When I astral project I am awake.  I am not asleep.

That is a good suggestion.  If it does not work try to believe that it does not hurt.  Keep saying it does not hurt until it does not hurt anymore.

You move away from your body, just like you do physically when you move.  It feels extremely real.  When you move away it feels like you are physically moving but you are not.  It is your spiritual self moving.  The way you move is exactly the same as you would move physically.

That is great.  All you have to do is spiritually move yourself away from your body.  It is very easy.  You just do it.  If you do nothing you risk your physical self going back into your body and the experience will end.  That is what happens to me.

What you suggested is the best method.  The other way is, if you try before bedtime you will likely fall asleep.  No harm done if you fall asleep.  It really does not matter.  There is a chance you can get out at that time but it is harder to do.  I have got out without sleeping first.

The last few nights I have been practicing before I go to sleep.  I am aware that I have a high chance of falling asleep.  I accept that I may fall asleep which I usually do.  I try later.  The more you try at astral projection, the more likely you will succeed.

I never thought much about higher and lower realms.  What Xanth says makes sense.  If you are angry you will create awful things.  It is your state of mind how things will be.

I mentioned in the previous post I like helping people.  I have found I have learnt things from this site as well.  I am glad I joined.

I am starting to hear myself snore a lot now.  I never thought I snored.  When I hear myself snore, I tend to wake up again.  The trick is, I recently learnt and that is to start your practice again.  Try to get out before you start snoring again.

Hi Greytraveller, Yes I do come from Spiritual forums.  I now use two sites, Spiritual forum and Astral Pulse.  I had no intention of joining another site but I wanted to try to help people.

Thank you Lionheart.  You are right.  All you have to do is believe and it will happen.  It may not happen straight away but with practice it will happen.  I only found that out recently.

One more thing to add.  When you relax yourself more and more then relax yourself again.  Then relax your whole self all at once.  You will feel extremely relaxed.  It is a wonderful feeling.  I do not think anything could make you feel that relaxed.  It feels beautiful.  It is the most wonderful feeling I have ever felt.  When you are extremely relaxed your inner self comes out all at once straight away.

This is a great technique to use.  It is very easy.  You do not have to do anything much.  You just keep breathing in and out.  You will relax more and more.  There are four things that can happen.

The first thing is you might start to go to some place.  If that happens, you need to keep alert otherwise you are likely to fall asleep.
The second thing may happen is, your inner self will start moving out of your body.  If it happens, you will feel it and you will know that you are moving.
The third thing that can happen is, you may get ap sensations.  If that happens it is good to do a technique.  Sometimes you do not have to do a technique and it will still work but it can also fail.  I found that for it to work the mind has to be very relaxed.   It is a bit like you are sleeping.
 
The fourth thing is, if none of those things has happened, keep relaxing yourself further.  Then relax your whole body all at once at the same time.  What will happen is, your inner self will come straight out of your body.  You can feel it when it happens.  If it does not work, it means you are not relaxed enough.

I think the technique sounds good.  I have been trying it for a while but I have not succeeded with it yet.  I will persevere with it.  I think it makes you more and more relaxed so you do not feel your body as much.

I sometimes hear myself snoring when I am meditating.  Next time when I hear myself snore, I am going to do an astral projection technique.  I hope that will work.  I think it will work.  You can only try to see if it will work.

I admire you for trying for a long time.  You are very determined and put a lot of effort into it.  It is a shame to give it up.  You deserve to astral project.  Most people would have quit but you did not.  I could be wrong but I think you really want to astral project otherwise you would not write this message.  You are hoping that someone will be able to persuade you to change your mind and to help you astral project.  I am going to try to help you.  As someone said there is something you are doing wrong.  It is not the technique that is wrong.  You sound angry and frustrated.  I would suggest to forget about astral projection for at least a few months.  You need a break from it.  Then try again when you are feeling a lot better.  While you are having a break I would suggest to say to yourself every day that you can astral project.  Everyone else can so can I.  I believe everyone can astral project if they really want to.  Of course, they have to practice.  You need to get it into your mind that you can astral project.  If you think astral projection is hard or you cannot do it then it can become a lot harder to do.  I would practice meditation at least 10 minutes twice a day or 20 minutes a day.  Meditation is very good as it calms the mind.  I would advise to choose only one astral projection technique.  Choose something that you will enjoy doing.  When the mind and body is ready to astral project ANY TECHNIQUE WILL WORK, regardless of what the books tell you.  To be able to astral project your mind has to be calm and relaxed.  If the mind is agitated, frustrated or bored etc, astral projection usually does not happen.  When you do an astral projection technique, try to think you are really there doing that activity.  I only learnt that recently.  You do not have to see or feel anything.  It is not important.  The only requirement is that you really think you are there or doing an activity.   The other day I imagined I was jumping on a trampoline.  I believed that I was jumping and to my surprise I was spiritually jumping.  It only lasted for a short while because I was amazed.  I did not expect it to happen.   If I do not think it will work, it usually does not work.  I have to believe I am doing it.  When you start your astral projection practice try not to get discouraged if astral projection does not happen.  Last night I made an effort but I did not astral project.  It probably is not a good idea to try to astral project for hours.  It might be better to try for a while, then if it does not happen, have a break and try again later.  You may have more success that way.  I hope this will help you.

Hi all, I am interested in astral projection.  I have been astral projecting on and off for approximately six years now.  I want to be on a forum so I can talk to people about astral projection.  I am not able to talk to most people as they think you are a bit weird or strange.  I have been looking at this site for a few years now.  I have finally decided to join.  It looks like a very good site.  I am also on another forum as well.
