But then there is always the scene in the resturant.

"Ignorance is bliss."

If you liked Matrix then you should check out The Thirteeth Floor.  Good flick along the same lines.

Another note that I thought of.  One that I use a lot myself, with almost every physical sport and I do not believe that it would be any different when bringing energy usage into the mix.

The silly line follows.

"Think about what you are doing!"

I know it sounds odd because that is exactly what you are doing.  But I mean it in a different way.  As I said before the doing the exercises sowly and concentraiting on them should be very helpfull.  But there is something else that I do a lot and as it turns out is a key part of energy manipulation.  "IMAGINATION"  The magic word.  Oddly this corrilation only just hit so pardon me if it is a little sketchy.

Just as in the begining of the N.E.W. manual where you perform a physical task, like going and getting a glass of water, and recalling it step by step in your mind.  This too could be used as a training tool for using energy while doing certain tasks.  In this manner the actual physical excertion would be fully removed.  I am sure that you tend to run the same paths frequently, anybody who runs a lot tends to.  The next time you are out try and soak up as much of your surroundings as possible for use later.

After doing this a couple of times, after you a fresh and well rested go for a run in your mind.  Do just as it says in the NEW manual, try and recall every thing: each step, the feel, the smells, the view, and thier impact on your sences.  When this can be fully "run" through.  Start doing the energy work on top of it.  You know what it feels like to run, and you know what it feels like to do energy work.  So combine them, but not when you are running, but when you are at rest.

Although I have not tried to do this just yet my self, since it has only been five minutes since i thought of it, I believe that this would be very benifical.  Again, as far as martial arts goes, the simple act of running over techniques in the mind has proven extreamly helpful.  I can honestly say that I believe that doing this has help me in reaction times, methodes, and general coordination.  Because of this I believe that it would help "hurdle" the various obsticles you have been encountering.

Side note:  I would like to appologise for the silly puns.  My mind ran away when I was young and I have been trying to deal with it ever since.

Read, be open, and question every thing.  Also take it one step at a time and you also must realize that it is not just snap your fingers and it happens.

And also try to make your questions more specific based on your experiences.  You said that you don't know any thing about "this astral stuff".  Does that mean you have never had an experience that you could not fully explain?  If you have had some thing happen that you can not explain then try starting there.  Quesiton that one experience, see if there are any books on the subject, as questions here about it, and see if there are any people here who have had similar things happen.

It would also help to explain what your 1st goal is, and describe any problems that you have had getting there.

Other than that, welcome.

It could very well be possible that it is not exactly your IQ that allows for the OBE precess but gives you a better chance at success.  This being that a person with a higher IQ than the norm, and who is actively persueing the OBE process, is easier taught.  They can get a better understanding of the task at hand and thus try more situations to suit thier specific needs.

This being more the case of using ones intelligence to counter a possible lack of natural ability.

It also could be argued that a person of lower intelligence would have an easier time because they are not hindered by being exsessivly analitical.  That they more easily accept what has happened and do not seek explinations for it and as such are more familiar with it.

And then where does one look if they don't know what they are looking for?

Frozen Heroics,

"That's actually a pretty interesting theory in itself. Everybody's capable of raising their internal body temp. to some degree, and sometimes, just sometimes, a malfunction in the brain occurs when attempting to control a specific chemical movement in the body. Though I'm not sure that with hundreds of thousands of centuries of evolutional fine tuning that the human body could make such a drastic mistake as to kick itself up to incredible tempatures when trying to heat itself up a couple degrees. "
---

I believe that it is very possible that the body can make those kinds of mistakes.  And the fine tuning of the human machine has even more to do with it, IMO.  The rate of genetic birth defects continues to climb, and I see this as no different.  It could very well be that we are begining to see this more because the haman race is still evolving and in different directions than before.  Survival of the fittest is no longer the driving force behind evolution and the human evultionary path is begining to branch out in directions that were before not aligned with the survival of the fittest plan.

Because of this more and more abnormalities are being see now more than ever.  As the path of evolution takes in to areas where more and more combinations are being tried it is logical to assume that there would be more mishaps and defects.

