i don't know if you are kidding or not (either way it's funny)but just in case...read the treatise on it on the main site.

sounds like projections to me.  have you read ad or the treatises on here?  it would answer many questions and all of the info would be very helpful.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / perfection
November 11, 2002, 17:24:33
these are more ideas on what a particular idea of perfection is.  i'm talking about just the concept of it and where it came from.  all of the ideas that have been come up w/ in general have been formed from simple ideas.  more complex ideas are just simple ideas put together.  the more complex it is the more simple ideas that were put together to form it.  to get perfect from better and better and better is a huge jump.  there isn't something that was built up to get it.  since we have never see anything perfect how could we come up w/ an idea as complex as that?  perfect is a complex concept.  it may not seem that way because we are all so used to using the word.

Welcome to Spiritual Evolution! / EGOS
November 11, 2002, 17:15:17
i too have a vague idea on what an ego is.  i always thought it as your personality or how you thought about yourself.  someone who is very humble is someone who i would think wouldn't have an ego or as big as one who wasn't as humble.  i believe your ego may be any part of you that likes or dislikes anything, aside from physical pain.  opinions and such on matters on aestheticity.

by subconsciously trying to achieve the label mystic, do you mean consciously but your pushing it down so you try not to think about it, or that thought doesn't come to mind unless you sit back and look at what you are doing? i've found that there are many  people that start out on the spiritual path for reasons that would hinder their progression like for the label or maybe to be able to perform some certain skill like telekinisis.  for me anyway, after a while you start to see that there really is more to it than that and maybe the interest will start to shift, along w/ your impetus for trying to accomplish your goals.  this is not how everyone is but it's very easy to be like this once you start to really get going.

choosing your wording carefully is someting that i believe almost everyone on here does.  maybe i'm wrong about this but i myself do not speak the way i type.  if you were sitting next to me it would be totally different.  there are words i use posting that i wouldn't or don't use speaking.  this is normal, i believe.  i can't say why i do it for sure.  it may be to help w/ ease of reading for the readers.  i also like using vocabulary words and coming across as strong and effecient as possible when writing anything.

this is something that just came to mind and since i haven't given it much thought just take it for food for thought.  you say you adopt your mystic persona on here but doesn't everyone adopt some type of persona in every situation?  when you believe you are acting the way you truly act, isn't that also a persona that you've adopted from an earlier time?  sure showing off for the wrong reasons could be considered fake but if you are conscious of why you are acting a certain way and honestly don't believe you are being fake, i don't see a problem w/ changing the way you handle situations.

if this doesn't help it may work better to think of an ego as a very good waffle.  the spelling is a little different but they're damn good waffles.

u can be lucid and not in control.  lucid just refers to you being aware that you are dreaming.

i read a book on sleep driving.

#357
it's been suggested that is your double being jerked back into your body.  as you fall asleep your double leaves.  when you awake it comes back.  if you wake up too fast after you've fallen asleep you'll get that feeling of jolting because it's being jolted back into your body.  i used to get it when i was too tired to drive and was on the highway.

it may be easier to believe in god if we all had the same idea on the explanation for it.  if we all were to agree that god was 'x', it may be easier to believe 'x' existed because we do.  when someone says that astral projection is bs or that it's crazy, the easiest reply for me to say is that our existence right now is just as bs and just as crazy but normally is taken for granted or looked over because it's everyday.  you can't get something from nothing.  existence is truly awesome.  awe-some.   if it were possible to be 'non-existence' and somehow it was told to you that our lives as we know it here existed, you'd probably say that's crazy.  if we exist, anything and everything does exist.  to say yes to one existence is to say yes to them all.

i haven't communicated w/ any yet i believe.  maybe it would be a good idea to ask them what you just asked us.  about if anyone asks or has asked that stuff yet.  :)

what do you mean by different levels of god?  do you mean different levels of existence?  if u believe that your god is an everywhere present being wouldn't that make that god in time and space?  you use 'him' alot.  if god were a he, wouldn't that make women less?  if there was a creator then what other proof would you need besides the ability to have that thought in the first place?  what other proof would u need than your existence?

not believing in jesus as in existed or agreed w/ the man?   have u read the bible?  if u met god wouldn't you be one w/ god?

it sounds like you believe that there is a good possibility that this god wants worship.  if that were so and there was a creator, wouldn't it make more sense to make something that would do just that?

i'm not telling anyone anything about god helping them through struggles.  im suggesting it's possible if god existed that he could have helped someone through whatever.  how would they  know?  what's to say if someone died it wouldn't actually help them  in the end?  maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't.  maybe they mourn for a year, two , ten, to  have the rest of your life and including that time to reflect on it and change the person.

your 'natural laws' idea should answer your question about god interfering w/ the guns idea, or more generally interfering at all.

i believe it's either known or thought or maybe just my opinion that prayer works better when asked in generalization.  asking for specifics may be more selfish.  maybe.

