I forgot to write this in bold.  This is what I wrote in the last post, not Contenteo.
I have to concentrate on my breathing and notice how my body and forehead are feeling.  I do not have to notice my body unless it is an obvious ap vibration.  If I do not get any vibration I have to notice how my forehead is feeling.  Sometimes I do not get an indication from my forehead.  What happens is my inner self moves out of my body.  I can feel it.  I love the feeling.  Sometimes I go very fast.  I think it is fun.  Occasionally I might see landscape or people when I am in my body and my eyes are closed.  When that happens I know I can project.

It is about changing your perspective. A mental visualization is an intangible perspective. Listening to yourself breath is a physical perspective. Focusing on that 'ringing' in your ears is an intangible perspective. Focusing on not being able to feel you foot is a phsyical perspective. Focusing on the vibrations that occur when you focus on your forehead in just the right spot,  I would also count as an intangible perspectives. I think you get the idea.

Only you know what works for you but I'm inclined to think that you have noticed some subtle physical indicators that let you know your really close and then you are able to rapidly shift your attention away from the body. You would get this ability from paying good attention to detail and remembering the physical feelings that are different from failed attempts.

I have been analyzing and trying to work out things of what works and what does not work over the years.

I know that some people like to focus on their breathing the whole time but that has never worked for me. I absolutely must turn my attention away from my body.

Breathing alone often does not work.  For it to work, I have to be relaxed and my breathing relaxed.

Whatever the case, you're a great example in proving that no one size fits all. :-)

Thanks Xanth, I guess what works for one person may not work for another person.  We have to do whatever works for us.  I have to remember my advice to other people, just because it works for me, it may not work for them.

It is normal.  Weird things can happen.  I would advise to keep up your relaxation not to reduce it.  I do not think you can reduce your relaxation.  If you do then you may not get relaxed enough to ap.  You are doing well.  The only thing that is stopping you is fear.  The author of Buhlman ap books, (very good author) says the only way to get rid of fear is to confront it and face it.  You will eventually know there is nothing to worry about and eventually you will have no fear.

Hi all, everyone keeps saying to let go of your physical.  If I let go of my physical I would not ap as often.  It is very important that I notice my physical body.  That is a very good indication that I am about to ap.  In particular I have to notice my forehead.  I breathe in and out and if my forehead starts to feel relaxed then I know I can ap.   I just wanted to let you know.

I do not know what are the reason why you do not ap.  There are a few things you need to do to ap.  Meditation can help a lot to ap.  It is a good idea to practice meditating.  You need to be relaxed both your mind and body.  You can relax yourself or you can listen to a CD that will help you to relax. 

You need to concentrate.  This morning I did not concentrate and I fell asleep.  When I concentrate I usually succeed.

If you are starting to feel uncomfortable after lying down for a while, you need to have a break or change positions and get comfortable again.  I realise after a while I start to feel uncomfortable after lying down for a while.  Then I turn over and go to sleep.

When you feel you are very relaxed do an ap technique.

Just a tip, do not try too hard.  If you try too hard it can put pressure on you making ap harder.  I have the attitude now, if If I ap I ap and if I do not then I do not ap.  I do not worry about it.  It is not worth getting stressed about it.  Keep saying to yourself I can ap.  If you believe you can ap, ap will be a lot easier.  If you loose confidence ap gets harder.  That is from my experiences.
The author of Buhlman of ap books recommends not to ap in bed as we are conditioned to go to sleep in bed.  If you can ap in bed then that is not a problem.  I find if I am not in bed I am more alert in another room so I ap more often than in bed.

You are in a perfect position to ap when you are in that state.  Just go deeper and relax your body all at once.  You will be so relaxed that you will slip out of your body.  You will either be at some place or you will be next to your body.

I did not think you were being offensive.  I should have worded what I said better.  I feel a bit frustrated because every time I talk about just get out of your body, most people ignore it or think it is a terrible idea.  Of course, I could be wrong.  You are right I should not have said it is not that difficult.  It can be difficult at first.

If you find it hard to separate then try and spiritually get out of yourself.  It is not difficult.

