I am sorry to hear about your accident and I hope everything will work out for you.  I have read in ap books that you can go back in time.  I went back into time a long time ago.  I was not trying to go back in time.  It was an accident.  I knew I was somewhere in the past as the clothes people were wearing was very old fashioned.   There is no guarantee that I really went back into time and I really saw the past.  I think I did but nothing is definite unless you have proof.  When you do go into the astral, things tend to happen that can get in the way, such as, you may not be able to see well, you get distracted, you got excited and went back into your body, etc etc.  Sometimes things can turn into a dream if we loose focus.  It could take you a long time to achieve it but if you want to do it badly enough I would encourage you to go ahead.  You would have to get evidence so you would know that it was real and that could take a lot of time.  You might have to keep going back to that time for a while.   
You could contact a deceased person but if you do you would still need to get evidence to see if that information was correct.  I have read many times that you can contact deceased people.

I would advise you to forget about trying to get the buzzing noise or any ap sensation.  A lot of times ap sensations do not happen and we can still ap.  I do not think you can make the ap sensations happen.  It happens when it wants it to happen if it is going to happen.  When you get the vibrations, try doing an ap technique.  I would choose a technique that you would enjoy doing the best.  If you like the thought of floating then you can do that technique.  If you freak out that will bring you back to your body.  Keep your eyes closed until you are out of your body.  It is best if your mind is quiet.  I drink coffee and tea and I can still ap.  If I can do it then you can as well.  If you start to think that it might be preventing you to ap then you will find it harder to ap.  You can drink or eat anything you want to.  It will not affect ap in any way unless you have eaten too much and you feel sick or uncomfortable.  I have a tip for you.  If you think you have ruined your ap, the ap sensations has ended, I am sure everyone has been in that situation, it is worthwhile to keep trying to ap.   A few months ago I got some weird vibrations and it ended.  I thought I ruined it.  I decided I would imagine myself jumping and to my surprise I was spiritually jumping.  I realise a lot of times we can get out it is just we do not realise we can get out.

There is a way of knowing if I can ap anytime of the day and that is to try it.  I will try during the day sometime.  I am too busy this weekend to try to ap.  I have tried to ap during the day before but I am mostly not successful.  I have tried to ap without listening to a CD.  Next time I will listen to the CD during the day and if I am successful I will let you know.

What you said sounds very good Xanth.  I am glad I joined this forum as I am learning things and helping other people.
Since we are on the topic of relaxing the mind I thought I would let everyone know what happened this morning.
This morning I was wide awake and I was not tired.  I have not ap for a while but that is my fault as I have not made the effort.  I thought I would like to ap so I breathed in and out.  That went on for a short while and it was not working.  I knew I had to relax my mind.  I decided to listen to a CD of the sounds of the wind, rain and thunder.  I kept listening to it so I could get my mind to relax.  While I was listening to it, a few times I let my whole body relax all at the same time.  I could feel my mind getting more and more relaxed and I was able to get out of my body.  I was wondering if I am able to do this, then I could ap any time of the day.  What do you think or do you think it would be a lot harder to do?  If you decide to do this technique you need to be aware of how your mind is feeling, otherwise you could fall into a dream.

I suffer from very bad sinus as well.  I took tablets for it but when they stopped working well, I went back to a nose spray that I got from the chemist.  If nothing works, I would talk to your doctor about it.  The doctor should be able to prescribe something for you that will work.

Well done.  It sounds fantastic.  It would be hard to remember all those experiences when you go in and out of your body again.  That is the way it is.  Nothing you can do about that.  To get awareness, look at your hands, and see what you are wearing, feel your face etc.  Do not move until your awareness is very good.  You could say, awareness now and keep saying it until it happens.  That should get awareness.  I also have trouble going to places as well.  Nothing happens and it is frustrating.  When you want to go somewhere, keep saying where you want to go to.  For example, I am at the beach now and keep repeating it until it happens.  I found for things to work, you have to believe it will work.

Xanth you mention that you cannot relax your mind.  For a long time now, I have noticed that when my mind feels different I am about to ap any moment.  It happens when my mind feels more relaxed than normal.

That is wonderful to have an experience like that.  When you meditate you sometimes hear voices and can get answers to things.  I have read that the answers can come from the universe, God or higher self.  It sounds like someone was trying to help you ap.

An idea just came to me.  Do not make yourself too comfortable.  If you are too comfortable you tend to fall asleep.  That is why people suggest to sit up.  I find it hard to sit for a long time.  Tonight I am going to lie on a hard floor.  That should help to stay awake.  It will not feel comfortable but you do not focus on being uncomfortable.  If you put your mind above it and concentrate on relaxing yourself, it will work.

