You have a great advantage not being tired.   Use it to ap.   I love it when I am not tired.   You will ap but you have to put your mind to it and be patient.   It helps to believe you can ap even if you are not tired.   It is a lot easier to ap when you are not tired.

Xanth is correct.   Jones believes it to be true.   It is his belief.   You have your beliefs.   Everyone is entitled to their beliefs.   With ap everyone has different opinions.   It cannot be proven so no one can be wrong.   I have said this before, authors of ap books are beginners just like us.    They are good at writing a book.   Years ago I bought an ap CD from Jones.   I did not like everything he said in the CD.   Overall I thought it was very good.   When I read ap books I do not agree with everything they say.   I pick the things that make sense and the things that can help me.   I ignore the rest.   If I do not agree with anything in the book, it goes in the bin.

Hi all, I think I am achieving ap.   I did not go to bed as I want to go to sleep.   I always stop trying to ap when I am in bed.   I went into another room.  I laid down on a very thin mattress.  It is not comfortable.  If it is too comfortable it is too easy to fall asleep.  I was lying on my back for a little while.  I decided to lie on my side as it is more comfortable.  I knew I had to concentrate otherwise I will likely fall asleep.   My body was feeling different.   I got a bit afraid which is silly.  I should not have got afraid.  I have had lots of experiences and I hardly ever get afraid.   I was kicking my legs up and down as I was afraid.  I thought I have had enough of this.  I am going back to bed.   I did not realise that I was spiritually out of my body.   I thought I was physically out of my body.   I went back into my body.   If someone wants to do what I am doing, I would suggest it is a good idea to mediate before you practice ap for a while.  When meditating it seems to not make me tired or as tired.  I realise what works for me, may not work for you.  Just trying to help.   I feel really good.  I think I will be able to do it again.

I think it could help you ap but what is the point in doing it.   When I ap I want to have good quality ap experiences.   I am not interested in aping a lot and having rubbish experiences.  I would rather have less ap experiences that are really worthwhile.   I want to be aware and have a really good time.   I want to be in control.   If you take substances it would likely make your mind muddled.  You would more likely to imagine things that are not real and end up in a dream.

There are some realizations that people need to make...

A lot of Projection-talk revolves around the term "Out of body".
There is no such thing as "out of body"... there simply is no body.  Ever.  There is only consciousness.
I have an astral body.  I do not like that term.  I prefer to say, inner self.  The ap books say we have an astral body.  I know the authors are not always correct particularly when it comes to ap.  When I am going out of my body, I feel my feet touching the ground.  I have looked in the mirror and I have seen myself as I am physically.  I have looked down on myself to see what I am wearing etc etc.  What you are saying can be true as well.  If you think you have no body, then you will not have one.  I think it depends on what we think.

It is a lot easier to ap when you have had some sleep.  Practice meditating and keep practicing as often as you can.   Sometimes I do an ap technique.

Thanks for that  Szaxx.  Your information has helped me.   I realise that when I step out of my body, it is a lot easier to have intent to go somewhere or see someone than being already in the astral and trying to see someone.  I thought about this today.  It was about a few weeks ago.  I stepped out of my body and I said I am flying and I am with a certain person.  I was high up in the sky with my friend but I was too focused on looking at the scenery to talk much to my friend.  I did ask her a question and I got an answer.   I suppose it should not make any difference.  I should be able to travel or see someone when I am in the astral.  I used to be able to do it.  I think it is because I have a doubt and perhaps that is why I am finding it hard.  I say to myself I can see anyone I want and to go anywhere I want to, to get confidence.   I will let you know how it goes.

Hi all, How do I see a friend before I ap?   Do I say I am with that person now?   I keep saying the name of the person until I ap or do I think about the person?   I am not able to visualise very well so I may not see the correct person.  Perhaps it does not matter because my inner self will know who the person is.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.   I thought if I can go wherever I want to go to that would be better ending up all over the place and trying to reach my destination.

I thought all I have to do is notice how my mind is feeling.  When it starts to feel relaxed then I know I can ap.  I was wrong.  I noticed my mind was not relaxed.  I decided to imagine that I was walking.  I was amazed when I realised that I was out of my body.  I did not expect it to happen.

