddities
November 16, 2003, 12:01:44
Dreaming in the third person is more common than you think.  Some how I would be willing to bet that certain habbits effect this, like gaming.

Reading, writing, and math in dreams is a bit tricky.  First off reading, for me it seems to work fine at first.  I will look at a sign or a news paper and know what it says when I first look at it.  But if I look at it again it will say some thing different.  Also it is not so much that I am reading the sign or paper, it is more like I am getting an impression of what it says.

I have never tried to write anything that I can recall.  SO I am not really sure.  Math is damn near impossible while dreaming.  This is because it is more of a logical process than reading.  My brain seems to skip any math that happens in dreams.  I mean its there and all but for some reason its always okay, even if "2+2 = 5.5".  It's always okay and does not register as being wrong in anyway.

Now I would assume that more of these various kinds of functions could eventually be overcome depending on a persons level of awareness durring dreams.  Seeing as more of your consious mind is active durring dreams where you are more aware or fully lucid, I don't see why it could not help to perform some of the more logical functions.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Empathy

Empathy and telepathy are fun.  Although at times it can be a burden.

So were you born with this or did you have to work at it? Did you know what it was when it started?  How long did it take you to realize that not everyone functions at that level?

No. Society does not give you the right to use your penis.  Society puts restrictions on its use if it does not fall into what society has defined by thier happy and clouded views.  Nature gave you the ability and desire to use it and if society had not walked into the picture things like mating would most likely be easier given the apparent nature of man.

True society provided rights and not nature, but society imposed restrictions on those rights.  Nature does not give any rights to any thing.  Nature is only chaos and because of this only nature is free.

"HOW ABOUT THEM NICKS?", yelled Locke in an odd attempt to change the subject.  "Oh, well never mind", Lock continued, "It's about time I got back to my journey."  Slightly confused Locke looked around for some familiar ground.... "Where was I heading again?"

Okay, my thoughts about masturbation.

1.  I consider it more a regulating function rather than one of a pervert sitting in a dark room with the door locked.  In my view it is a needed function of humanity for those who are not past the wants and needs of sexual interaction.  In other words it helps to keep us sane when we just can't find a willing partner.

2.  Anyone who tells you that they don't masturbate is dead, broken, or a liar.   Many people who even have sex regularly still masturbate, more so the men.

3.  If your not afraid to talk about sex then you should not be afraid to talk about masturbation, they go hand in hand..[;)]  It being a normal function it should be talked about just the same.  Granted I won't run around yelling that I do it but I won't dodge the question either.

4.  Masturbation itself is not wrong, just as sex is not wrong.  Now what ever it is that gets you excited or that you think about durring the process maybe wrong, but even that is largly subjective with only a few exceptions which should be wrong no matter where you live.
