Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / A Vote

Both.  Yes it is biological, along with all other psi related events.  I say biological because it is within the capacity of every one.  Every one can do these things, they are functions of the body.  And yes I also believe that the soul/spirite actually splits and travels.  I look at the astral mostly from the descriptions given here, but I am starting to consider the astral simply as a name for a place where like minds gather.   Just as many would go to the pub, except the door man thumps you on the noggin as you leave resulting ofor many of us, not being able to remember.  We jsut need to learn to duck.

I know this feeling though.  Oddly I had a similar experiance a little while back.  The conversation in the dream continued where it had dropped off in the forum.  Oddly when I went back to look at the topic again some one had posted something similar to what was talked about in the dream.  I do not know what happened nor did I contact that person to find out if they were there.  I don't know if I just didn't remember reading it or what.

But I have had isues with precognition and dejavu before so I passed it off.

A quicky on how the brain and eyes function together in reguards to memory.

First off your brain is a 24/7 recording device.  Everthing, all the information you gather from all of your senses is stored and can be remembered.  However all of our memories that we try to recal are effected by interpitation.  Even though our brains record everything most often you can only remember what was important at the time since that too is recorded.  And because of such you tend to only remember the thing directly associated with what was important as well.

But there is hope.  Memory recall can be learned to a certain degree.  But unfortunatly you can never get as good as the memory recall of hypnosis.  That is unless you are gifted with a "photo-graphic" memory.  Most people truely effect like this consider it more of a hinderance than a gift.  This being largly due to the amount of information that is stored by the brain.  They often find it easier to remember one specific detail during recall vs tryingto remember the whole day, also due largely to the amount of information.  Most suffer from frequent headaches and migrains.

Now, most people remember things based on one of the five sences.  IE, you remember it being cold out side but can't remember what the smell was.  Memory is most often recalled by what was the strongest sence at the time.  Also recall is effect by other memories you have as well.  For instance, cops have lots of problems with this one,  A man runs a red light driving a white ford probe.  Joe Smoe sees it and tells the cops so they ask him to describe the car.  He tells the cops it was a "GREY" ford probe "LIKE" the one his uncle has.  His memory recall functioned like this.  Hey thats a ford probe (end of actual data), "LIKE MY UNCLES" = grey.  But such is the human mind.

Not every thing that we remember seeing is what was actually there or the same.   Depending the value of sight at the time will determin how clearly it is recalled, however all the information is there.

To prove a point.  Stand up and look straight ahead.  Now turn 180 deg, (behind you) around and look at  the first thing you see.  Do this before reading further.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Do you remember what you were looking at when you started?  Do you remember what you were looking at when you finished?  Do you remember "seeing" anything in between?  Most likely not, what you do remember is vauge and/or is recalled because you are in a familiar location and know everything that is there already.  But think hard, did you actually see anything this time?
This is because what you were seeing in the middle was not part of the task at the time and there for not important.  This information could be obtained throught hypnosis though.  But for you since the task and destination were what was important every thing in the middle gets fuzzy.

Okay so I lied about this being quick.

Most of my dreams are slightly fuzzy and unclear when I try to recall them.  However on the few lucid moments I have had they were extreamly clear out to a certain distance.    Every thing inside a certain distance was clear because it was important to the LD, but after that when the enviroment was no longer a factor to what was going on everything seems to just fade into the distance.  In the one projection I had everything was clear.  However instead of things going to a certain distance a fading out they just abruptly ended into the black background.

An eample of that being it was at a castle orginally.  The entire castle and grounds inside were intact and very clear, almost completely realistic.  But there was just black at say 5 feet beyond the exterior wall.  I knew there were things beyond it because I could hear the ocean but I could not see it.

"I believe you to be wrong sir, but I will defende with my life your right to say it."
A quote that rumored to have been said during the debat over the ammendments.

Yes I believe gun ownership should be a  more controlled thing.  However if a person who is truely bent on getting one will.  Most gun law and bans however keep guns away from the normal citizen.  Granted there is no way to know when a person is just going to flip out and go crazy.  But criminals will get guns no matter what laws are passed.   That is the simple truth of it.

Children naturally should not be able to get a hold of any firarm.  But that is the resposability of the parent.  They need to teach thier children proper gun safety and usage.  They are also responsable for the proper storage of said firarm.  It is often the irresposible actions of the parent that allows a child to get thier hands on a gun.