I do this a lot, or rather I used to.  I actually have done this as a tool for meditation.  That being I found that by pressing on the tear ducts in the corners of the eyes a flurry of color shows up like you said but I then use it to form a tunnel like passage and can maintain that after I remove my hand.  I do this mostly when I want to go into a deep meditation rather quickly.

All though I have been interested if there is any other usage of that particular nerve cluster.  I have tried looking it up in some books on acupuncture but have been unale to find anything.

I would not be afraid of doing it unless what you see is the desturbing part.  Just don't poke your eye out in the process. [B)]

This kind of activity has been covered a lot here.  Mostly with martial arts.

I know with martial arts it is very easy to use, create, and monitor the energy of the body.  I have also found that, at least with martial arts, energy practitioners have found martial arts as a good way to sharpen the uses of thier energy.  And also noted that non-energy practitioners also can recieve some energy benefits from simply practicing martial arts.

I believe that this mostly comes from focus and repition.  Martial arts involves a lot of repition, going through each step slowly and really learning it.  And doing this prosess over and over to build speed and strength.  All the time they are focusing on each movement, hand position, feet, legs, arms, ect.  Constantly thinking about the position of the body.

I believe this same principle can be applied to all sports and physical activities.  As far as running specifically, a few thoughts.  While any fool can run very few actually know how to.  I would suggest first learning the mechanics behind the function.  Learn what things can be done to help run faster or longer.  Learn the little things that can make a person run faster or longer than the next.  Become aware of them, and wether or not you are doing them.  This focusing on what you are doing will help whne adding energy into the mix.

Now while doing this work with your energy.  However I truely believe that you will not get very far when practicing at full stride.  Instead slow down, just do a light jog, or even don't actually go anywhere.  Practice steps and such in front of a mirror, focus on foot position, energy fluctuations.

The reason I think this will help is this.  You are trying to do the energy practises while in a physically stressful situation.  Running.  It is difficult to focus because the mind is focused on running and not running into things.  However the mind can be trained to multi-task a little better.  By doing the energy awareness while "practicing" and not actually running the mind will begin to see this as a normal function while practicing.  Then while walking, jogging, and finally running.

Just because you can run and you can raise energy does not mean that can be done at the same time.  They were orginally learned seperate, now they must be learned together.

The US is not the only place that this happens.  It is just where a majority of the cases have been.  No major reason given for this though.  The infrequency of SHC makes it difficult to understand and study.

I have seen the two major experiments on the subject, the one with the pig and the one with the cadaver.  In both there was one unreproducable event that occures during SHC.  The fact that the bodies in SHC are burned from the inside out, and they do know that for a fact now.  The item that gives away the details from SHC and the experiements were the bones that remained.

In true SHC the bones in the effected area are completely destroyed while bone and tissue in the uneffected areas are largely unmarked.  This has proven to be some what difficult to reproduce.  In the experiements the bones were not totally destroyed and also noted the damamge was over the entire body and not localized to one area.  In both the expirements and true SHC cases the bones reveal a lot about the direction of the "fire".

Have you ever burned the end of a stick?  If so you should have noticed that after, the end of the stick that was burn forms a blunted point.  Bone reacts very much the same way when only burned on one end.  The bone fragments that survived from the expirements were damamged in very much the same way.  However bone fragments surviving a true SHC case are often burned in the other direction.  What I mean is that the end of the bone end form cups and not points or they are flat as if the fire suddenly stopped after destroying the section in front of it.  The cup in the bone shows that the heat was coming from inside the bone and not from the out side.

This does not fully support the idea that SHC starts inside the bone but that in some cases that the heat source at the edges of the effected area reached into the bones core before engulfing it.

Also I have been looking at various psi related activities and on one site I found some information dealing with pyro and cryo-kenesis.  This being the ability to heat and cool obeject respectively.  The individual clamed that during his studies he had accedentally burned himself a good number of times and one such incident put him in the hospital with sever burns to his hands.  The individual made clams that he could maintain his body temp no matter the temperature out side.

Now I know the body can do this normally to some degree.  It is one of the reasons we sweat and shiver when either too hot or too cold.  This leads me to wonder what the temperature was in the areas where SHC has occured.  Was perhaps the room the person was in just a little too cold for thier body?  Was thier body making attempts to raise its core temp when a malfunction occured?  Could certain consious thouhgts trigger this effect?  Simple things like thinking/saying "I wish it was a little warmer."