sounds like your not to keen on your idea of god yet you still capitlize it when you type it. :)

i usually don't give my personal opinions on subjects like this.  you'll notice i use 'they, someone, person' instead of 'you'.  my opinion in this case however, is that you are not really sure what you believe in.  it's hard to have any type of negative feeling on what you  aren't sure you believe in.  pinpointing god may be impossible so how to you go about making any decisions on 'it', let alone negative ones?  it's hard to discuss something that you can't discuss.

have you had any reiki experiences?

swiss cheese, kindly though.

coral try looking up tubelike structures and astral gateways.  it sounds exactly like what you are describing. i've been in a lot of them and they are fanstastic.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Breath awareness
November 02, 2002, 19:12:01
honestly the few times that i've been out have been so short and unexpected that i wasn't aware of my breathing.  a few lucid dreams that i've had though have shown me that any thought at all about my physical takes me right back to it.  how do you know you are breathing w/out the feeling of it?  what motion are you making that u can't see your chest moving in and out?

it's possible to train your body to breath how you breath when you meditate or slower at least then normally.  just keep doing it during the day and pretty soon you'll be dong it when you'r not thinking about it, or so i've read.

#367
i would suggest reading the treatise again.  i've read ad a few times and it seems it has been helpful everytime.  don't hesitate to ask any questions.  i was just saying the info you get is valuable too.  i'll try and say something wise here like the only stupid question is the one not asked.  have you read where robert describes how he's sat down before and immediately went into the rope tek?  it can produce some dramatic results.  try that and see what happens.  it might give you a better idea on whats stopping you.  remember that this is  natural occurence.  don't get caught up in the exacts of what you are reading.  they are just meant to show you a few different ways to do something that you do all of the timea lttle bit different.

#368
have you read ad or the treatises on here yet?  i'm nto trying to deflect your questions but you may be able to find some things out there.  if you can reach any level of trance, try an exit tek.  if it doesnt work then find out why.,or post your experience on here.   but as easy as it is to just post your questions on here and have some suggestoins thrown at you, the most valued information about your exerience that can help you the most is gonna come from you.  really take the time to find out exactly what is going on.  the longer you take w/ a  problem the stronger you are going to feel about conquering it when you do.   as in you'll know how to deal w/ it when it arises again if so.

Welcome to Integral Philosophy! / worship

i was just stating my opinion but i was doing it as quietly as i could.  i typed swiss cheese, kindly though to say i thought that there were a lot of holes in the topic, but i wasn't saying it in  a bad way.

i believe in order to discuss issues like this there has be be clear cut definetions of the terms used.  worship is one of them and i'm not talking about what the dictionary says.  everyone could have a different idea on what worship is.  god also is pretty undefineable.  by that i mean to everyone.  everyone definetly has their own opinion on what god could be.  here we have one word that maybe can be agreed on and another that can't.  you say 'he' so i assume you believe god is an entity.  i may believe that god is existence.  i love existence so what should i say if i believe god is existence, in reply to your post?  if it wasn't clear what everyones idea of god is than how would you know how to feel about anyone else's opinion.  how would you know how to take it in?

when struggles are finally overcame, who's to say (if there is a god in the way that some  think) that the person in question was the one who overcame?  who's to say god didnt help right there at the end where the struggle ended?  maybe it would have gone on longer.

if someone believes in prayer but doesnt see results that are expected, how is it known that results never occured from it at all? if you pray someone have a 'good' life and some 'bad' things happen, maybe they aren't that bad because it made for a stronger person.   how can anyone be sure prayer doesn't work.  also, what is prayer?  for many of us it's asking for something, whether it be for yourself or for others.  if you pray for someone else, aren't you asking that they be looked over or taken care of?  prayer could also just mean intent to someone.  i may 'pray' by thinking 'i know i have the power to make myself healthy, or to make someone else happy and i send my best intent to do so.'

sleep as you are referring to it comes across as your mind sleeping.  your mind sleeping and body sleeping are different.  if you could actually focus your mind on one thing and keep it there while you laid down to sleep,  then you would most likely end up in a lucid dream w/out a break in consciousness.  from experience it's extremely difficult to keep your mind focused like that.  if you could focus on a scene though like you said it may be easier to ignore your body and lose track of it.  sometimes i'll go through a video game in my head.  one that i've already beaten and know exactly where all the guys are and stuff.  it's easy to lose track of yourself and keep your mind from drifting that way.

this  thread brings up an interesting observation.  i m assuming now that a new page for a thread won't be introduced because of the length of the thread, but for more reply's instead.  i was wondering aobut this a  while back.

the planes are pretty geometrical.  and the gateways to them.  it could be possible you are seeing them very vaguely.

#373
i lean towards hypnogogic imagery actually being the astral.  a part of it.

if that cotton candy deal helps you get to where you need to be then use it.  maybe it's a symbol u can use to help you out.  that's what they are for.

would that be wrong?  even in a crowd maybe at a sporting event or something?

i was just thinking about part of the treastise i read on  astral sex from the home page here.  i believe robert says you actually turn into huge sex organs, which would help explain why it feels so good.