Again I say, it is not sociaties job to teach me or my children right and wrong,  give them morals, and teach them the consiquences(sp?) of thier actions.  That is my job.  And that is the job of every parent.  If you are unable or unwilling to take on such a responsability then you should not have kids.

Well if you put a structure on a burial or sacred land then you are going to have problems.  In the states it is more common than you think for it to be Indian land.  This being largely due to the driving the people around so much in the old west.  At those times there was very little respect for the dead of other cultures.  There are fewer cases like this of Christian burial sites because they have been slightly more protected.  However if you do some research into the European countries it would be just as common.

Frank,

I was wondering if since you said you were starting to get a couple of dates from the same time era, of it possably being past life memories that you are experiencing some times?  Does that make sence?

They could be past life memories from the same life since there was only a 2 year split (24-26).  I was just wondering if you thought of that as a possability?

You know one of the things that I always seem to get stuck on with religion dates back to to Greek and Roman mythology.  I have done a lot of reading in this area, the times, and the people.  Reading things like the Illiad, The Odessy, and a hand full shorts in books from the local library.  When I think of the differences in times and religions I often wonder who was right.  The many gods, or the one god?

Think of this for a moment.  With the comming of Monotheism came a lot of fightnig over which religion was the right one.  But back when there were many gods war was not fought over religion.  They did not hide behinde that mask.  They very simply fought because of land, money, slaves, and so on.  There were no religious wars.   And even though the Greeks and the Romans had different names for the gods that the worshiped they knew they wetre the same ones.  Even the Egyptians shared many of the same gods with the Greeks and Romans and accepted this, and knew that they were the same but only named different by the people.

So why is it that they knew this so long ago with the many gods being the same but yet in todays world that kind of thinking seems impossible from the vast majority.  What if Montheism itself is wrong?  What if there are many gods?  Maybe that is why they knew that the gods were the same, that, that was the way of the world, and we are the ones who have lost our way, that there is not just one god.

I have read of a lot of people being able to create heat in objects and such.  But do any of you who can think it is possible to weld like that?  That would be cool.  There are so many things that I am trying and working on just to be able to do my job better or easier.  I imagine a lot of things I could do at work alone.

UP until a year and half or so this was almost a constant feeling.  It seemed at times that I more noticed that there was no one watching than the other way around.  But I have felt that my whole life has been watched.  It was the same thing all the time, or rather the same entity for clarification.

Although now I only get it some times.  I do not know if it is the same thing watching me or not, but it feels different, and only comes in spurts.  But my sence for this is not what it used to be.

I know what you mean though about knowing the difference between just being watched and have a neg around.  The difference between being watched and being hunted.  There were at time both feelings.  I know I was being watched by one while another was working on scaring me.  But the other presence never did anything.  It just watched.  I kinda figured a guide would have stepped in and done something on some of those occations.

Your spirituallity while you are alive makes a big difference as to what happens when you die.  It doesn't matter if you were taken suddenly or not. Everyone has a certain amount of issues they need to sort out before they pass.  Some are unable to do so for a couple of reasons.  They may not have had enough time, as in the died at a young age, or suddenly.  They also may not have lived a good life or accepted some of the regrets that they had before they died.  Or even so simply hate and the need for revenge keeps a person here.
There are many different types of spirits, they vary as much as people do, that being the complication.  Its funny, those that pass the easiest are completely ignorant of every thing.  Those who don't have a ideas of religion, nothing bothers them, they just live and let live, they pass the easiest of all.

I don't know.  I am interested but.

Some of the stuff that gets mentioned by all of these people are things that are already sapposed to have happened.  In that one the guy mentioned the colapse of the world and the destruction of a city that still stands and had no riots.  He said it happened in or before 2000.  Here it is 2002 and the still live.  Major things have already passed according to him.

But I tend to think that this is just another one of those fantastic tales told by some one who may have been ex-military looking for some money or just started loosing it.  Some of the things I do not think they could do with out the whole world knowing about it.

You want a game that will give you the willies after playing for too long.

Get "Thief: The Dark Project"  put it in, turn out all the lights, use head phones or just turn up the speaker fairly loud, and play a couple of levels.