Just a few things for you to think about....

You know I kinda had that complaint with John Edwards also.  However it is possible it is just the wording he chooses to use.

But you should check out James Von Prag(sp). The show is called Beyond.  He is really accurate about a lot of stuff.  He is kinda scary in that respect.

Just a fanatic that is on the TV.  I think it is the DayStar Network.  I could be wrong.  He is on one of the religous stations we get here in town.  He's on at like 6am.

He has spent the last 3 days talking about how we are all "born of sin" and that the only way we can have "relations with God/Father" as he puts,  it is to accept Jesus as our savior.  One of the hings that really set me off was that he made a very strong comment about how all other religions were wrong and that his faith was the best becase it was the only one with a savior.  Also stating that if you follow any other religion that you will be going to hell in a hand basket because all other religions are wrong and sinfull.

I just got done watching a movie. "Tadpole", it does not talk about religion but it quotes this guy named Voltair alot.  There was one line in it that pretty much sums up my thoughts on religion in general.

"If God didn't exist he would have been made up."
#692
I guess I need to stop watching this Andrew Wommack dude.  He just really gets me going.
#693
I have been finding myself, over the last couple of days, flipping around the few religous stations we have here in town.  Sorry if I ofend, but I would really like to smack a couple of them people, Not the people in the religion itself but just the ones on TV.

As a furture note some of the following my come across as rather un-nice.  But I am just ranting, and venting, and remember in the long run this is just my opinion and I do not knock any one for thier faith.

Sinners.
How many of the God/Jesus religions say that you are a sinner from the get go?
Now me personally I find this offensive.  To say that I am a sinner simply because I am here!  That's just not right!  To me this kind of thinking perpetuates many of the worlds problems.  That being the constant "you need to pay now, for what happened 100's or even 1000's of years ago because it was your ancestors."  It's just like that guy in California who tried to sue for punative damages because his great grandfather was a slave and he managed to track down the info on who own him and where the offspring of that one idiot live now.  To me this thinking and ideaology is backwards and wrong.
Could some one tell me why I sould suffer and/or repent for sins that were not comitted by me?

God's love and the Elect and predestination.

Okay, another topic.  God is sappose to love every one correct?  God's love is sappose to unconditional correct?  So why wouldn't every single person be saved?
From what I gleen from the way God's love works is this.  You do what ever you want during life, you die, you go to heavan.  God looks at you and asks "Why did you do all those things?"  You respond with "Oops."  He then turns and goes, "Oh hell, I can't stay mad at you.  Come on in."  Idealy this is how "unconditional love" works.  There is no sin that could not be forgiven, dare I say it, even when one says that God doesn't exist.  Perhaps the greatest offense against the creator of life would be to say that it never happened.  Even this would be forgiven with "unconditional love".  So in essance with "unconditional love" there would be no sin, just moral obliations.  So every one goes to heaven and there would be no hell.
Now if some are just meant to go to heaven and some are just meant to hell then there really isn't "unconditional love" is there?  It would for the most part be an unbias rule.  You are either in or out, and no matter what you do you can't change in so why worry about it.
But all I really ever hear preached is this.  God loves every one.  Unless your a sinner, then he doesn't love you as much.  And unless you follow his word he won't change his mind and you won't be going to heaven.  This does not sound like "unconditional love", this sounds like "conditional love".  If you sin, and don't repent, if you follow another faith, or your not one of the Elect you're screwed.  How is this "unconditional"?

Again sorry if I offend.  Perhaps if some of the views from other religions could clear this up.

Okay it's 10:30am...Time for bed.

(It is a good thing I am fast or I would have lost this one.  Thank you for the copy function.)

Ginny,

Thank you for the responce.  I use the word room because I had nothing else to call it, as you said.  But from what I can remember, since it has been a while since I have been there, there were never any difinable dimensions.  The only thing was that there was a floor, or rather there was a floor when I felt like walking.
I can not describe it any better than endless and dark, darker than any darkness.  It was almost as if light could not exist there.  But there were at time images, verious thing, but mostly a reacurring image of a wooden door.  The door and frame was there a lot, but the door was always locked, and honestly I never thought to just go around it even though it did not appear to be connected to any thing like a wall.

