I think there is too much emphasis on sleep paralysis.   It is over rated.  You do not have to get sp to ap.   It will not reduce your chances to ap if you do not get sp.

I am only guessing as to why it is happening.    You say you have been punched in the face for years.  Perhaps you play violent computer games or watch violent TV shows.   I know the games are harmless and they are fun.   The violent activities can stay at the back of the mind and can occur in the astral.

The body does not need four hours rest to ap.   You can still ap with only little rest.   It is easier to ap when you have had some sleep.   I laughed when I read you woke up your wife and she thought you were crazy.

That is great astralee that it worked.   I think it is good to get up and try again.   I think the mind is very powerful.   If you believe that you are uncomfortable you will be.   If you talk yourself into feeling comfortable you will be.   It is the same with ap and a lot of other things.   If you think you cannot ap, ap becomes a lot harder to do.    This is changing the subject a bit, I find it hard to understand how people can ap when they are tired.   Last night I was very tired.   After Christmas dinner I drove my parents home.   By the time I got home I was exhausted.   I cannot ap when I am tired.  Admittedly I do not try.   I just go to sleep.   I do not know how anyone can ap when they are tired.

Merry Christmas everyone.   I hope everyone succeeds with their astral journeys.   I got an air conditioner for my Christmas present.   I am very happy about that.   It has been very hot here so I have not ap for a while.    I have no excuses why I am not able to ap now that I have an air conditioner.   This morning the weather was a lot cooler so I made an effort to ap.   I find my concentration has to be very good otherwise I fall asleep.    I was not able to relax that well.   I do not have to worry about my body relaxing.   It was my breathing.   It was not gentle soft breathing.   I do not know if that makes any sense.   After a while my breathing relaxed and I noticed my mind and body feeling different.   I spiritually got out of my body.   I stayed close to my body which was a mistake.   I was not able to see.    I was saying, I can see and then I got zapped back into myself.    I am not worried about it.   I think we will keep improving with experience.   The more experience we get, the better we will get.

You say you get vibrations before you go to bed.   That sounds good to me.   All you have to do is work out how to get out of your body.   That is the next step.   You already did the first stage.   Keep experimenting and see what works for you.  Try different things.    That is what I did.  I kept at it until I got it.   We do not always get vibrations to ap.

Next time when you are out of your body, try saying awareness now.   By saying awareness now it should fix your groggy problem.   You should feel more alert.   If you are not able to get out of your room, imagine a big hole and you can go through it to another place.   That is what I do when things do not work out well.

I am glad it is working for you.    It sounds exciting.    I would love to be able to try one and see what it is like.  I know I am not able to do that. I am happy for you.

 Szaxx said it well.   You do not need to get sp to ap.   You can ap other ways.   Let what happens happen.    I would not sleep deprive as it is not necessary.    You can still ap without going to that extreme.

That is a great idea Lionheart.   I will start using ear plugs.   The blindfold is good to use if you have that problem.

Lying there for three hours is far too long.  No wonder you did not ap.   You were probably getting frustrated.   I would not lie there any more than one hour.   One hour is long enough.    Take a break and try again.    If ap does not happen you need to try and make it happen.  Do an ap technique.  I would not wait a long time to do an ap technique.   Forget about the vibrations as vibrations do not always happen.   You can still ap without getting any vibrations.

I just realised my back does not hurt.   It just feels uncomfortable.   It happened all the time when I would lie down in bed.    Now it is starting to change.   I talk myself into relaxing and it feels comfortable.   That works but when I try again for the second time my back starts to feel uncomfortable.   I now realise I will have to talk myself into relaxing.  I will take a break from it and start again.

One more thing, do not think of scary things.   Our thoughts attract things to happen.   If you think good thoughts, it will attract good things.   Try and forget about the entities.   Pretend they do not exist.   I have never had a bad experience.    My experiences have always been good.   If you do that, you should not have a problem.

It does not matter if I ap at night time or daytime.   When I am in the dark, I say, I can see.   The dark changes into daylight.    When I am in the dark I am not afraid.   I just realised that it is rather strange.    I am not afraid spiritually being in the dark but physically I am.   I have overcome that problem a lot.

It sounds like you are doing well.   Just keep practicing.   Let things happen naturally.   If you force it, it will unlikely work.   Do a technique that you like doing.    It does not have to be climbing a ladder.   It could be playing tennis, hitting a ball or a million billion other things.

