If you did commit suicide your love ones would suffer.  They would be very upset.  We are here on earth to learn from our mistakes and to keep trying to improve ourselves.  By committing suicide we are not improving ourselves.  We are going backwards.  I do not think anyone really knows what would happen if you commit suicide.  I cannot imagine you would be rewarded for doing it.  My guess is you would probably be reincarnated again.  You may be in a worse position than you are in now.  If you are thinking about suicide, as the others said, get professional help.

That is amazing AstralCody.  I loved reading about it.  You could both spiritually see each other.  That would be very interesting as well.

Lionheart gave you a very good honest answer.  You have two options that you can do.  You can try to ap when you wake up without the timer.  That way you have had plenty of sleep.  The other option is to try to ap at night time.  The only problem with that is you have a higher chance of falling asleep.  Be in a position that is not too comfortable for you.  If you are too comfortable you are more likely to fall asleep.  I would try both options.  I would keep practicing even if you do not succeed.  I have practiced for many months without aping.  Try not to get discouraged and keep trying.  There is another option, you can have a nap during the day then try to ap.
If you think it will be a waste of time and will not work then it probably will not work.  I used to be able to ap a lot in the mornings when I had many hours sleep.  I believed I could do it.  When I put my mind to it and think I can do it, I usually can ap.  It is very important to believe you can ap and you will succeed otherwise it will mostly likely be a waste of time.

Xanth is correct.  If you think it is easier you can imagine something to get out, such as a place or swimming, catching a ball or anything else.  Anything will work when you are in that relaxed state.

When you are totally relaxed, between sleep and awake - with the intention to leave the body, you can spiritually get out of your body.  You can go out, walk out, fly out, or anyway you want to get out.

I know you are not going to agree with me.  The books do not agree with me.  From my experiences I have found ANY TECHNIQUE WILL WORK WHEN YOUR BODY AND MIND IS RELAXED ENOUGH.

I love your comment.

I have a question. I want more than anything ap. It's been months and months that I train. I have an incredible motivation. Many say they have a goal for AP. I think but I do not know why I want AP. Words are not enough.
Advice doctor??

(sorry for translate, I am french and English and me ....it's complicated.)
My advice would be to meditate every day.  You should try to enjoy meditating as that will make it easier to do.  I would try not to focus on ap as ap may not happen.  It may take a long time for it to happen.  When you get used to meditating your body gets more and more used to it and you train your body and mind to relax more easily.  I was doing really well but then I got tired of it so I stopped.  I wish I did not do that.  I want to do what I used to do.  You have to not worry about not aping because as I said it may not happen.  If you can persevere with it, it is worth it.   You cannot get disappointed if it does not work, otherwise you will not want to do it.  I was meditating every day for about an hour for many months every day.  I started doing it again for a few nights now.

Whatever you do, don't attempt to astral project in the evening, when you're about to go to sleep. It wouldn't work. OOBE happens naturally very often after 4 hours of sleep, followed by 1 hour of being awake.
I disagree with this.  I have ap a few times in the evening and I have had no sleep.  I could have ap more if I was more experienced and knew what to do.  Anyone can ap at night time.  If I can do it, then anyone can.  I am not special.  I am just like you.  The only thing I do is I practice.  The key of being successful is to practice, be determined and to be patient.

I tried for a few nights in a row.  I think I am getting there but not there yet.  I will try again tonight.

Well done, keep it up.  There is a saying, you are what you eat.  My family has home cooked meals every night of the week  We occasionally buy meals every few months or so.  When I do buy it, I do not like it much.  Home cooked meals are a lot better.  It is a lot healthier and you feel a lot better.  It is also a lot cheaper when you make it yourself.

The easiest way to leave your body is to practice and see what works for you.  It will help a lot if you believe that you can ap.  You may not ap but you are more likely to succeed if you do believe you can ap.  I have been practicing for about seven years now and I am still learning.  I think we all are.

That's my goal right now.

how exactly do i wake myself up ? do i have to get up or can i just open my eyes and try it again ?
You can just open your eyes and try again.  Everyone is different so do what is best for you.  Some people need to wake up a bit otherwise they will fall asleep.  If I was feeling like that I would get up and go on the computer, watch TV or walk around for a short while until you feel that you are not too sleepy.  If I felt I was not tired I would close my eyes and try again.  The most important thing to do is to concentrate.  I fell asleep this morning.  Today I have been reminding myself to ap and concentrate.  Hopefully it will stay in my mind tomorrow morning and I will succeed.  I usually do succeed when I remind myself.  If you cannot concentrate you will most likely not ap as you could fall asleep.  When you do not ap it can be disappointing and frustrating.  I do not let it worry me now I just keep trying.

it's possible to go into peoples dreams while out of body, you should do that and scare him.
I am not that good at ap when I am out of my body,    I find it hard to go where I want to go to then I think I am very aware but later on I realise I was not that aware.  I did not take note of the scenery or what I was looking at.  That is how it has been lately.  I have to improve those things.  When I get really good at it I might just do what you suggested.

