I am going to start looking for people who are will to contribute things based on thier individual areas.  I think for the most part I will keep my role to more of an editor than a writer.  I am not saying that I won't write its just I would choose my topics carefully.  As I would with anyone else really.  I know there are certain things I just have no experience with and hence won't bother people with my thoughts on it.

The search begins.

I could use some help with planing a little.  If any one is interested or just has suggestions please let me know.  Things like topics you would like to see and such.  PM, email, or leave here.

f course I think I will set up a web page for recruitement purposes.

There seems to be 3 main kinds of posts that seem to do really well.

The first being ones like this were we as a whole are trying to reach some kind on conclusion about things in general.  They often allow for well thought responces which allow for people to express thier opinions with little worry about arguments.

Then there are the plain silly ones or ones started for the sake of arguing a point.  Many like these posts because it becomes more of an expression of self than opinion.  Often they force you to look at what you really believe and why.

The last one that seems to do really well are the ones that either highly informative or experience related.  These ones allow us to share our experiences and thoughts on them.  These for the most part turn out to be highly informative because each experience is different from person to person.  The ones that seem to do better in this catagory are the ones that aloow for more discussion than story telling.

That's what I think any way.  As for my personal preferance I like to the ones that fall into catagory two listed above.  The ones that force you to defend your beliefs.  I have changed some of my beliefs because I could not defend the "why I believed it" part.

Timeless,

I know for me I am, more often than not, a man of few words.  I think this is because that for the most part I want to ensure that what I say is not taken the wrong way.   There is also the case of impact and effect.  I see no need to talk certain people if I know that what I say will not be heard.  I also do my best not to talk about things that I know nothing about, unless of course I am trying to learn more.  But I will admit when I am wrong if some one is kind enough to point it out and why.
The best piece of advise I ever got and can ever offer any one else is this.  "The less you open your mouth, the less likely your foot will get stuck in it."

quote:
Why do you think we give other people's words so much power over us?

I do not think that it is so much that we give them power over us, it is just the impact that words have, more so in this format.  When communicating in this way all we have is words.  There is no body language, voice tone, or facial expressions.  The words a person uses here decide how we view that person.  A few chosen words decide for us if you are an 8 year old child who just found daddy's computer or if your actually a person who may know what they are talking about.  A few chosen words tell us if you are honest or deceitful, calm, angery, sad, crazy, suicidal, homicidal, ect. ect.
In this format we have no other basis for our opinions than words.  This makes the choice of words extreamly critical.  It also makes it even more difficult for us, the readers, to make an accurate theory on just who the auther is.  Unfourtunately it often only takes one bad post to permantly scare a persons reputation, because as is the way of the world, no matter how much good you do you need but fall once and every one else will turn on you.

quote:
I guess what I was trying to get at is the Why. Why do people insult each others ideas? Why do we tie ourselves personally to ideas? Why can't we just pick up an idea look at it and then when a better one comes along let go of the old one?

Change.  As a whole people fight change.  It is often that people can not see the good that can from some changes until after the fact.  And until it becomes so it is resisted with every fiber of our being.  It is only when the idea or situation has become so extream is change welcomed.  But even then it is often done witha disgruntled attitude.

Enderwiggin,

quote:
Eventually, if you know the person long enough, you may learn what their core, fundamental beliefs are. But maybe not all of them. If someone knew literally everything about you, wouldn't you feel threatened?

No I wouldn't feel threatened.  I would feel relieved.  There would no longer be a need to hide what you think for fear of how that person may feel about it.  Because if they knew every thing about you and they were still around the there would be no need to worry because they would already be okay with who you really are.

You know its the bashing that is starting to show up that bothers me.  I am all for freedom of speech and all but there are more tactfull ways of going about things.  For the most part I am just starting to ignore posts from certain individuals.  I kinda figure, "Why waste the time?"

I know for the most part with the new people they just don't want to spend the time looking for thier answers.  I don't really like doing it myself, but I file that into the necessary evil catagory.

Ofcourse I must admite falt to a silly post every now and then.  But I have my reasons for posting them.

"Sigh.. if only i was wiser then."