You were very close to ap.  There are times when we can have weird ap sensations and it can put you off.  It can be hard to stay relaxed.
#461
That sounds great advice Astralzombie.  It should help me as well.
#462
I would say the same as  Szaxx.  It is normal and there is nothing to worry about.  It is a sign that you are close to ap.
#463
We could guess and it still may not work.   It would be better if you described exactly what you do step by step including any thoughts and how you feel.  By doing that we may be able to see what you are doing wrong.

This morning I was practicing to ap.  I did not ap but I am not disappointed.  I instantly went into the astral.  I realised it and I went back into my body again.  It happened about two or three times.  With practice I think I will get better and I will realise that I am out of my body.  I will let you know how it goes.

I do not know about that.  Perhaps you are right.  I do not feel like trying.   I feel groggy and very tired.  I just want to sleep.  I could wake myself up a bit.  It probably sounds strange but I like to feel the opposite.  I usually get up early in the morning about 3.00 am.  I do not feel tired and I go out into the back room.  I mostly ap.

Yes, visualisation/motion can be an an exit method.  I do it sometimes.

A lot of times I do not seem to feel tired.  I relax and I meditate a lot.  I get up early to go to work and I do not feel tired.   There are times when I wake up in the middle of the night and I feel really tired.  I just want to sleep so I do.

That was a wonderful birthday present you got.  You must have felt really good to ap the night before your birthday.  Are you going to keep trying to ap?    Szaxx gave you good advice.
#469
The reason why you get stuck is because you think you cannot do it or you have lost confidence.  It happens to me when I think I cannot do it.

Thanks for that Szaxx.   That was interesting.  This morning I did ap.  I was imagining things and I was out of my body.  When it did not work I was back to breathing in and out.  I have to accept that I am not always going to ap.  Something may happen and I will not ap or I might fall asleep.  I had to concentrate so I would not fall asleep.  It is easy to do.  Aping is not my goal.  My goal is to have experiences that are real.   I have had a lot of great experiences.  This morning was more like a dream.  That was a bit disappointing.  I have learnt to accept it and not to worry about it.

You could ask a family member or a friend if they are interested in this idea.    That might be easier than trying to get people on this forum.    People live in different parts of the world and can be in different time zones.  I think it is a great idea.  I wish I knew someone that was interested in doing it.

Wow, 50 years is a long time.  Have you been able to get answers as to what happens in the afterlife?   Are we hear to learn and get on with people?   Have you met amazing people?  When you do ap, are you alert and can think clearly?   Do you ap every night?  Have you reached your goals and if so what are they?   Are you able to travel where you want to go to?  Are you able to see a person who you want to see?
I have ap on and off for approximately seven years now.   I wished I had started a long time ago.

What you said Lionheart was wise.    Thank you for the suggestion Szaxx.  For my anchor I am going to say to myself everyday, when I see a horse with wings I will know I am out of my body.
Szaxx how long have you been into ap?  If you have been doing it for a very long time you must be very good at it.
#474
You are right Lionheart, it would be a lot easier if I learned to lucid dream.  I should make the effort.  When I go to bed I just want to sleep and I do not put the effort into it.   If I do make the effort I try to ap instead.  This morning when I was dreaming I thought it was real.  I did not think I was dreaming.  I think what I am doing is helping to get better astral experiences.  Everyday I say to myself, I can see, I am aware and I can think very well.  This morning I thought I was on the computer and I could see things.  I could also see things in colour.  I realise that when I do ap I think I am aware but when I wake up I realise that I was not able to think that well.  A few days ago, a little girl was wanting to talk to me and I pushed her away.  I would not do that it real life so I realise that my awareness and thinking ability has to improve.   If we are not able to think that well, then it can be easy to see or hear things that are not real.
That is a great idea Szaxx.  I will think of an anchor.   If I see an anchor then I will know I am out of my body.  I know it will take time for me to see an anchor.  I will keep at it everyday.  I am not sure what anchor to use.  I will think of something.

Hi all, I notice when my mind feels very relaxed I am about to ap.  It works well.  I ap instantly.  Lately it has changed a bit.  I now notice that my mind feels relaxed but not extremely relaxed and I instantly ap.  The problem is I am not prepared for it so I end up in a dream.  What do you suggest I should do?  Should I try to notice anything that is different when my eyes are closed to give me a clue that I am about to ap?  If I do that, could it tense up my eyes or mind making ap harder to do?  I could try to do an ap technique but the trouble with that is I am not sure when to do it.  It is a bit of a guess if it will work at that moment.   Perhaps I should do both methods.  Thanks for your replies.