It starts out okay but gets more interesting within a couple of levels.

I do not think that it was meant as an actual government body.

Did you know the actual "Men in Black" idea stems back 100's of years.  The black suits and ties are only the image of today.  The image has changed over the years but there has always been many connections to the paranormal and a bunch on mean dudes dressed in black trying to cover things up, or control them.

I remember watching this really funny episode of "The Kids in the Hall", is that right?  Any how.  They did a little bit about heaven and hell.

There was this large group of people all standing around and this tour guide guy comes up and starts introducing them to hell and thier eternal fate.  I remember this one guy piped up, "But I've been a devote Christian all my life, there must be some kind of mistake."

"No theres no mistake."

"But then why am I here."

"It was the Mormons.  Yeah, they were right all along.  Well, sorry, that's just how these things work."

I thought it was funny when I saw it.  I couldn't stop laughing.

Welcome to Integral Philosophy! / Fear
July 04, 2002, 00:18:42
I do not think that it is so much stoping the valuing of life.  I think that more of a concept of acceptance is better.  I feel that you must simply accept things as they are.  When it is time for you to go you will go no matter what.  So why spend your entire life worrying about when that time is going to be?  There are far beter things to be doing.  For most people who have an honest firm belief in what happens to the when they die they have little fear of the event.  For most of the people I know it is not so much that they fear death itself, but rather the possibility of suffering extreamly before hand.
But again if you accept things as they are, and know that things do happen to people for a reason, then even that will be of little value when the time comes.

If you truely live life and revel in each passing moment as if it was your last then there would be nothing to fear from the next.

And to answer the question, is fear important to remove for human evolution?  I do not think that it needs to be removed.  For me, I believe that if we were to get a better understanding of fear it would prove a better tool.   I have noticed that through understanding fear it changes your out look on it.  You no longer are as fearful for self but rather for others.  The fear for humanity itself.  This causes you to want to do more for it, as far as helping, protecting, and teaching those that you can so they too can grow and become more than they are.  In this hoping that they will do the same so that it spreads.

If I had to wager a bet I would say that it was not a reference to the physical sence of the phrase but rather this.  It sounds like maybe a reference to the "rush" that you can get from certain activities.  It is not the activity itself but the feeling it gives you.  Like jumping out of a plain, or bungee jumping.

Some  simply "get off" on hurting others.  Or even put this way, evil in essance, creates situations that cause high level emotional responces so that it can feed on it, or draw from the experience.  Simply put it/they "get off" by creating a certain emotional responce in others.  There drug of choice so to say.

I have thought about this a lot.  If you were to look at all of the abduction stories you would find the 2 common threads that decide real or not.  I would be more likely to believe that the actual number of abuductions is close to say 3% of all reported cases.

This train of thought started because of an experience I had.  It ran as a basic abuduction story and I could very easily turn it into one but I do not feel as if I was abducted.  I will not believe that one.  In fact a couple of the people I have told the story to have also said that I was abducted.  Again I state that  I DO NOT think that is the case.

I did not go to a ship but it was more like a research facility, and I just woke up there.  I didn't see anything until I got up and stated stumbling around.  Then I saw one of the things that was there.  To me the are recalled as just being extreamly non-descript humaniods.

I believe that the vast majority who have been "abducted" or rather claim to be have similar dreams/experiences and given the hoopla of space and all the shows and every thing, the "people" in it are turned into aliens for the sake of the dream.

Steping out or leaving that part out is a perfectly logical idea.

But how can there be a freedom of religion if the government acknowladges the existance of any god.

I feel that the US Gov. should stay completely nuetral on the sublect.  Neither confirm or deny the exstance.  Also I feel they should make no reference to or lack of a god.  There should be no comment on the subject.

By forcing any one to say that there is a god or there isn't is an infringment on this right.

And yes I have seen this happen.  The force can be either through punishment, simply singling a person out, or pressuring them to do so.  By simply not conforming to the "considered norm" a person can be singled out,  and riticuled.  This kind of pressure can be unbearable at time, more so for a child.  What is a kid to do when thier parents teach them one thing and sociaty tries to force another?

Religion, god, morals, manners, and so on are the responsability of the parents to teach, or for a child to learn on its own, or seek guidance when dealing with.  These are not things that should be forced apon some one by sociaty or gov.
