This can also be done by double exposing film.  Basically you are taking two pictures on the same space on the film.  A picture like this can be produced by almost any basic non-digital camera.

I see/have seen three different types of shadowy figures.

For me the most comon occurance is earth bound spirits which I see as a shadowy haze in the rough form of a person, more like an outline.  I usually get an emotional intent from these things which is why I think they are what I think they are.  They seem only vaguely aware of thier condition (dead) and I usually only spot them as they are passing through an area.  I never encountered one that seemed to take up residance anywhere.

The scond are these shadow creature things for lack of a better description.  They are usually small, fast, and dart between hiding places.  These are the ones that usually give off the whole "bad vibe" thing for me.  I am never really able to tell what they may be doing but in some places that I have been and spotted these things the place already had a creepy vibe which leads me to believe that some of them were living there.  I have spotted them in othre kinds of places and in open daylight while they were moving from cover to cover.

The third I saw reutinly up until a few years ago.  This I believe was one entity.  He also had a very specific appearance and feel to him.  A more detailed description can be found here. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=936

Now for me I only ever see this kind of stuff while I am awake, never in any of the dreams or APs that I have had.  And just for the record I have never been a user of drugs, I don't drink, and I have never been drunk.  I also have never been on any perscription narcotics either.  I did go through a period of depression where the sightings of these types of entities was greater.  But it was something that was there before and continues now.

Welcome to Dreams! / New member with some questions
October 22, 2003, 10:33:31
There really is no best place to start, it all depends on the person.  Some people jump straight into APs, while others only ever do LDs.  My suggestion would be to just start with one and see how it works for you and the move on to another one, if need be, pending your results.  Also this method for many just kinda automatically leads them into the areas that help them the best.

In my opinion the biggest thing that helps with lucid dreaming is the ability to remember your "regular" dreams, or actually any dream activity.  This will also help if/when you decide to start trying AP.

Many people who do dream work and such keep some kind of log or journal of thier experiences.  This also helps many with memory rentention and can help to bring about awareness while you are dreaming.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Two types of telepathy?
October 20, 2003, 04:35:03
I don't think that is so much that there are different types of telepathy it's more that certain people are better at understanding different kinds of thought.  But I am willing to bet that if they put some effort into it that the above examples could learn to communicate with on all levels and not just with thier chosen type.

Hey Jeff,

I checked out your program and I like it.  I registered on your forum too and made a couple of posts.  I think that the program has a lot of potential as a quality tool.  It also has a lot of potential for growth as well.  I hope that this works out for you and that you continue to improve the program.

I didn't mention my Sign, which is Libra.

But I don't know for some people all this stuff just fits too perfectly to be accidental.  Like me for instance, I am a Libra through and through there is no getting around it.  Also everything else that I have looked up on names, numbers, or signs fits me 90% of the time.  It is almost kinda freaky when I think about it.  Actually the only thing I can think of that regularly is off are the daily horoscopes since they are usually talking about work or relationships and I am currently without both, but even when I was working it was always alone most of the stuff didn't apply because the co-workers and supervisors aren't normaly around at 1 am.

What good are pride and patriotism?.....Oh my, I am going to need my smokes.
Here we go.

It is true pride has its down points.  Most people that it can only lead to the kind of person who is too proud to ask for help.  But pride has so many good points as well, to include the stuborn aspect often associated with it.  For the most part pride makes you happy for both you and other people.  You do a task that you thought you would never be able to do, step back, look at it and say, "I did that."  That's pride, pride in ones self, pride in ones ablilty, and it makes you feel good about yourself.

What about the things that you do that you are not proud of?  That lack of pride often makes you want to try and change things.  Mostly this deals with ones self but still.  The lack of pride in some thing can also be a driving force to rectify a situation.  It make you want to change things into something that you can take pride in.

Patriotism and pride go hand in hand.  In my opinion a true patriot loves thier country but can see what is wrong with it.  The pride one feels for being who they are makes them want to fix those things that they see wrong with thier country.  A true patriot does not have to agree with ever choice made by the leaders of thier country, but they must be willing to voice thier opinion when they think something was not done right.  A true patriot takes on the responsibility of trying to help guide thier country into a better future.  A true patriot wants thier country to lead by example, not by force.  A true patriot knows that no matter what system of government a person lives under it is ultimately ruled by the people and not those in charge.  A true patriot is willing to fight to make thier country, thier home a better place for thier children.

I can understand the why we said the pledge in school.  At the time of course I did not understand it, but now I do.  In my view it is not a point of control or any thing like that.  But instead I suggest that it is used so that people start at a young age to feel pride in the place that they live.  We pledge to the ideals that the flag holds not to the flag itself.  The flag is a symbol of what we were and the pledge is a symbol of our hope for a better future.