That is exactly why some of us would not mind sleep paralysis too much now.  I am one who would welcome it.  Because we know what we know now we see it as a perfect point for meditation and projection.  It is far easier to meditate in this state because the body is in such a deep level of relaxation with the mind almost if not fully awake.  I have only been in this state once that I can remember and because of the way I ended up there I was unable to fully use the time I had.  But in this state you have virtually no feeling in the body at all, it simply doesn't respond to commands, so in this state it would be easy to forget that its there and focus on other things.

Okay I must say this only because I found it really funny.

So I was reading the article and all.  I got down to the "Right Now" section and started scratching my chin and then read, "..giving you a status report on a cut you have on your leg, or telling you to"scratch that itch"."

It was funny because as soon as I read it I realized what I was doing and stopped.  I kinda took a moment to look and laugh at myslef.

I've got a dent/scare in the middle of my forehead.  I also have what used to be a small hole on my chest about 2 inches down from the soft spot of the neck.

I am an empath and have had moments of what I beleive was clarivoyance.

I would highly reccomend Bruce Lee's book as well.  Although the currently produced one is a cut down version it still has tons of great phillosophies in it.

"Be like the nature of water."

Panabelle,
"Nah, we're not in danger of being eaten. The green sprinkles (grass) taste really nasty. Trust me from first hand experience. And who wants to eat a donut that's three-fourths covered with water?!"

It depends on wether or not the five sec. rule applies here.

So many to choose from......You are mostly going to want some thing that re-active and not pro-active.

Thinking......

Kenpo is good.  More of a street fighting style.  Also commonly referred to as karate.  Most karate schools use kenpo as the base style.

Then there is...I forget the name but the style Steven Segual uses....Despite most of what is seen it is primarily a flowing style.  Redirection of force with a sudden stopper.

Given the nature of most street fights Ju-Jitsu might be a good place to go also as it is an "in fighting" style.  It is also good because it involves a lot of grappling and take downs.  Good because almost all extended street fights end up on the ground.

Of course if you want a "leg'em and leave'em" kind, Nin-Jitsu would be good.  A touch more leathal but with lots of room for disgresion.  Lots of quick, crippling strikes.

If nothing else a basic self defense class would do the trick too.

As far as the energy aspects of any martial arts...You get what you put into it.

I noticed this happens a lot when people misc fall asleep.  For me it happens when I am in front of the computer late at night.  I'll pass out and as soon as I figure out that some thing odd is happening I wake up.

But I noted that this kind of thing may help those of us who are having trouble projecting.  The biggest part about it is knowing what it feels like and re-creating the feeling.  Most don't realize what these little journeys are when we misc doze off like that.

I think the biggest key is that often our minds are so pre-occupied at the time this happens.  Most don't mean to fall asleep and thier brain is trying so hard to focus on what your trying to do that if "forgets" about the rest of the body.

You inadvertantly do what is suggest so often here.  Not focusing on the body.

Because it amusses me...

I find it odd that more often than not when a person wants to know how people think and posts a very serious and lengthy topic aimed at trying to find out how people think and act it is often ignored.

But at the same time the silliest of topics get mass amounts of attention.  It is through silly, need to ask why kinds of posts that I/we learn truely about other people.

You can tell a lot about a person because of topics like this.

Oh and at the time I had one that was bothering me which resulted in about 7 or so sneezes in a row.  I felt like complaining.

Oddly even though my normal sences seem a little dull I have been having many dreams over the past few days.  2 or 3 a night which is way way abnormal for me since nothing has changed in my life.
#640
As far as not fitting in with the world around me...humm...I have had this feeling.  But I think it is because I am more in tune with my surroundings than most.  This creates a feeling of being different...out of place.

Then of course there is the every so often that I should have lived this life 500 years ago.  But maybe that is just a past life surfacing.
#641
AME,
It is not so much that "they want you" but that they want to be seen.  They want thier presence known for somew reason or another.  You just need to find out why.  But if there has been no aggression from them then there is very little to worry abiout for now.

Have you tried talking to them yet?  Maybe asking why they are there?
#642
Are you sure it is a feeling of not being in the right place?  Could it be more a feeling of not doing the correct thing?

One of the things that may help you a lot in this would be to find a hobby.  Not one that is just for you but one you can share with other people.  Find something that you really enjoy doing and see if there is a local club or some thing to that effect that you could join.  You will end up finding more people like yourself.