I do not use the beats, I use something similar.  I try not to think of anything.  I listen to the music to get my mind to relax.  It helps me to get into the ap mood so I can ap.

Jerking can happen when you are trying to ap, meditating or trying to sleep.  My husband does not believe in ap.  Occasionally when he is trying to get to sleep, he jerks.  He said it is normal for it to happen.
#641
I would advise you not to aim to get sp or sensations as that it not a requirement to ap.  You may not get it.  I have the same problem as you with falling asleep when trying to ap before you go to sleep.  I think I will relax a bit more and before you know it I fall asleep.  It is the worst time to try to ap when you have not had any sleep.  There is no harm in trying but you have a higher chance of falling asleep.  I would advise to keep practicing.  If you fall asleep think OK I fell asleep and accept it and try again when you wake up.  Keep trying as many times as you can until you succeed even when you fall asleep.  The more chances of trying, the more you are likely to succeed.

Until you realise that this 'shithole' is the most wonderful, amazing and important thing to have... you will not grow spiritually in any way whatsoever.

I agree.

I work 'between time'. At the moment I work on my computer... at other times I work in a workshop/studio. Obviously when I am working on my computer I can flit on here any time. I don't have a fixed sleep schedule. I sometimes work all day through to the night. It depends. I only need about 2 to 3 hours ACTUAL sleep per night.
That is unusual that you only need about two or three hours sleep per night.  Most people need about six or more hours sleep per night.

At first i thought you meant jerking off when attempting to AP  but i get that too my entire body just jumps up into the air, i have no idea why that happens, maybe its because i lose concentration ?
I do not think you loose concentration.  I think it happens to a lot of people.  I think it is normal that it happens.

I think it is great todd that you made this post.  To be honest I have not put a lot of time into it.  When I go to bed I want to sleep.  One time I did make an effort.  I imagined something but the problem was I fell asleep.  I think it is too hard to do if you are tired.  It is still worth trying.  I do not believe in giving up.  If it does not happen it does not happen.  There is no harm done.  There is another way I thought might work but you still have to be very concentrated.  I tried it but I fell asleep.  I have to really concentrate.  The technique is to count, say 1 to 10.  If you are forgetting to count then you know you are falling asleep.  When you realise you are falling asleep you wake yourself up and start again.  I have not been that disciplined to do it yet.  I am hoping I will be in time.  My goal is to ap whenever I want to.  One time my goal was to be able to ap once a night.  I can do that now if I do not mess it up.

Just read this post and all I can say is that although Ive tried in the past I do not have as much time as you all seem to have. I get up at 6.30am every weekday, work till 5pm go home tired as a tired thing. Go to the gym, usually every other day. Then get home about 7pm have something to eat and go to bed at 10pm. Id like to spend sometime with my husband and my friends inbetween all this. Don't know where you all get the time from. Do you all work part time?
I work part time but I often work full time hours.  I do not go to the gym but I do exercises when I get home from work.  I have a lot to do when I get home from work.  We have dinner later now than before.  I think if you want to do this badly enough you will find time to do it.  I wake up early in the morning and I practice to ap.  I have not done it lately as it has been extremely hot here.  I read somewhere that if you are not able to practice during the week, there is the weekend to practice.

I do not think about the animals, people or what they are doing.  I just look at the scene.  I ap there and I become a part of the picture.  If I get impatient I get out of my body.

I find it frustrating when people say that have been trying to ap for years but have not had any success.  You try to help them but you cannot help them as they have made up their mind that they are unable to ap.  It is not meant to be for them.  In future I will not try to help those people as you are not able to.  I do not let it upset me.  It is good when you can help people and people are appreciative of it.  That makes you feel it is worth it.

[quoteThe trouble I have with this method is that I try to focus and I guess I do it a little too hard. And then I lose it completely. But usually I focus on the visual aspect. Maybe I will try to focus more on the other senses this time around; touch, sound, smell.  Maybe this will help suck me in rather then push me away. I really appreciate the help you guys have given me. Thank you!
[/quote]
You do not focus too hard.  You have to observe like the others said.  You have to stay relaxed and notice what you see without thinking about your physical self.  You do not need to focus on smell, touch etc.  That is from my experiences.  You just have to observe and you should become part of the picture.  Lionheart got a good idea.  He said pick up a pencil or whatever it is.  I never tried that.  I usually am already in the picture then I start doing things.