When you spiritually get out of your body, you have projected.  People do not seem to like doing that.  I think they think it is too hard.  It was hard at first but after a while it gets easy.  If you can do it, it is a great skill to have.  If you decide to try and do that, do it quickly.  If you do it slowly you may get stuck and not get out.  You can get out that way but it can be harder to do.

When you become part of the scene you have projected to that place.
When you are imagining something, if it works, you projected at that place or swinging on a swing.  The other morning I was imagining I was swinging on a swing and I could feel the movement of me swing going up and down.  I could feel my legs touching the ground.  It was amazing.  I knew I was at a place so I got off the swing.

I realise that I cannot think about it or ask questions otherwise it ends.  There are two ways that has worked for me.
1) spiritually get out of your body as soon as you see the images. 
2) It is hard to explain.  You can notice it and be a part of it.  When you become a part of it you are there at that place, spiritually of course.
You could try to imagine that you are at a place or you could imagine that you are swinging on a swing or any other technique and see if that will work.

That happens to me lots of times.  If I start thinking about it, the images ends.   When that happens I get out of my body.  Sometimes I am not prepared for it and it ends.

I have seen myself in the mirror in the astral.  I have two eyes, face, head etc, just like my physical self.  It looks the same as my physical self.  I do not see any difference except the clothes that I wear in the astral.

One more thing to say.  When I am in the astral and I am looking in the mirror, I see how I would see myself physically.  The only thing that is different is my clothes that I am wearing.

Yes, the sensations are good because you know you are close to ap.  Do not rely too much on the sensations as we do not always get sensations or the sensations are very slight.  You are very close to ap but you have to work out how to separate.  Just keep practicing and believing you can do it.  Eventually it will happen.  Practice makes perfect.  You will find your way that works best for you.  That is what I did.  I learnt from my mistakes.  I kept practicing until I go it right.

Perhaps I am wrong.  My answer is different to everyone else.  I always thought we do have astral eyes.  When I am in the astral I feel my face and it feels just like my physical face.  It is extremely real the way it feels.

What works best for me is meditation.  I learnt recently that I can meditate for hours without any results.  For it to work I have to have my mind to relax.  Listening to beats or music helps me a lot.  I listen to it for a while then I stop listening to it.

I can ap early in the morning but I want to ap when I go to bed.  I try to ap and I do not succeed.  I realise why I do not succeed and that is because I am not relaxed enough.  I am now listening to relaxing CDs when I go to bed.  Then I stop listening to it.  It is starting to work but it is only early days and I have to test it out more.  I am sure it will work.  My body and mind will get used to relaxing.  My situation may not help you.  I realise you are talking about something different.  When you are out of your body and it is blurry, keep saying I can see well.  Look at the scenery and notice things.  If you do that it is like you are physically looking at things instead of spiritually.  You have to keep noticing things otherwise you can end up in a dream or go back into your body.  That happens to me.  One more thing, practice makes perfect.

You are not doing anything wrong.  I do not really know why it happens.  Perhaps it is happening because it is becoming a habit.  You subconsciously think it is going to happen so it happens.  I get the hiccups a lot when I drink a hot drink.  It does not happen much now.  Occasionally it happens.

You do not need beats or music to ap but it can help a lot.  Sometimes I do not listen to anything and I do not ap.  When I listen to the music I usually ap.  If you listen to the music everyday for weeks or months, you should not need to listen to the music.  I think your mind and body will get used to relaxing by itself.

Occasionally I see things when I am meditating.  When I see things I get out of my body.

What you say is very true.  When I make the effort to ap in the mornings I usually can.  When I make the effort to ap at other times, I mess it up.  When I hear sounds or start to see things, I go back to my breathing and that is where I go wrong.  If I can get passed that, that would be really good.  It is hard to get passed it.

You are doing a great job getting rid of the spam.  I do not read the spam.  I ignore it so they are wasting their time.  If everyone ignores it, they might get tired of it so the spam may stop.

It is how you think determines if you are successful or not.  I remember I was flying and I thought my arms feel heavy.  It felt very heavy.  It was hard work.  Another time I was wanting to go to some place and I thought I can hardly see.  I could not see much.  It was awful.  There are times when you think you do not have any of those thoughts but things can still happen.  There may be a doubt at the back of the mind that you are not aware of.