We want liberty and justace for ALL, not just Americans.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / It's Opposite Day!
October 16, 2003, 05:28:34
Wow, I guess I wasn't the only one who was bored. [:o)]

But now a philosofical paradox that has been brought up in this thread.

Opposite day = non-existance.

If it were truely opposite day then existance would continue, and so would I.  Lets sappose that that the above statement was true.  The everything that I am would cease to exist.  However at the same time everthing that I am not would also come into existance and I would continue to be.  So would I still be me?  Or would I be you?  As you can see several things can be applied to this.

1. It could be argued that because I am not you and you are not me as I cease to exist you would start to exist and as you cease to exist I would start to exist.  Ah, but the paradox arises, who are you and who am I?

2.  However, many times when I am asked who I am I will simply respond with "I'm Dave."   Which usually attracts the question, "Well who the @#&$ is Dave?"  [;)]  To that I respond, "I am every thing and I am nothing."  To mean that, to me I am everything, I am my own world.  However in the grand view of things I am not even a grain of sand in an hour glass.  So the paradox arises again, if I am everything and I am nothing, would I even know anything has changed?

3.  It could also be brought up that we, although individual by design, are a part of everthing.  SO if the above was true would cease to be individual and become everything, only to find that we are a part of an individual?

4.  But then what about god?  Would he/she cease to exist as well, or suddenly come into existance?

Now think about this... What if we are the result of this happening before?

To reset brain functions to "normal" levels pound head repeatedly on desk.  If this does not correct the problem, seek help and have them do it for you.

With out emotion, and I mean all emotions, we simply would not be the people we are.  There are no bad emotions.

I will, with no doubt in my mind, stay by the above.

Emotions fuel us, they let us know we are alive.  If you had no emotions at all you would simply exist, and not live.  With out them there would be no passion, no drive to push us on, and there would be no value in anything.

It is our actions not our emotions that lead to so much that is wrong in the world.  The only way to fully understand this idea that there are no bad emotions is to understand yourself, to know what it is about a person, situation, or phrase that makes you feel the way you do.  Only when you know why can you make the choices of how and what and allow yourself to use that feeling, that emotion on a positive level.

Even emotions such as anger and hate can be used on a positive level if you know thier source.  Many times you will find, more so with these particular emotions, that the responce you feel is not because of the person or situation directly.  But you feel them because it is a reflection of yourself, or an aspect of yourself that you do not like.

To have emotions is to be alive.

Mustardseed.

I do not think that anyone will take offense.  Use of scripture and various religious sayings to help define the way you think, so that people understand why's and what not's is fine.  You have not struck me as the kind of person who tries to force others to think like they do.  That's where everyone has the problem.

I would be willing to bet that at some point, in the very early stages, James did test the validity of the entity in question.  But he did so in his own way.  It is some thing that almost everyone does.

You do however make a good point with that one line.  There are plenty of various sayings one could use, but they all imply the same thing.
Wolf in sheep's clothing.
Greek's bearing gifts.
Swimming with sharks.
And on and on.

The process is all a matter of what fits into your belief system.  There is also the perspective of being the one who has the experience.  They are the only ones who can eventually tell who or what they are dealing with.  The rest of us can only speculate.

FT,

It is true to some extent that we reap what we sow.  But many of the things that happen through life are a product of our own doing, but not in the manner in which it sounds.  Things that happen to you are more often then not a reaction of what you do but what you think.  I have read your posts and spoken to you many times and there is much negativity in your thoughts.  You think that everything is wrong, that nothing can be fixed, and you do not yet see the reason for this kind of existance.

The people that harrass you, forget about them.  You will not be able to change them, and you not be able to prevent it from happening.  You need to accept that some people are just that way and move on.  Although you may say or even actively think that you do not care what these people think of you, but you do.  I know this because you care, you actually may care a little too much about somethings.  I can seeitin the way you write and the things you write about.  You care about the world, the condition it is in, the effect you have on it, and what can be done to fix it.

You need to move on and accept things as they are.  This includes you, the people around you, and the world in which you live in.  You are lost, confused, and have no idea what you are doing.  But you know what,   THAT IS NORMAL  , more so for the stage of life that you are in.

So what if you don't know who you are.  So what if you can not define your life into neat little packages.  Do you really want to be a person who is so easily catagorized?

When ever some one asks me to define who I am, the first words out of my mouth are, "I'm Dave."  Everything else that follows is largely unimportant and it constantly changes.  But in the end "I'm Dave" and I am happy and proud of that, and I say it with a smile.  This is because I know that my life has some kind of purpose, that there is a reason that I am here and living the life that I have.  I may not know what that is right now, or I may never fully know, but I trust in it.

You need to trust that you life has a purpose, a reason.  Even if you don't know what it is, or put a convenient label on it and say, "This is my reason for being."  It is there none the less and you need to trust in this and accept it.