Nothing can hurt you.   People have nightmares and bad dreams and nothing hurts them.   The only way to overcome it is to face it.   The more you face it, the easier it gets.   I have never been afraid of ap in all the years I have ap.   Just recently I was afraid as something unexpected happened.  Nothing bad happened to me.   It made me more prepared so next time if anything unexpected happens I will not be afraid.    I can understand how you feel.    I am not afraid of ap but I am afraid of being in the dark alone.   I know it is ridiculous.   I have been like this all my life.   Last few years I have had to overcome it to a large extent.   I go into the backroom in the dark.    At first I was very tense.   It is a lot easier now but I still do not like the dark.   I put a sheet over me because I feel protected.    I do not like going up the hallway in the dark.  I have to have the light on.   Just persevere with it.    Eventually it will be easy for you and you will have no fear.

It does not work like that with me.   I find the best time to try to ap is when I am not tired.   I like to have plenty of sleep.   I have ap lots of times when I have had a lot of sleep.

Try not to worry about falling asleep.   I think that happens to everyone.   Next time you may not fall asleep.   There is no wrong or right way.   Everyone is different so my way may not work for you.   Stay calm, relaxed, be patient and be determined to succeed.  If you are determined to succeed you are half way there.   Do not put a strain on yourself as that will not work.   If you do not succeed there is always tomorrow.   You could do an ap technique or you could meditate.    If you meditate that can lead to ap.   You may see things when your eyes are closed.   That can lead to ap as well.

I have been thinking about this and I realise this is a good sign.   Next time my body feels lighter I know I will ap any moment.  I will be ready for it.   When my back starts to feel sore I will get up and have a break from it for a while.   I will see how that goes.   I do know that the power of the mind can help a lot.  I will be glad when I get an air conditioner in the back room.    I will have more encouragement to ap.    My husband often snores and is distracting.

Hi all, last night I practiced to ap.   I was lying on my back and I persevered with it.   Normally I give up.   The mind is very powerful.  I talked myself into wanting to ap.   I normally want to go to sleep and my body feels uncomfortable.  It could be because I do not want to make the effort.   I want to make an effort but a part of me does not.   I keep fighting with myself.  I do not know if that makes any sense.   I said to myself my body feels comfortable and I am getting more and more relaxed.   It was working.  I felt my body feeling lighter.   Unfortunately I fell asleep.   I was not disappointed.    When I woke up I knew I was dreaming.   Normally I do not remember anything.   I wanted to try again to ap.   The more you try, the more likely you will succeed.    I started to lie on my back but my back started to feel sore.   There is nothing wrong with my back.   It was because I was lying in the one position for too long.   What do you suggest I do?  Thanks,

If you asked my husband he would say it is all in your mind.   It is only a dream.   It does not exist.    Other people would say the same.   I think I really go out of my body.   I feel it when I come out of my body.   It is like I am physically out of my body but I am spiritually out of my body.     Do not believe me.    As Xanth said find out for yourself what you think.    Years ago I went on an ap and energy course.    The teachers said, do not believe us.    Find out for yourself.

I do not have any problems with exiting.   I learnt from my mistakes.   That is what I suggest you do.   Find out what works and what does not work.   I never do any energy work to ap.   I think it is unnecessary.   There are people that think it is a good idea.   You will have to do what suits you best.   We are all different and think differently.   You sound like what you are doing is great.   Try to do an exit technique.   Sometimes we can ap but think we are not able to.   All that is required is to do a technique.   It does not always work.  People say one hour is enough.   If you have not ap by then stop.    In my opinion one hour is not long.   I would not lie there for more than an hour.   Take a break, sleep for a while or whatever.   Then try again.   Do not over do it as you do not want to exhaust yourself.   If I only practiced for one hour I would probably be in the same position as you.  The more chances you try the more likely you will ap.   The easiest time to ap is to practice early in the morning.   Your mind and body is already relaxed.  Sometimes we do everything right and we do not ap.   When we do not succeed it is important to believe we can still ap otherwise ap will become harder.     When I listen to a relaxing CD it puts my mind into a relaxed state.   When the CD has finished I ap.

I realise my main problem why I am not making an effort is because I am too hot.   It is very hot here.   I will look for an air conditioner.

You don't have to shut your thoughts out, you only have to lose your physical focus.

Try this, focus on your brain. You don't need to see it visually. Just focus on that area. Turn inside and you will see your trance state deepen.

Thank you Lionheart.   Last night I made more of an effort to ap.   I am wanting to make a lot more of an effort.   The more I try to ap, the better.   I will think of you so that will encourage me to make more of an effort.