Since it has been a while since I was there last I am suddenly finding it difficult to return.  Could just be antisipation or that I am trying too hard now.  But I am not worried.  I believe that since I know my destination and how to get there I will soon be back on a familiar road.

I often post different things up not so much for interpitation but for similarities and ideas.  I know in the end  every one must decide for themselves what they are experiencing.  But being the Libra that I am I like to get as many different angles on an idea as I can before trying to formulate an answer.  It is my nature.

Okay, after taking several tests my IQ is in the 130's.  However I don't project regularly.  If fact I can count on one hand how many projections I am aware of over the 26 years of my life.  But when I dream, that being few and far between, I am lucid or aware about 90% of the time.

So I still don't know about the corrolation.

I have some thoughts on predestination, the elect, infallability, and some others as well.  However I am far too tired right now.  I mean geese, it's almost 7am, I should go to bed.

An update on my sleep issues for any interested.

It all went away and rather suddenly.  Infact not since my last hypnotherapy session a week ago.  Went explored why it was happening a little.  Actually not on purpose.  I told her I was at odds a little about a few things.  My habits mostly, a need to change my life a little.

Her first question was about my smoking and what I wanted to do about it.  That was all it took and I slipped into a state of division.  I was of two minds.  One peaceful and calm, the other agressive.  It was the agressive side that actually wants to bring about some change in my life.  I can only say that it felt like my own will power.  It seems the heat I was expierencing was a result of a conflict on a psychological level.  Will against habbit.  The mind wanting to change the bodys dependancy.

Once I made a solid choice to change it all went away.  Although I yet to make the change I am trying.

I did go through most of the material on that link but I found that it was worded rather confusingly and made no real point one way or the other.  It also condradicted itself.

So in a nut shell....
(voice slightly muffled by the hard exterior casing)

Pre-destination is God's plan, but free will allows you to go against that plan.  And pre-destination only works if you give up your free will and do what is mandated to you.

I argue, partially because I am still confused and partially because I like to, that pre-destination can not exist when free will is allowed.

Stick with me on this because I am truely trying to understand.

My point of view.

If God is omnipotent it is assumed that he knows everything from begining to end.  So anything that he does, as far as creation, giving free will, ect. he knows the out come in the end.  So how can free will truely exist if the end is already known.  I mean, you could not do anything that was not already expected, so there is no free will.  So there you are stuck with pre-destination, the exicution of the divine plan, in which the end and the path are known, leaving no room for deviation.  That being that even this conversation was/is sappose to happen.

Now if free will is true, then God basically made every thing, set us here, gave us free will, and took a step back.  In which case the divine plan is more of a divine guideline.  A set of rules we can choose to follow or not.  From this aspect God steps back to "see what would happen".  In which case the out come or end is unknown.  From this view point God would not be omnipotent because in order for free will to truely work even he would not know the out come.  And that last sentance would go against the very core of the Catholic religion.

Legally you have to register when you turn 18.  However the likely hood of a draft actually happening is very slim.  People are voicing the same worries as in 1999 when some started a whole big fuewy about the Gov instituting martial law for the big Y2K flop.  It is now as it was then the speculations of a few people who always think worse case scenario.

As PeacefulWarrior said there are currently plenty of voluntiers.

However should the need arise and I am called I will go.  I will no join under my own free will but if needed I will serve.  Despite the disgruntled attitude I hold for the way this country is run I can think of far worse places to live.  I see serving when called the duty of all Americans.  It is a fair trade for the freedoms we enjoy.

Ah, but an IQ test does not test awareness.  They test IQ, the abitlity to think, book smarts, and problem solving...none test awareness.

There are a couple of different IQ tests depending on what you want to test for.

There is pure or raw intelligence, basically how much stuff you know, mathmatics, science, economics, ect.  Commonly referred to in schools as an aptitude test.  Testing how much you learned.

Abstract thought, problem solving falls under this catagory, so does probability, and the ability to see relationships between objects or numbers, also known as "Thinking out side the box."

Does that help understand my thought process?