You will one day find your path.

You know Nay if you keep this up James won't be able to type anymore.  He's ego will be in the way. [:o)]

I prefer to have my brain dry cleaned.  The only problem is I didn't get it back last time and I can't remember where I took it.  Oh well, it's only been a couple of years so I'm not worried about it.

quote:
The way I've had it explained to me is for all the spirit beings that many and various people on earth have been in contact with, who's to say they are all human based spirits. There are more races in the higher dimensions than you can poke a stick at. It seems to me rather arrogant to think that all guiding spirits must have originated on earth.

I agree with that.  It's much like saying that we are the only life in the universe.  The universe is currently just too big for us to know for sure.  I would think that the astral functions the same.  IE. It's too big and too many people have access to it as is considersed to be infinatly large as is the universe.

Okay sorry, I should have looked around.  I was recalling that from memory and it was the last thing I had heard on the topic in the news.  Which was a while ago.  I also take very little information gleaned from the internet as being true.  It's just not a reliable source of information anymore in my opinion.  But the guy admitting he knew it was fake just kinda did the topic in for me.

Even though I consider myself to be a person with out religion one of the things that really chaps my butt about a lot of the objects or sites found is often the information lock down that ensues after thier finding.  Many religions, people, and contries will not allow close inspect of these things.  And many of these things fall out of the public eye as a result to become locked away and forgotten.

I personally would like to see the numerous volumes of text that the Vatican has locked away.  I also would like to see the Ark site re-opened.  But the Ark site is a case of a non-christian country locking down something that would go against thier faith if it is turns out to be authentic.

One of the things I don't get is why so many religions are constantly on the look out for things like this, even if they were to prove thier own religion true, just to keep them away from the public.  I am interested in the sheer historic value of many of these things.  But unfortunately thier potential religious value or non-value prevents this from ever happening.

There is one thing that people keep bringing up that I think is getting over looked.  The "Guardian" idea.

Personally I believe that there is no way that he, being a physically real person, can be your own personal guardian like some are thinking.  It is more like he is "A Guardian" not "Your specific guardian".  The freakiness of the situation is comming from people assigning the metaphysical guardian qualities to a physical person.  It just doesn't seem to work that way in my eyes.

Okay so he's "A Guardian"...The question should be a guardian of what?  The buisness card would suggest that he gave himself this title or believes himself to be one of some kind.  The question is weather or not he has a guardian mentallity.  This being that ultimately the next step is yours and that he will not pursue the issue any further than you wish to.

If that is the case I would equate him to being much like a sign post that you are looking at the back of.  You "could" go around and see what the sign says or you could continue about your day....In the end sign post doesn't really care if you read it or not.  But the information is there should you want it.

Hey is this the same LeftHandBlack I have seen running around the Relic forums?

You know I have had to stop myself from doing that to people at times.  It may sound odd but with certain people I just get a lot of information from very few words.  I don't get anything like names or exact dream images but I learn a bunch of other things.  It's part of being empathic.  The strong ones come from people who are depressed over a situation or person.  But I don't approach strangers with that kind of stuff its just not me.  And I personally think that they could do with out the shock.  It's a little freaky if you know what I mean.

My personal urge would be to call him.  But from some place "safe" as mentioned above.  Like from a pay phone.  Should you set up something like a meeting then I would definatly take a friend or two.  Some one you can trust and who is aware of your situation, that way it's not too awkward.

The fact that some one else saw him was a good thing.  That way at least you know he is real and not one of those super bizare movie guys who just pops up out of no where and then dissapears just the same.

You know I don't get the whole brainwash mentallity anyhow.  Just because a person is participating in something that someone doesn't like is not cause for saying they are brainwashed.  I myself am still having a hard time believing in the whole alien's helping man evolve thing, but I continue to participate in the threads because of some of the concepts alone that have come out of them.  And thinking about the concepts by themselves and not where they are said to be coming from I think is more important.  If nothing else it provides intellectual and spiritual food for thought.  Even if you don't believe there are aliens.

And Nay, a word of advise about all the sucking up.  Try not to get you head stuck.[:O]

If none of the already mentioned seems to work you could also try checking the battery on your motherboard.  That stupid little battery supplies the power for the cmos memory and start up.

And no I did ask myself how you posted.  Every computer freak has a back up plan for when thier computer fails and need to get something done.  Hell I know of at least 4 places I could go for comp access.

That box turned out to be a something totally different.  When they were finally able to actually exainmin the thing the box itself dated a little before the correct time and the writing was added onto the box a few hundred years later.

The man who originally purchased the box later admitted to knowing the box's true origins.  Information he had gotten from the man who sold it to him.

So why does it work that way?  Any thoughts?