It is not a stupid question.  You can create anything you want.  It may not be real but it can happen.

I have never experienced anything bad in all the years I have been aping.  Living is a lot more dangerous.  You can get run over by a car, get sick, someone kills another person etc.  In the astral nothing can harm you even if there are bad things.  If you do not pay any attention to the entities (I am not sure if I believe in them) but suppose they are real, they will not bother you.  A lot of people are afraid and they create things that are not real.  It is very easy to create things with your mind even if they are not bad.  People read about entities and it can stay in their mind.  I would advise not to go looking for it and reading about it.  If you do that you will be a lot happier.

It comes down to experience.  When your mind is relaxed you know it as you can feel it.  The feeling in your mind changes from normal to being relaxed.  You can still ap when your mind is too tired to ap.

2) How do you know your body is relaxed enough to astral project? How do you know your body is too tired to project?

When you have been lying down for a while, you are relaxed enough, even if you do not feel very comfortable.  I have laid down on a hard floor and I still ap.  It has not been very comfortable.  You can still ap when your body is too tired to ap.

Is there a relationship between relaxed and tired? Is there such a thing as too relaxed?

It does not matter if you are relaxed or tired.  You can still ap.  The more relaxed you are the better.

Thanks Contenteo.  I was meditating more often today and you are right.  It helps to make you feel calmer and also helps to stop thinking about negative thoughts.  I found it hard to meditate when I was pulling out weeds this afternoon.  It is not a nice job to do.  I kept thinking about other things.  I am going to try to get into the habit of meditating during the day.

Hi all, I was listening to Tom Campbell last night.  I thought he was very interesting and was worthwhile listening to.  Anyway, he was talking about meditation and he advised you to meditate during the day, not just once or twice a day.  You can mediate when you are walking etc.  What does it do for you if you meditate as much as possible?  Thanks for your replies.

I used to get sleep paralysis a lot a long time ago and I was never afraid.  I looked forward to it as I knew I could ap from it.  It does not happen anymore.  It does not worry me.  There are other ways to ap apart from sp.

In the morning I made an effort to ap but I did not ap.  It is a bit disappointing when that happens.  I was not taking any notice of how my mind and body was feeling.  I missed the sensations and I fell asleep.  I forgot about it.  Oh well, I will try again tomorrow morning.

One more thing to say.  It is extremely important you concentrate and take notice of any ap signs.  If you lose concentration for one moment you can fall into a dream.  Sometimes I do not get ap sensations and other times I do.  I know when my mind feels more relaxed than normal I mostly ap instantly somewhere.  If I do not notice it I fall asleep.  You have to keep focused, otherwise you will fall asleep every time.  I would not try to ap when you are feeling tired as you will have a high chance of falling asleep.

We have to accept if we fall asleep, we fall asleep.  When you wake up you can try to ap again.  That is what I do.  If you feel really tired then you have a high chance of falling asleep.  It happens to me.  You can get up and make yourself a cup of tea or whatever, go for a walk even if it is inside the house until you feel you are not tired.  Then you can try to ap again.  The more times you will try, the more you will likely succeed.

I feel for you because three years is a long time not to ap.  I get frustrated when I do not ap in a few weeks.  Have you tried not to ap in bed.  I used to be able to ap in bed a lot once  but now I just fall asleep.  The easiest way to ap is to get some sleep, otherwise you are fighting to try to stay awake.  It is no good trying to do that.  After you had some sleep, try going to another place, not your bed and ap.  Do not worry if you fall asleep, give it time.

Welcome to the site.  I ordered a book, The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep.  What did you think of the book?  I got that book, Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming.  It is a good book.  I remember years ago, I used to say during the day, I know it is a dream.  When I was dreaming, sometimes I would become aware.  I knew I was dreaming.  You could try that.  I am going to try to do that again.  It is a simple thing to do and can be very effective.  Do not expect it to work overnight.  It takes times to get it into your mind.
I use a CD of sounds of rain, thunder and wind.  It helps to get your mind relaxed.  I get the feeling that I am the only person that likes to listen to that CD.  Other people like to listen to beats.  The main thing with ap is to practice.  Meditation is very useful to do help with ap and other things.

You cannot have astral sex.  You can have it but when you get feelings that it feels really good, you will be zapped back into your body. 
Pritchmr said the same thing but in a different way.  Those feelings bought him/her back into his body.  I have never had astral sex but occasionally I get those feelings and I am always zapped back into my body.  I am not like this in real life.  It only happens when I am aping.  I do not like it happening.  It is very irritating so I would not try to encourage it.