But the best piece of advise I can think of right now would to not let this feeling of being different alienate you from people of your own age group.  You may be different but that does not mean you need to sculk off on your own and be a hermit.  You need to interact with as many people as you can.  Again you will end up finding some one much like yourself.  They say every one has a double some where in the world.

There is a book mentioned in this post that may be of some interest.

I'm very disappointed... seeing the subject of this thread lead me to believe that you can make roommates invisible... I really wish i could do that
----------

You could just try pretending they aren't there.

A couple of reasons why you can see them...

1.  You want to so you can.
2.  They want you too.
3.  You are just one of the lucky ones.  Your mind is open more at that point than at any other, and so all information is there.  Un-filtered.
#646
Well the use of the word energy is very simply used because there is a lack of a better word.   I know there are a few here who have made journeys to and into black holes and they have returned, and are still a mostly normal person.[;)]

It is simply because we don't know what else to call it except by what it feels like to us.  In all honesty, "feeling energy" is often a very mild description of what you feel and sence when doing things of this nature.  Its like trying to describe the feeling of jumping out of an airplain.  Unless you done it your just don't understand the simplicity of most peoples answers.

ss_majin_gohan,

Actually many evolutionist do not agree with the big bang theory at all.  And mostly because of the more and more evidence that is found they are believing the world to be older than originally thought.

Timeless,

True, I may not know you, but you have also not yet given me a reason not to trust you.  I liked your post for the simple reason that your believe in god because...and then filled in the blank.  That is the reason I started this thread, not to so much find out wether or not people believe but why.  The why is the important part.  If you can't answer why you believe some thing then what would be the point?
Yes I am sceintific but I am not a purist in that respect.  If I must coin a phrase, I would call myself a "Spiritual Sceintist".  I accept the fact that certain things just can not be explained except on a personal level.  But I also feel that one day we will be able to collect hard data on spiritual happenings.  But even now, although personal to each person, there are certain themes that are fairly well maintained from person to person.  And as any researcher will tell you even just one re-occuring item is a place to start.
The main reason I don't believe is a simple one.  I have never experienced anything remotely like what some of the people here have explained.  For most it seems like a frying pan hitting them up side the head, and then they know.  I guess I just keep ducking.

I don't dream often.  I know when I don't dream and when I do, it feels different.

When you don't dream you just kinda go to bed and wake up later.  There is a complete and total lack of anything.  It also tends to feel like very little time has passed at all, even though you were asleep for hours, it really only feels like 5 mins.

Timeless,

I see your point.  However things don't work that way here unfortunatly.  Yes we vote our leaders into power, yes we vote on many of the laws that come to our attention, and yes we do have the power to effect a change in our government.  However effecting drastic change in our government is nearly an impossible thing.  Americans in general do not hold the same moral values as many other countries.
I do not know who this works in Canada but often when laws are passed around here, at both the state and federal level, there could be 20 other things that get passed with it because they are piggy backed on.  We the citizens often only get a portion of this information.  Also many of the laws passed do not require a "peoples vote" to go into action.  Oh they are kind enough to get our opinion but little else.
Plus when we do get the chance to make our voices heard it often comes at a cost.  Its like the "money on a sting" gag, and they keep pulling the string until they get what they want out of it.  We play the "how bad do you want it" game.  The American public will often willingly trade thier freedoms away to feel safer.  This is the only country that I know of where some one can break into your house, trip over one of the kids toys, break thier arm, and then sue you for negligence, and win.

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Silly Me

Okay I will try to keep this short and informative.

To be in phase with, is to be a part of, or at the same vibrational state as some thing else.  You are currently in phase, or in sink, with the physical realm.  This is what is allowing you to type.  If you were out of phase, or out of sink, you vibrational state would  be different than that of the physical realm and as such you would find it impossible to to things like typing because your hand would pass through your keyboard.

Now phasing is the act of changing that vibrational state.

My understanding of the astral phasing or phase shift is as follows.  Most people when projecting go through the vibrational state rather quick, although it may seem like you are at that point for a while, it is short in comparison.  Anyway, for most its vibrations and then bam, off like a rocket to a location.  But for a person who phases into the astral the experience is a little slower.  Instead of bolting off like a rocket thier transition is slower and they pass through each level until the desired one is eached.  This can also be done while projecting to change level one is at.

Does this help?

And for those who have a different idea/experience am I right?
